Better than I expected!

A lot better than I expected, I’ve used huntsman elites, anne pros, duckys, and steel series but the gmmk compact has been far the best of the 60%’s I have used. Been wanting to get a compact white ice for awhile but its always out of stock online so it was a great find at micro center. I reserved it easily on the website so I could pick it up instantly in store a couple days later. Felt great with the stock gat browns and glorious keycaps but I switched them out with mechs on decks anubis switches and a set of gmk caps. Board feels great and looks amazing.

Excellent deck. Solid design. Bright

PROs: I really like the keyboard, hot swappable switches, the Gateron brown switched feel great and are not that loud, the key caps are solid, the RGB is fully customizable and there are different profiles that you can save.Cons: the macro programming is confusing and unintuitive. I could not figure it out, not that I really need it. Also the other issue is the alternate functions are not printed on the keycaps so there is a bit of a learning curve.

Great compact keyboard with customizable features
14 July 2021

Although this keyboard comes from what I call a mainstream company it is a great out the box 60% keyboard, with customization in mind. The ability to change keycaps and hotswap switches makes this a nice intro into customized keyboards. If you know you want to change the switches and keycaps I recommend getting the barebones kit and saving some money, but if you want something you run out of box and have room to change in the future then this kit gets you there. It has been around for a few years but it is still a solid keyboard.

High Quality Keyboard
7 September 2021

I've been using this keyboard for about a month now and no disappointments yet. It has a very high quality structure, with a metal board unlike a lot of competing companies with a plastic boards. I also bought the Aura Keycaps when I bought this keyboard, which adds another level of aesthetic. My only little problem is that they only had brown switches in stock for the keyboard when I bought mine. Overall great product, highly suggest for anyone looking for a very high quality keyboard.

Incorrect key placements
14 January 2023

Great keyboard. Beautiful and very nice to type and game on. Straight out of the box the keyboard had several keys in the wrong place (A,S,J,K) had to pop them out and put them in the correct spots. Not a huge deal but very odd thing to see that this passed QC.

Solid Keyboard that can grow.
18 August 2021

This is a very solid keyboard with obvious build quality. It has a weight to it that feels very reassuring and inspires confidence in the product The installed tactile Gateron Brown switches provide a very good typing experience perfectly splitting the line between clicky and linear switches. This provides a key press that remains relatively quite while providing a small feedback bump. The RGB is reasonably bright and the floating key design lets the light bleed from under the keycaps and blend with the keys on either side providing a pleasing effect The hot swappable modular nature of this keyboard also offers the opportunity to do some modifications. Anything from changing the switches and keycaps to more adventurous PCB and case mods.

The Perfect Intro To Custom Mechanical Keyboards
18 July 2021

Overall, this is a really great product. The build quality of the board is amazing and the hot swappable switches leave so much room for change and versatility. The only downsides are that the keycaps feel cheap (but can easily be changed) and the switches (I think they’re gateron browns?) I personally find kinda gross (subjective and can be changed). The rgb is not that bright with the stock keycaps but are perfect when paired with the glorious aura keycaps which you can find for around $25. The rgb software is lacking specific customizations but the presets are great and easily accessible with the function key commands. If you are looking for a customizable 60 percent keyboard but don’t feel like building one from the ground up, this is truly an amazing pick for ... MoreOverall, this is a really great product. If you are looking for a perfect straight out of the box experience, this keyboard is a solid pick, given that most of my gripes against it are fairly subjective.

Worth the money for sure
9 March 2022

This is my first 60% and mechanical keyboard and I don’t regret it at all. The adjustable LED brightness is great for people like me who don’t want RGB everything, and the brown switches while nothing special are good to start with as they give an ok mechanical experience and sound pretty close to regular keyboards.
