I have worn similar sandals from Chaco and Teva, but once they got wet the straps became hard and wore blisters on my feet. I have two pairs of Keen shoes that I love and decided to see if they had a sandal product that was waterproof that I could wear. The minute I put these on I was sold. They are extremely comfortable and have held up really well in a variety of weather. I wear them every morning when walking the dog and found they were so comfortable that I keep wearing them throughout the day. The only tiny issue I had was that it took awhile to get the straps adjusted for a perfect fit. At first I was redoing the straps every time I put the shoes on. Eventually I realized that I could just slip the shoes on/off and never needed to adjust the straps again.

First 100 miles, compared to several pairs of Rialto

I do not expect the sole to last nearly as long, it's just too thin especially at the heal. Straps look just as sturdy. The ones on my Rialto's eventually started falling apart and coming lose from the heal of the sandal, but not till I had pretty much worn out the soles.First few steps, not comfortable, but I don't think my Rialto's we comfortable when I first got them. The straps are definitely harder on my feet than the Rialto, and rubbed the skin off the top of my foot and behind my heel the first few times I used them. I walk about 7 miles a day so the top of my feet were pretty raw and the bottom of the straps pretty bloody. I also noticed the top of the sole where my foot rests is textured with bumps that are quite irritating to my foot, but don't cause blisters, even now that the top of my foot has toughened up and calloused enough to stop the bleeding and pain. The ball of my foot still experiences discomfort every time I walk. I'm hoping that too will eventually go away. My Rialto's never did that, and I went though about one pair a year for a while.I also noticed the top of the sandal does not seem to absorb water like my old Rialto's, which is a nice feature. The old ones always did and got a bit stinky. They also took forever to dry even if a little water dripped onto the top of the sole from wet grass. Nice move, but I still wish the hard rubber on the bottom of the sole was much thicker so they won't wear out quickly. They are a very nice walking design, very easy to walk in, much nicer in fact than the Rialto ever were. The Rialto heal tended to drag much more when they were new. The heal on these is pre-rounded so they don't need to wear in before they stop dragging.I still give them a very good score but hope the next version is more comfortable and has a much more durable and longer lasting sole. I also hope the strap stiching is better than the Rialto's which evenutally fell apart and even separated from the sole at the heel.I use them for walking, not hiding, mostly on pavement, and never get them wet intentionally.

Keen Targhee 111 Mens Sandal
9 February 2023

Love them, I ummmed and ahhhhed about the sandals I was after to replace some Teva Tanza sandals I have worn for 4 years. I have worn Teva Tanza sandals for in excess of 10 years but they are no longer available, I even purchased 2nd hand sandals from the US but they decided they wouldn't ship them...My wife undertook an extensive internet search as she knew I was desperate and discovered the Keen Targhee as an alternative. Initially I was hesitant, I researched these sandals myself and noticed a lot of positive reviews. I travelled to my local Anaconda and checked the sandals out for myself although they didn't have my size in stock I was able to determine that I would give them ago and ordered a pair online.I have to say I love them, the materials are perfect ... MoreLove them, I ummmed and ahhhhed about the sandals I was after to replace some Teva Tanza sandals I have worn for 4 years. Poor quality compared to older versions
29 August 2024

Worse quality than older sandals. I had a pair of these that are several years old that I loved and wanted to replace, but this is not the same quality shoe at all. The sole on the pair I have now was multi-layered for flexibility plus strength. The part of sole that contacted the feet was a soft leather with ventilation so feet stayed cool. New shoes just have one piece rubber soles and the part connecting the feet is all rubber. Old ones were made in USA. New ones made in Vietnam. So Keen is going cheap and ruining quality of product. So disregard older positive reviews. Not the same shoe.

Sandals for husband
26 April 2024

My husband wanted a pair of sandals to wear all summer for walks and hikes, preferably sandals that could get wet. We regularly purchase Keens for our kids and appreciate the quality. I decided to surprise him with the Targhhee. I'm happy to say, my husband is super happy with the look, feel, and durability. We just went to Florida and he wore them constantly on the beach. They fit a smidge small but he was able to adjust the back strap. Going up a size would have been too big. Overall a great shoe, Keen proves to be a high quality, reliable brand once again.

Targhee III is redesigned from Rialto II 3 Point
25 September 2024

The Rialto II 3 Point sandal was a most comfortable "shoe." I bought 5 pairs and rotated through them each day. Gradually, they wore out and I sought to replace them. The Targhee III is clearly the redesigned version. The top surface of the sandal is no longer a soft material, but is a textured rubberized material for better durability, but is less comfortable for all day wear. The sole is "noisier" on hard surfaces, but I returned my first pair to get a 1/2 size larger, so I don't have experience with the sole wear and grip.

They are perfect
30 April 2024

First about sizing. I wear 11 in adidas shoes and 11.5 in Nike shoes and always wear size 12 in slides and most sandals so I went for size 12 in these keen sandals and they were absolutely perfect. They are not big by any measure they fit perfectly. I have bigger than usual ankles so that’s where I would have loved to see some extra room but not to worry they fit just fine on the outer limit for me personally. These sandals are very rugged and perfect for hiking as long as you don’t hike on a gravel surface which is what I had to do to climb higher to the hiking path but even gravel did not stop me from enjoying my hike in keen sandals. Not they are wonderful for hiking but if you plan on just walking in these then I’d recommend wearing something with a bit more ... MoreFirst about sizing. These aren’t very cushiony? If I can say it that way but they are great for climbing rocks and having a good grip. But for standing around maybe not these. You did submerge these in water and like the description claims they are definitely water proof as in they do not get ruined by getting them wet as ordinary leather shoes would. These are definitely one of my favorite shoes if I can call it that.Enjoy…

Very comfortable, functional, and durable sandal
15 September 2024

I needed a durable sandal for a trip to Greece that would involve hot weather, paved and unpaved surfaces, and the beach. These were rock solid on all counts. I have continued wearing them on warm days back home. My pair is now 3 months old, has been in the ocean twice, and walked on multiple surfaces without much wear. Still comfortable on my picky feet. For the first time since I was a kid I have a sandal tan on my feet. As with any sandal, things will still get caught if you walk through tall grass, or pine needles. Close to perfect is good enough.

Walk around sandals for daily use

This is the first time I brought a more casual sandal from Keen. I have other Keen footwear which I use to do water sports or hiking. What I like about these sandals are they are rather lightweight feel that run true to size, When walking in them, they do have a very natural feel. But, I do wonder if Keen could make the sole of sandal softer to enhance the comfort level. Perhaps, Keen’s thinking is to give the buyer more gripping in the sole. I would prefer a softer sole to enhance the comfort level since you would not use these sandals for sports.
