I read these books as they came out as a kid. I reread them as an adult, and they still hold up. Book Five is different in tone and pace than the other six books. It’s longer, less action happens, and Harry is a lot more angsty, but I loved reading this book through a trauma-centered lens. At the end of Book 4, the Dark Lord returned and took the life of a Hogwarts student. The Ministry of Magic refuses to believe it. Harry and friends must work against the structures of power to not only show the truth, but to keep those they love about safe from harm. The pace is slow and theres a lot more subtle plot than big drama. After reading the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter series, as well as many of these reviews, I simply cannot believe that anyone would rate this book with less than 5 stars. I have read reviews where people say that the ending is too "light and fluffy", or that "Harry should have died", and that the whole deathly hallows part of the plot is pointless because, in the end, Harry does not keep the hallows. Can no-one here see why JK Rowling ended the series as she did? I grew up with Harry Potter, the first book having been released when I was about 9 or 10. I cannot express how depressing it would have been had Harry died, for(forgive me for the cheeziness) if Harry had died surely there was no hope for the rest of us. I cannot express how depressing it would have been had Harry died, for(forgive me for the cheeziness) if Harry had died surely there was no hope for the rest of us. Furthermore, the ending is not "light and fluffy". Harry overcomes Voldemort as his character develops, as he finally understands how to finish the Dark Lord once and for all- as he allows himself to be sacrificed for the benefit of "the greater good". The deathly hallows merely stand as the temptation for Harry to become all-powerful, to make the same mistake that Voldemort and Dumbledore(when he was young) made. His choice to turn down the opportunity to evade death not only speaks on his true character, but sets him apart from those who would try to harness this power. Even if Harry had chosen to keep the Hallows for good purposes, would he not eventually turn into the same type of tyrant as Grindelwald, as Voldemort, and as Dumbledore would have become? Yes, the hallows did appear and disappear in this one book, but because Harry chose NOT to keep them for himself, he chose the path of the pure-hearted. By this action, we truly see how much Harry has grown and matured. We also see just how different Harry really is from Voldemort, a question Harry himself had been wondering for some time.So for those of you that bash this book for not ending in total destruction, and claim that "life is not fair and evil really does win", please remember that life is only what you make of it. Only those of us who grew up with Harry can really say just how much his life means to us, and I would just like to thank JK Rowling for this wonderful finishing piece of the Harry Potter series.

JK Rowling is one of my absolute favorite authors. The Harry Potter series is phenomenal as well as her various other titles are just as impressive. She is imaginative and mysterious, mythical and magical. It is so much fun to read her books. I will always support her.

The best YA series period. This story never gets old and grows up with you. Throughout my life I have seen myself in so many different characters and understood so many things now that I never could have when I first read and watched the series. If you haven’t ever read this series… do it now. If you have read this series… do it again!
What a time to be alive! I enter the magical world of Harry Potter again, this time with my own son, able to read to him the stories that I grew up on. This time around, he will be able to read and listen to the stories while also seeing beautiful illustrations of every important scene. The books are longer and wider than the originals, albeit thinner. The larger page area allows for full sized (and sometimes double paged) images that truly immerse you in the current scene. The print is also a little larger, which is great for younger readers picking up the series for the first time.As for the literature itself, we all know this series is a timeless classic. If you're an adult and have not read this series before (even if you've seen the movies), I encourage you to read the books. Whether it's the originals or these, the series is sure to be one of the best you've read and much better than the movies, of course. Though with the illustrated novels, you will have to wait a year between each book like I had to as a kid, but it'll be even more worth it to have the amazing pictures to accompany it.
The book explores themes of loss, rebellion, and the consequences of political manipulation. It sets the stage for the wizarding world's descent into war and the challenges Harry and his friends must face as they confront the dark forces threatening their world.
I think that the reader should understand this: While Harry is growing, so is the story. The story has taken higher grounds than ever before. Before we saw Harry fighting basilisks, dragons, trolls, and all manner of monsters. In the Order of the Phoenix, the battles have become personal. Harry is fighting his own anger, his inner emotional battle with others. Most of the conflict loops around the dreadful Professor Umbridge. Sometimes the reader cringes with Harry's pain. You end up feeling both sorry for and angry with Harry. The conflict intensifies as the plot thickens. Another sign of the maturation of the story is the growing good vs. evil theme. We all know that Voldemort is evil and those on Dumbledore's side are good. We learn more about Sirius Black and James Potter and the conflict with Snape. The reader may be left crying in the end.
Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix. This was a great series that showed Harry’s mindset and actions after the death of the characters Cedric in the last book. The lies that were going on about Harry Potter lying and also the discrediting of Albus Dumbledore. Seeing how also Harry Potter was also exhibiting behaviors that was similar to a particular known character and how they started learning battle magic as well as the clear indications of stereotypes and racism that was standing in the book as well too. I really enjoyed this book and this was definitely. This book is one of my top three favorite books in the series. Five stars all the way for this book📖 .
Great Experience. Item and Description matched perfectly. Shipped with care.
Very heavy cover discoloration. However, the book itself is still readable. Arrived safely.
