We bought this to go in our malm bed frame, to go with a brand new serta memory foam mattress. Because of covid the delivery was a week late, so we slept with the mattress on the floor for a week. The difference between the floor and the bed slats was night and day! On the floor the bed was firm, supportive, and you couldnt even tell someone was moving around on the other side. On the slats we creaked around, you could feel every single movement like a rocking boat, and we both started getting back pain within a month because it lost all of its support! We now have a regular flat slatted base from another retailer and it's back to being comfortable and supportive again. If you have a memory foam mattress do not use these slats! Don’t buy the cheap entry level bed slabs! Definitely invest in this one! 10/10 recommend!

I’ve been sleeping on this bed base for over a week and it’s very comfortable, but I have to knock it down a star because it was an ordeal to put this frame together. In the end I’m happy with the purchase and thought I would list my missteps to save you some grief. 1. If you’re buying a queen size (probably also goes for full or king), this base comes in two boxes. TWO BOXES. They are all stacked together and look identical, the only difference being a small #1 and #2 on each box. If you forget a box, you will still pay full price and the cashier will not tell you. You will have to return to Ikea and spend an hour in customer service just to have someone chastise you and hand you the second box. You’ve been warned. 2. This bed base is two separate frames. First you build the frame, then you slide the slats into rubber pockets, then you tighten the screws and slats become convex. I’ve seen reviewers complain that the slats were very hard to put in – that’s because they tightened the screws too early. You tighten the screws just on one side, then barely put them in on the second side (like three turns), then put the slats in, then finally tighten the screws on the second side. But make sure you tighten the screws before flipping the frame over for the last step! If you don’t, all the slats will slide out and you’ll have to start over. Don’t ask me how I know this. Not counting the return trip to it took me about 4 hours to assemble this bed by myself, including the Kopardal bed frame.

Although the assembly process is quite tedious, it's not impossible. Make sure to install the different color slats in the right order. Great support for your mattress as the space in-between slats are close together, so there is almost no sagging. After laying on my bed, I could immediately feel the difference and already had a great first night of sleep on my spring/foam mattress. Great value for the price and well worth the purchase.
Really not sure what the handful of negative reviews here are going on about. It took less than an hour to assemble each half of the queen set -- tedious, yes, but not exceptional by IKEA standards. It fit perfectly in an Idanas frame. The support is outstanding. But the main thing for me is that the standard Ikea slats -- e.g. the Luroy -- have wood-on-wood interfaces between the slats and the bedframe that tend to squeak. You'll see lots of advice on the web about using parafin wax on those interfaces to keep the noise down. With this set, there's no place where wood is moving against wood -- as the wood slats bend under your shifting weight, they are pushing on the rubber holders. Two bits of advice on assembly: leave all 12 screws loose, not just six, and stick both sides of the slats thru the fabric before sticking either end thru the rubber holders. Also note it is 1 3/8" higher than the Luroy, so add ~1.5" of mattress height in placing the internal steel rails on the Idanas.
While putting the base together, we discovered that we had the wrong number of slats. There are supposed to be 40 of the darker color, and 20 of the lighter slats. What our package had was 30 of the the darker color and 30 of the lighter color. In other words, we were missing 10 of the darker and had an extra 10 of the lighter. We called customer service numerous times (17!) and would be disconnected after getting the message that they had a high call volume and couldn't take the call. After finally reaching the point of getting hold music this last time, have been waiting for 47 minutes at the moment. After finally reaching the point of getting hold music this last time, have been waiting for 47 minutes at the moment. We unfortunately discovered this late into the evening and are having to find a way to store the not fully-constructed bed somewhere else and put our mattress on the floor for the night. We are longtime IKEA customers, and have never experienced anything like this. The reviews for the base seem great! Will update if we get this resolved.
I knew as soon as I read the reviews that this was the answer to my ongoing problems with the Luroy slats, which was the only purchase option when I initially purchased my IKEA bed. There was a learning curve to the assembly but once I got to the second frame, it was smooth sailing. It does raise the height of my bed a bit (the Luroy allowed my mattress to sit lower.) Overall very pleased with the Lonset so far. Also, while everybody else is raising their prices, I'm happy to have even a 5% Friends and Family discount--thanks IKEA!
These slats are incredible and greatly improved my sleeping even with my old mattress. Felt a huge improvement in my neck and back pain after just one night. Full size fits my Malm double bed frame perfectly. If you are buying larger than a twin, be sure to get all the boxes that come with your order. Full size is two boxes. My Malm had the old board slats so I removed the anchors and the new slat frames laid down perfectly in the bed, no sliding. When assembling, I recommend attaching the three bar pieces to one side first, then put the slats in the ribbon. The slats are color coded so match the colors to the rubber pieces. After filling the ribbon, attach slats to one side, then the other. As you add the second side, tighten screws as you add slats. So, initially I was torn on buying this item because of the negative reviews; however, I'm not sure what they were doing because my experience with this bed base was not that bad. Yes, the Lönset is tedious to set up, but there are quite a few tutorials on YouTube that help to simplify the experience. For me, the only time I really wanted to throw in the towel was with the four tension straps. They take forever!!! There WAS a moment when I thought this might not fit my malm bed, but I realized some of the screws were not tightened all the way. After fixing the screws, the Lönset fit my queen malm bed perfectly! This system does push your mattress up a bit high, but I kind of like the extra height. The Queen size pads width is not fitting US standard. Each pad is about 0.5 inch wider that gives 61 inch width for set of two pads.It does not fit 60 inch wooden queen bed (not sure about steel frames). You need to cut that 1 inch piece from each plank at one pad to fit the bed size.Works as expected after this adjustment repair.Bottom line: buy it if you are DIY person.
