The key point being this needs to assembled on the ground and lifted in place. Trying to install the roof if the brackets are on the wall is almost impossible and will damage the polycarbonate. . . 3. The polycarbonate provided is 4mm in 3 pieces per panel so 6 joints all up. . 4mm no longer meets Australian standards so good luck finding replacements down the road, 6mm is the minimum . When I say high winds this was 50kph so not really that high. Avoid this item if you live in an exposed area or get any kind of high wind.

Installed on East side of Northern California house in July 2019. By July 2021 the clear panels had deteriorated and come apart. By October it's literally falling apart into pieces. The sun killed it. The black plastic pieces are still solid though. For $35 a year I guess it's not a bad price, but now I have 4 holes in my stucco that need to be patched. The new awning won't be the same size.

Installing Canopy on Siding
29 October 2020

Pros: Price, size, sturdy framework, attractive. Pleased with the overall look. Hope it stands up to heavy rains & some wind in the Memphis area. Cons: Difficult to install by one person. Hardware (bolts) provided do NOT work well on siding. Had to buy Lagbolts, so that's an additional expense. Plus, your installer may not be the pro that mine was! Also, installing on siding comes with problems--just be aware. Instructions are poor! Just a drawing of each set of parts, but no text instructions whatsoever. My contractor is a professional and even he had trouble figuring out the panel inserts!

The cheapest available and maybe the widest single one, but "yes" or "no" for recommending, value and quality is not that simple. Only time will tell regarding value or quality and recommending is subjective, I bought it on the price and width of coverage. The clear panel is in 3 pieces with joiners, it will have to be seen if they leak or not and it really needs 2 people to join them without difficulty, I did it on my own with a lot of swearing. The instructions are just pictures which does not show that the joiners have about a 15mm gap at each end, but when attempting to put in the end brackets you realize what has to be done. Also the instructions do not show you the minimum height that it has to be installed above an outward opening door for clearance, which is ... MoreThe cheapest available and maybe the widest single one, but "yes" or "no" for recommending, value and quality is not that simple. There are 4 Stainless screws provided that hold it together and 4 of 10mm x 100mm concrete anchors which are zinc coated, the heads will need to be painted to stop rust showing after time. I have assembled it and will install the next few days when it is not raining.

Not outdoor quality!
22 April 2023

Do not buy this product! It's thin corrugated plastic panels that do not line up or stay together. There's no way this will withstand outdoor. After hours of trying to assemble, it started falling apart. Not to mention, almost every panel arrived dented.

Outwardly a decent product, some difficulties and faults, too.

The materials seem sturdy and adequate for this canopy. Assembly was difficult for a number of reasons. The 3 clear panels do not fit easily into the connecting strips. Eventually I figured out that coating the edges with washing up liquid helped them slide in a bit. The instructions were based on a series of small pictures and the meaning of some of the pictures wasn't clear. Assembling the unit as a whole was difficult and I would recommend that two people do it as the panel has to be bent and slotted into the side supports and this isn't an easy task for one person. The metal fittings and bolts that hold the unit onto the wall aren't the right type, and there are no instructions included to explain how they should be used. They should have threaded bolts that protrude through the struts, with nuts that fit on them, rather than a through bolt which screws into an internal sleeve. I had to buy a separate set of carriage screws to secure the unit to a brick wall. A week after fitting, high winds blew the panels out of the unit. I haven't tried to replace them but it is likely that I'll have to unscrew the unit from the wall and reassemble it. I hope this doesn't happen every time it is windy!

Pretty satisfied, good value for money

Aesthetically speaking, the product is as expected. I really hope the material will hold u against bad weather. It has already been through a small storm with very strong winds and rain, without being damaged. I thought the raise would be very loud when hitting the roof, but to my surprise, you can barely hear it. The only big downside is the deployment itself! Even with two people, it requires a fair amount of patience and imagination, as some parts tend to come off very easily. A small piece of advice, it's best to use some dishwashing product to make sure that the panels slide well, or else the process becomes quite laborious. We also had to purchase new chemical pegs as the ones received with the product were not up to par. As a result, some of them would not ... MoreAesthetically speaking, the product is as expected. Vida XL 1.2m door canopy - A practical review.

Still pleased. This is my third 1.2m porch of this design. We live on the top of a hill & (so far) the wind & storms have not harmed any of them. They are bulky but VERY lightweight, They should be assembled on the ground before fixing to the wall.
