I like the hybrid design of this shoe. It sits half way between being a trail sandal and being a trail shoe. Very protective. Excellent material. Nice colors. My only complain is that after buying the orange and the green versions, Keen has a problem with making the size true to size. I normally wear size 11. So my first purchase of this shoe was in the orange color. That shoe fitted way too big. I could only use it once. I had to give it away because I made the mistake of throwing away the box to do a return. A couple of months later I purchase this new beautiful green color. This time keen offered a tool to order the right size. For size 11, they recommended buying a 10 1/2 shoe, which I purchased. It still wear big. So I’ve had two misses on the size. These are the greatest shoes I’ve ever owned- I’m an adventure traveler, mountain biker, hiker, beach goer, kayaker, and these are my go to shoes for almost anything. Easy to slip on and slip off but cinch up nicely especially with socks. But above all else they are comfortable and the best shoes I have ever worn for my back and posture. They’re great for standing or walking long periods, but I love how I can just hop into these to run out to the car or walk across the rocks at the beach. Buying my second pair right now. My original pair have lasted 15+ months as my daily driver shoe before they started getting too run down- but they could still keep kicking.

I bought these with the refund I received after another Keen style came apart after only 3 months of urban walking. I was skeptical of another Keen product as there are those reviews that go something like, "I've had Keens for years, this is my third pair but the quality is no longer there." Hopefully these last longer. So far they are comfortable. If anything, they are a bit wide, and I have a wide foot. The cord lock elastic lace works well but tends to work loose and requires frequent tightening during extended walking and I have it drawn as tight as it can go on my foot. At that point, the plastic lace end knob flops around when I walk, almost touching the ground. But I tied a knot in the lace end to shorten it and it works fine. These will meet my needs for a ... MoreI bought these with the refund I received after another Keen style came apart after only 3 months of urban walking. Despite the sturdy sole, the comfortable width and easy elastic lace, they do not provide me with the support found in shoes with a full (not sandal) upper.

I purchased this Keen model because I wanted a sandal with covered toes and arch support. I was a big fan of the leather Newport, but it does not provide adequate support for my 64 year old high arches. If you are looking for a wide, covered toe sandal that allows you to insert a separately purchased arch supporting insole, this is probably a good choice. As stated in other reviews these run large. I wear a size 8.5 in Keen sandals, work boots, and shoes. Per the size finder on the Keen website I ordered a size 8. They fit but are borderline on being too large. I wear keens because they are typically wider, and this model is definitely wide. In fact, I have to tighten the bungie to the point that it reaches the toes. The construction of this shoe is almost Identical to the keen voyager trail shoe (although it runs larger and wider). With the exceptions of the bungie shoe lace and the true cut outs in the sides for ventilation. If you are buying this model for the arch support, plan to shell out additional money for custom insoles. The keen insole that is included, as has been my experience with most standard insoles, provides virtually no arch support. Because of the maximal construction design, and the addition of an insole, they are warmer than typical sport sandals as well. The tongue requires some wrestling to get the top in place when tightening the bungee. It reminds me of a Keen Targhee shoe I had several years ago that always seemed like the tongue was too narrow. I assume the upper will be durable and last until the rubber sole gets too hard to get reasonable traction (several years). As has been the case with my other Keen shoes.
My size 16’s came after Keen bent over backwards due to my fault. Great response from them to again correct my mistake. Going to have to get use to them the sole is like a semi tire. Suggestion With a size 16 I look for the lightest shoe I can get., See if you can make the sole less bulky. I never could wear that sole out. Save some money making these Keen. Post the weight of the shoe also. Thanks for a great shoe
There's a lot I like about them. But the downsides so far:* the cinch system is loosening itself. My other Keens (Newport, CNX) never had this problem. These shoes feel looser and looser the more I walk in them until I tighten them back up.* the pads under the cinch (where the "tongue" of a normal shoe would be) get twisted and stuck outside the side elements which they are supposed to cushion against, when putting the shoes on. It's annoying to have to fix them up every time.* the heel is just. . . too thick. It's like a 2" lift. It's thicker than hiking boots and snow boots I have.
I am 73 years old will be 74 this year used to hike fish irrigate in northern New Mexico for years. I had a real bad round of sciatica. My feet were messed up. My hips were messed up. I wore a pair of these out years ago, decided to try a new parent and see what would happ happen I absolutely love them. You guys have always had great products. I've worn lots of them out in my lifetime. Keep it up. Ray Trotter Taos, New Mexico
Sizing is all wrong. Purchased A pair last week. Got my usual size 10.5 uk. Received in 3 days. Only problem is they are way too big. Went to Anaconda to get correct sizing and found that uk9 was best fit. I nearly ordered us11 given other reviews saying theyr’e a small fit.Sizing chart on website is all wrong. On every other website uk 10.5 = EU 46, however on Keen chart says EU 45. If you are going to buy these online then try them on in a store first.I now at my own cost have to return to MD for a refund, no exchange is possible, then reorder the size that fits. Given MD no longer have ant shopfronts this is a pain and I would not recommend buying online as any savings are lost if you have to return item due to indifferent sizing of sandalFelt comfortable ... MoreSizing is all wrong. These shoes are designed very differently than other KEENs. They open up more like a sneaker than a slip on sandal. and they were huge. I wear a women's ten or a men's ten and read that this style ran large. I tried a 9 1/2 but it was very large. Perhaps about an 8 1/2 would have fit. The design is more like a lace sup sneaker which made fitting my high instep easy, but would put a lot of stress on the elastic cords rather than the shoe to keep the shoe secure. It didn't work for me and I returned them.
I have enjoyed using these shoes. we recently went for a 3 mile walk in Dinkey Lakes area and they did very well. They are not really hiking shoes but they were sufficient (great soles but not so good ankle support...these shoes are better suited to the beach). Walking through the creek at the end of the walk was awesome (cool water on hot feet). Very comfortable.
