I'll just briefly mention some things other reviewers didn't. The viewing port is large enough for small goggles, this would make a cool aggressive 'streetfighter' look but since HJC didn't include their quick release system for the visor this would have to be a premeditative decision and not something you could do on the fly. Honestly, if HJC slapped a sun peak on the forehead and called it an ADV lid, I don't think many would question it. The box comes with a helmet bag, it's not just a sack either but one of those drawstring bags you can use as a backpack, could be useful for carrying your helmet in public. The vents are very strong and have a satisfying and reassuring click to them. Even though there's only two shell sizes I didn't find the helmet offensively ... MoreI'll just briefly mention some things other reviewers didn't. The visor is nice and thick, there's no flex despite the large visor. It's a great helmet overall with a new and interesting style I like, unfortunately I had to return it as I discovered my head shape is rounder than intermediate oval.

I like the F70 carbon. It looks good, vents well for central Texas, and rates very well for safety - SHARP has it beating all of HJC's RPHA models. That makes this a stellar overall helmet.Unfortunately, it doesn't fit my head shape. A lot of reviews say it's longer front-back but I found the opposite is true. My F70 carbon is definitely wider side-to-side. This medium F70 rubs my forehead more than an extra small HJC I70. Since that's going to vary for each of us, that can't be held against the F70. The real issues are with the visor.1) The visor's grab tabs are visible when the visor is fully open and their shape refracts light, flashing it into your eyes. It's pretty distracting until you get used to it and I can't think of a decent solution besides darkening the grab tabs somehow. In the image attached to this review, I tried to capture what it looks like just with a weak overhead light - the sun creates much brighter distractions when cornering or shoulder checking in particular. At night, lamp posts and headlights create extra flashes of light as they're refracted as well. It's not a deal breaker, but it's worth noting.2) This one is more mixed. The visor locks securely (which is good) but it can be hard to open with one glove - it's easy to pull the helmet up half an inch before the visor pops open. I didn't have this issue with my HJC I70 nor my Bell MX-9 and both felt just as secure when closed (especially the I70 which has a locking mechanism). Some folks might want a visor this secure (trackdays brah), but the casual cruisers should definitely try this before they buy it.These two minor complaints barely mar an otherwise stellar helmet. I heartily recommend it.

Overall, pretty good helmet for the price. As others have noted, the sizing is off as it runs small. I have 2 other HJCs, both XL and fit perfect. However the F70 is very tight around the cheek pads but especially in the forehead area. Wore it on a 10 hr road trip and had significant discomfort after a few hours. The sun shield is a nice feature if you don't wear sunglasses under your lid. Wind noise isn't bad at all behind a shorter windshield. The vents work well to keep it comfortable in warm weather.

This is a great helmet. I purchased the Medium White version. The shield fogged up pretty bad in the cold, but I purchased a pinlock insert for it that solved the problem. The breath guard did little for me, but it's there for those that want it. The drop-down sun visor is a godsend. I don't think I will ever buy another helmet without it. It's really easy to manipulate. The air vents can easily be opened and closed with gloves on.As far as style, I personally like it, but that's subjective.Honestly, I have no real complaints about this helmet. This is my first HJC helmet and I think I would be up for buying another one.For those curious, my head circumference is 57.5cm, my head length is 19.5cm, and my head width is 15cm. The medium fits perfectly.
This helmet is absolutely amazing! It is very comfortable even when worn for long hours. The cheek pads are pretty snug out of the box but will squish down pretty quickly. The action on all of the vents is fantastic and gives you a great feel of the quality of this helmet. The drop visor is very nearly flush with the breath guard but completely hides your face when deployed which gives you a good feeling of privacy when riding. I wish that the slide for the visor had a bigger profile but otherwise the operation isn't really affected with a gloved hand. But I would love for there to be a bigger chin curtain and to be secured better than with just Velcro on the sides. It is the size of a tortilla chip for some point of reference. As someone who has progressive hearing loss I was drawn to this helmet because of its reviews on how quiet it is. Because it is a fairly new helmet, I spent countless hours researching it; trying to decide if it was worth taking a chance on or if I should go with the tried and true Shoei. Reviews on Revzilla suggested that it was quieter than Shoei but I was still skeptical. Then the matter of price came into play $400 vs. the $242 this helmet cost. So I gambled and bought it. While I can not offer an accurate review in comparison to Shoei, I can say this: if Shoei is any quieter than this helmet then it must not be letting any sound in at all (and I highly doubt that) because this helmet is very, VERY quiet and $150 cheaper. The helmet is great quality. I like the various ventilation options, and the integrated sun visor is convenient and easily to use.As far as protection goes, I fell off the bike into grass with it on, and the helmet suffered very little outside a few minuscule paint chips and scratches. My head suffered nothing! It?s a trustworthy brand and a trustworthy product. My only wish for this helmet would be that I bought an extra small. The small works just fine for my head, comfortable with minimal movement - but the extra small may have been a more snug fit.
This is a really nice helmet. Lightweight, made of good material. When using on a bike the added pinlock massively increases vision. The shape of the visor is perfect for maximum vision. The only con of this are the to vents on the top are a little stiff to open and close, especially in motorcycle gloves. But it does not take away from this fabulous helmet
Great helmet so far. It?s much lighter than my old helmet. Very quiet. I really love the wide view, and built-in retractable shades. The shade is a better design than my old HJC, which was spring-loaded and eventually broke. The retracting shade on the F70 feels very smooth and sturdy. The visor is very sturdy and smooth; closes well. My old HJC had the quick-releasing visor, which was nice, but could feel loose and kind of rack to the side sometimes when opening with one hand. This is solid and I?ll gladly sacrifice being able to quickly remove the visor for that smoother operation. In winter, it can fog pretty quickly when you?re not moving, but the vents clear it once you get going again. But since the head fit pretty well and I knew it would break in a bit, I ordered some smaller cheek pads.
I bought this HJC helmet from Revzilla last week. I have an older IS-16 in XL that fits fine. I’ve tried on their modular in an XL (at a Harley store with branding all over it) with no problems. Every winter, the rental snow machine place loans me an HJC in XL. Every which way I measure my head, it comes out to a 61.5. But this helmet is not even close to that. I can put my fist (5 inches across) in the neck hole and it hits on either side. Others give me about 2 more inches. If this thing is “intermediate oval,” I’m Brad Pitt. It felt like ripping my ears off getting this thing on, and closing my mouth was impossible without biting my cheeks. It’s a shame.
