This definitely lived up to expectations. There were a lot of twists and turns and revelations, insights into the characters and how everything turned out the way they did. Quite an epic! I'm in awe of J.K. Rowling for creating such a mind numbingly amazing series! Although there is ONE thing about this book that I didn't like as it seemed too...fanfic-ish. The epilogue just really, really didn't sit well with me. At all. However, this was such a great book and a great series that one little epilogue would not have me rate it any less than a 5/5 it deserves. Highly recommended.

I'm one of those who couldn't wait until the morning to get hold of this book. I literally battled rain and cold weather with my sister to get our copies at 12.15 am, July 16, in a local bookstore in Argentina. According to my dad, I'm slightly nuts for doing that :) In my opinion, though, this book was well-worth the extra effort. After picking it up, I returned to my house and started to read it. I just finished it, and I can sincerely say that it is simply outstandingly good. Yes, the other books were awesome too, specially the 4th and the 5th, but I think that Harry's world is becoming more defined with each book, and that makes for a thoroughly engaging reading experience. Plots abound, and danger is omnipresent throughout the book. There is a new teacher of Defense against the Dark Arts, and also an eccentric new Potions' teacher. Of course, there is much more, including a death that I bet will make you cry, and that hurts Harry enormously. I won't tell you who dies, only that the event involves the Half-Blood Prince, and that I think it was a sacrifice rather than a murder. But what's the point of telling you all this if you can read the book, and enjoy it as much as I did?. Suffice it to say that this is a worthy addition to the Harry Potter series. There is adventure, some romance, and many more elements that add up to make the kind of book that you simply must read. And now, after staying up all night in order to read this book, I really need to catch up on my sleep. If you haven't guessed my opinion on "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" yet, I'll say that I highly recommend it. Run to get your copy, if you don't already have one, and share the magic :)

My son has been obsessed with reading all of these books (the first one was hard to get into at first) and loved every single one of them. Well worth buying them as I has given him the thrill of reading.
Lovely book excellent read very good quality book.
Bought this for my eight year old grandson who has been reading the whole series. It has been wonderful to share these books with him as I love everything Harry Potter after reading the books myself years ago. An excellent story for primary school children, well children of all ages and adults to.
This book has to be one of my favourites in the series, if not my favourite!! There's just something really special about it and it's just such a beautiful book...The plot is so intricately structured and everything falls into place so well! I think this book has the best plot out of the series as it builds up to the end and really does keep you guessing throughout!The character development within this book is fantastic! Everyone is just that little bit sassier and hormonal which is very entertaining to read! Romione and Hinny kill me as they're just so "ughhh" and "AHHH" and do things to my heart!!I will never not get emotional when reading or watching this book/film because there's that one death which just simply ruins me!! I will never get over it. Never.
I can confidently say that the Half-Blood Prince is THE best in the Harry Potter series. Gloriously entertaining, enticing and captivating, I could not put this book down! The development of the characters within this book is unmatched to any of the others. The intricate interwoven relationships within this book have proven to make this instalment more authentic and interesting. The most intriguing part of this however without a doubt, was the insight into the backstory of Voldermort. This paired with the introduction of horcruxes have caused such anticipation for the next novel, where the story will finally be completed.
