I was ready to switch over to the Specialized Ambush helmet due to their awesome fit system but the Speedframe Pro was worth waiting for & I totally recommend this helmet. Helmet looks good due to the two open horizontal vents on the front. The combination of glossy and matte also makes the helmet look cool. The helmet is light on the head. Despite the thin padding, the helmet is surprisingly comfortable. The fit is good. The helmet comes in three sizes, so you don’t have to adapt it too much. My head has a circumference of 57cm and a medium fits well. The dial makes it easy to adjust and without pinching or squeezing in the neck. The helmet stays in place during trail riding. You hardly notice it. The helmet is well ventilated because of the many air openings, but it is also cold in the winter, so a beanie underneeds is necessary at temperatures below 5 degrees. The scene: Traveling at moderate speed, 2 inch wide stick up into the front spokes, catapulted 4 feet in the air right onto the top of my forehead and I slid about a foot (in a modified headstand) before flipping onto my back.The result: No concussion as far as I can tell.This kind of crash is precisely what MIPS is for, and it did the job by helping with the rotational forces.The dual density foam also did the job and crushed like it should have, dampening the impact and slowing it down. Which is why I bought another one. A lesser helmet would have resulted in much more serious injury IMHO.Plus it’s a really nice looking helmet, vents really well, and the Large fits my 62cm dome perfectly.Well worth the investment to preserve your brain!

Great helmet. Love the fidlock buckle, it's super comfy. Totally forgot I was wearing a new helmet the first ride. Plenty of airflow. My new favourite helmet.Only downside is the visor. Great that it's easily adjustable, but it seems quite narrow and doesn't do much to stop the sun. I often ride when the sun is low, just before sunset, and this visor doesn't help much. Visors on my other helmets (TLD A1 & A2) are wide and block the blinding sun. The visor on this speedframe is better than nothing, but not as good as other helmets.
Love the look of the helmet. It’s comfortable. Everything is great… except everywhere there is the matte white color, it is peeling. The gloss parts of the helmet are fine. Maybe other colors don’t have this issue? Or all gloss?
I have had my Speedframe Pro for a few years now, and like it so much I bought another for my son. I particularly like the fit, and the Fidlock buckle. The only downside is that on hot rides, sweat seems to pool up, probably in the brow vents, then when you land from a jump it spills out like a waterfall, and goes in your eyes.
I tried several brands of bike helmets and would end up with a headache after several hours of use or they just never fit correctly. I finally decided to give the "Speedframe Pro" a try after reading about it's very high safety rating and now I own four of them. Will not buy another brand again. I highly recommend the Fox Speedframe Pro over all others.
The helmet was recommended by my local bike shop, but they couldn't get it. The owner wasn't happy that I could buy it direct especially since he could have sold me something else, but thought this was his best recommendation. Received the helmet and loved everything about it. Went to fasten it and the Fidlock mechanism is just a magnet. Nothing to lock the buckle, easily flicked it open with my finger. Call me old school, but no way I'm trusting my melon with that cheap gimmick. With a traditional buckle, this is a 5-star review. Very sad to be returning this and also paying shipping. Wouldn't have had to do that if purchased from my LBS.
I bought one of these helmets for my son because of how highly it's rated for safety. He loves how it looks and it's super comfortable. I am happy because he has a high quality helmet that does much more than look good. After taking it out on a few rides, I am back buying one for myself. The straps are a no brainer. I am a NICA coach and am constantly adjusting helmets for my athletes. These straps are spot on from the get go. The magnetic clasp will take some getting used to, but once you do, it's much better than a conventional one.
Wanted another helmet to replace my 4 year old white POC Tectal Race one. FOX didn’t have a plain white in stock. So, I got a black one on sale. Fearing it may be a winter helmet here in Phoenix, AZ. I was wrong! This bad boy breathes so well and the the adjustment fits just below my occipital ridge and it feels comfortable when tighten.
