I've been looking for decent pair of sandals for over a year. I have tried various brands, but with no success - either they were too small (and/or narrow) uncomfortable, poorly made, hand no traction, or just looked awful. I struck gold with the Targhee III. These sandals are super comfortable, have great traction, and look good. I'll likely buy another pair before these are discontinued red.

These are nice sandals though I liked my previous pair of Keens a bit better. On those I could remove the footbed for cleaning or replacement. Also the material under the strap did not fold back if you weren't careful attaching them. Although the tread looks very aggressive, my previous pair actually seemed to grip wet surfaces better with a more flat tread. These are all minor complaints. I would give them a 4.5 rating if I could. Bit I can't, so it rounds up to a 5.

I bought these sandals in January 2022 mainly for a planned trip to the Philippines but also some hiking around Sydney.I found them very comfy and great for walking the beaches of Boracay and through the rivers of Northern Samar but found the grip to be lacking when walking across wet rocks. My Salomon hiking shoes have great grip in the wet so I assume it's the materials the soles are made from that make them a little slippery. Apart from that though they are great sandals althounf much too expensive. Only worth around the $80 mark.

Love them, I ummmed and ahhhhed about the sandals I was after to replace some Teva Tanza sandals I have worn for 4 years. I have worn Teva Tanza sandals for in excess of 10 years but they are no longer available, I even purchased 2nd hand sandals from the US but they decided they wouldn't ship them...My wife undertook an extensive internet search as she knew I was desperate and discovered the Keen Targhee as an alternative. Initially I was hesitant, I researched these sandals myself and noticed a lot of positive reviews. I travelled to my local Anaconda and checked the sandals out for myself although they didn't have my size in stock I was able to determine that I would give them ago and ordered a pair online.I have to say I love them, the materials are perfect ... MoreLove them, I ummmed and ahhhhed about the sandals I was after to replace some Teva Tanza sandals I have worn for 4 years. I have purchased Keen's Targhee III men's sandals twice before over the years. These are my third pair of sandals in the last 10 years and they are are tough. The leather is well bound into the sole, and has never failed me. Sole is strong and has just the right amount of flexibility for real hiking on and off the trail. The Velcro closures are very reliable and allow for socks and bandages if required. The tread is just right for a rough trail or scrambling over wet rocks. After all this they still look great. I use them to hike and explore the canyons, mountain trails and towns of the South West.
Really, really like these sandals. These are my go-to summer footwear.Use: 95% casual walking on pavement, concrete, or improved dirt trails.I read where it's a thing to wear these sandals to go hiking. Don't know how people wear sandals to hike. I tried it. I always get pebbles, twigs, or leaves in my sandals. If I wear the sandals for extended periods of time on hot pavement, my feet become fatigued and sore. Go figure, right? The sandals aren't some "wonder" footwear. The sandals are comfortable, tough, and work well.I bought these in March 2022.Pros: Fit well, Comfortable. Feel "sturdy."Cons: I guess I've worn them more than I thought. The soles are a little more worn down that I thought they would be.Overall: I will likely buy them again. I really liked everything about these sandals. I buy Men's sandals for the width. The velcro is great, the fit and comfort excellent. Unfortunately, the whole reason I bought them is to have a solid grip on the pool decks at fitness clubs and also in the shower. I bought two more pairs after the initial ones before I found out these are not suitable.
Although these sandals are very comfortable, I would never buy them, again. They have a rim around the perimeter of the sandal which cradles your foot. This is all well and good if you only walk on paved surfaces. However, if are walking on gravel surfaces, it tends to trap gravel in the bottom of the sandal and you can’t just pick your foot curl your toes to push the sandal away from your foot and have the gravel fall out. With my Tevas, I could
Very soft and comfortable sandal. I wanted one that gave me support yet had enough cushion for comfortable walking on cement which I do quite often in walks in my neighborhood. Some of the brands are too stiff and jarring when on hard surfaces. The padding around the straps is just right and there is a grip on the top of the sole that keeps you from slipping but not uncomfortable where you feel you are on ridges when barefoot. Haven't worn them wet yet but I'm sure they'll do just fine. Fits true to size.
i'm old but very active. For various foot issues from running, biking, hiking and skiing, my podiatrist said I should try to wear good sandals outdoors in warm weather and indoors year-round (no bare feet on hard wood floors). I love 'em. Comfortable--especially with cheap off the shelf 3/4 inserts that i use with all shoes. Straps are well designed. I can't see any tread wear after two years. Same with the uppers. Really well made. And, if you loosen the adjustable top strap just a bit, and you can slip in and out of them--which is great indoors.
