The Hoya 52mm HMC ND 0.3 Filter is an ND filter with a 2x filter factor that provides a 1-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.3 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes three layers of anti-reflection coating. These coatings also offer greater protection to the filter substrate and help it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters. This filter is constructed from optical glass for increased clarity and color fidelity. Its aluminum-alloy filter ring is durable while remaining lightweight.

Wow, I love filter! My camera shutter speed is maxed out at 4,000 and this filter not only gives me high quality images with no distortion or weird colors but it also brings down my shutter speed from 4,000 to around 320 @ 4.0 in the middle of the afternoon on a very bright day with no exposure compensation.

Seems to be of good quality for the money. I have used it once as I just got it but what I used it for was to photograph Football players posed with flash in bright sun and it enabled me to lower my sync speed to 1/200 at F4. Camera (Nikon d750 with 70-200 2.8 lens) had no problem auto focusing. In post production no change in sharpness or color.

Hoya filters are well known to professionals and amateurs alike. This Neutral Density 2 works like sunglasses on the human eye. Glare is reduced and colors become deeper. They are very handy when you need to reduce the amount of light and show certain details, or smooth certain others, depending on your combination of settings. Highly recommended.

Anyone looking at this product is likely looking for a filter that will extend their length of exposure. It serves that purpose well. The colors are good. I bought it specifically for my wide angle lens (28 mm) on my Nikon for fireworks this summer. Living in Utah we have a month of fireworks (the fourth and statehood is on the 24th) and this has enabled me to lengthen my shutter speed and include more bursts with less flare. Works great to offer the ability to lengthen my shutter opening and include a few more bursts. Great pictures will not too much 'clutter' in the shot.
I bought this specifically for shooting video with my Canon t5i and 70d with a Sigma 17-50 lens ouside. I wanted to get a shallower depth of field and I couldn't do that in the bright sunlight. This filter is perfect for my needs. It filters out the light and helps me get a lower f-stop. Works perfectly. Basically like sunglasses for my camera lens.
Great filter, won't use my lens without during the day anymore. Would definitely recommend
Worked a treat, just what the lens needed on a sunny day... a few samples from the shoot at Roma gardens with my Canon 70-200 is ll L with the Hoya ND2 filter on it... Made all the difference, cut my post time in half with the filter on to help balance the bright light. A good quality filter is worth it!
Since I began in photography, this filter has been my preferred ND2 filter. I have other brands, some of which give the image an objectionable color cast. This one doesn't -- at least to my eye.
This is not my first Hoya filter,So I knew what I was getting, perfection! Love the results I get!
I use this with my Sony A6000 and 50mm f1.8 lens, in order to take wider aperture pictures in brighter light. The 24.3 sensor doesn't seem to be resolving the light with any noticeable difference other than the obvious darkening effect, which means that this is a solid buy in my book. No ghosting, no softening, just a solid neutral density effect.
