Always wanted a pair of my own.....

I grew up as a teen in the 1990's and of course Dr. Martins were all the rage. Whether you were into alternative rock, hip hop, heavy metal, punk rock, EDM, or whatever, Dr. Martens were there. I never got my pair back then, and wore army surplus instead. Over the years, I had some second hand Docs, and one pair of work boots (most comfortable work boots I ever owned in ten years as a warehouseman). Finally, I got my pair of 1460, traditional Docs and have not stopped wearing them since. Great Comfort, classic style, and a cool factor all their own. Timeless and forever, I plan to buy additional pairs to enjoy in the years to come.

Last time I had a pair of 1460 boots was probably 25 years ago. I’ve been looking at them for ages and felt that maybe I was a bit old to be wearing Docs and most of the advertising seems to be aimed at women wearing them. So, I nearly convinced myself not to buy. Then I saw these offered at a bargain price and in a colour that I’d never seen before, Burgundy. So I thought it would be worth trying them at least. I could always return them if I didn’t like them. So glad that I did. I ordered size 44, as lately size 9 (43) feels a bit tight. Perfect fit. I really like the colour too. I always used to wear Cherry Reds but thought that I’d feel too self consious in them these days but felt that black might be a bit too normal. So this colour is kind of half way for me. ...Ā MoreLast time I had a pair of 1460 boots was probably 25 years ago. Old school, 3 wraps around the top and then tie off, gives you loads of lace length when you take them off, so they don’t come out of any of the eyelets.

Generally, quite pleased with them.

Generally, quite pleased with them. However, I wish you made them in a seven and a half. I bought a black pair just 2 weeks ago from your Exeter shop and the 7s were too small, so I now have 2 pairs size 8 which are just a bit too big and I can feel my feet moving around when I walk. I can overcome this by wearing very thick socks but that does tend to make my feet hot. Also, they look a bit too large with straight leg jeans.

I was looking so forward
21 August 2023

I was looking so forward to getting these boots and w/ the sale price!!! I wuz really feelin 🤔awfully good about me! BUT OMG 😲 when I put them on? Ughhh! they made me look like I was wearing big clown 🤔 shoes and I got my usual size (8) never had a problem till NOW! I was so disappointed so I returned them -- thank goodness it's so easy post office or UPS . Now I'm waiting for this other pair that I'm loving so we'll see what happens when they arrive? Usually I don't have any issues with DM boots and I have 6 pairs including sandals only shoe I will put on my feet. As far as I'm concerned these are the best boots I've ever owned and I've been wearing them for about 35yrs. DM's are a huge part of my life and I LOVE 'em and there worth every cent šŸ˜ā¤ļø!!!

Just do it

There is no comparison to Dr Martens boots. I have resisted buying boots I grew up with, given the price (I just wish younger people could experience these, as I did, at a more affordable price to them), but ultimately, I know from experience, the price, over the years of wear, comfort, and enjoyment is always worth the investment.I'm not sure about the review page prompting the reviewer to mention keywords to encourage future potential buyers, so will avoid mentioning the remaining two keywords (I naturally wrote about the 'investment' as they are) I am promoted to write, even though I agree. I am not a robot, but love your boots. Style, comfort and durability every time. No comparison to Dr Martens.

Love them!!! Converted fan!!!
31 March 2024

These are my second pair of DMs and fit beautifully. My first pair are black with the little zip on the side. I decided I wanted some original looking ones and when I saw these ox blood ones on offer I could not resist. Cannot believe I waited til my 46th year to try these!!So so comfortable and I’m converted. I don’t know if I’m ever going to wear standard boots ever again !!

Ode to my new boots
14 May 2024

I went to buy mine in Carnaby street. Also bought new laces with it. Then got home and my partner looked at me "finally you are back" she shouted and told me to remove the beautiful boots and come in. "I'd rather not" I replied. These are beautiful creations and I want to keep them on me a little bit longer, and the multitude will become one, and their energy will be my energy, and my will become their will. We'll move as one. Then I removed my boots and stopped acting silly, sat at the dinner table and kept thinking about these beautiful shiny red things. Happiness lies behind strange corners and sometimes it's just inside a new pair of DrMartens boots.

Ok, but…
5 April 2024

They look smart with a nice colour. But, and coincidentally, I’m right this moment wearing them to get used to what are my very first pair of 8-eyelet DM boots. Can’t say they’re that comfortable currently; I definitely know I’m wearing them (the feel, weight of them etc). I imagine ā€œbreaking them inā€ will be a very long process (unless I give up) and wearing them outside of the house won’t happen for a while. At least until I think I could wear them comfortably for an hour or two.

Sorry to have waited so long.
10 January 2024

My first pair of DM's in almost 30 years.....yes I'm an middle aged bloke. Why did I wait so long to get another pair I'll never know. I used to wear the black 1460's for school in the 80's, so glad I've come back to them, gone for cherry red ones. Think a blue pair will be purchased soon then maybe green one's. The fit is perfect, and breaking in hasn't been problem either, I bought the balm , heel pads and some yellow laces as well. Not been disappointed in the slightest, only in myself for not buying sooner... The selection available online is amazing......this could become an expensive habit, but at least my feet are happy to be back in DM's.

What happened???
15 January 2024

I used to love Dr. Martens. My brother and I both grew up wearing them in the 90s. I have a few pair that I wear now, but they're nothing like the old ones I had. I've tried to buy my brother some on multiple occasions and always have to return them. The fitting is so terrible, and so different from shoe to shoe. It's not that they run "small" or "large", they just fit "awkward". I can't even explain it. When my brother tried this last pair on, there was too little material at the bottom and too much at the top, almost like they had to be "cinched" like 90s GAP jeans. Seriously, what happened? I get that they're no longer made in the UK. Is that it?? It's just so disappointing. I've spent more money on returns than I have on actual shoes that I've kept.
