I've tried all of the flavors of the Kiehl's lip balms, and I think the best flavor for me is the mango because I love a sweet fruity fragrance for my lippies, and I just love mango in general. I’m using mint at my last tube, and it does have a little bit of a tingly menthol feeling when applied and smells just like mint. The formula is excellent, and works fast to soften lips! It's a little more liquidy compared to other lip balms which is why it comes in a tube dispenser. I believe the squalene in the formula does wonders to add moisture to lips, and it absorbs fast. I received this as a gift. I thought it was pretty decent at first, kind of like glorified Vaseline. I started to use it more regularly and was experiencing some discomfort. My lips felt red and irritated and kind of burned. I had tiny red patches on them. I did a search of things that are irritating to lips and there were at least 5 ingredients in the lip balm on that list. I stopped using it and made my own product of butters, oils, and vegan waxes and my lips no longer burn and are healing. In my experience, I cannot recommend this product. It’s also pricy for what it actually is. If you have sensitive lips, stay away. For this kind of money, go spend it on Evan Healy or make your own.

My lips were not as moisturised as compared to others. I used Carmex once and it fixed what the Kiehls failed on. I love some kiehls products but not all, this is one certainly I don’t love. If you want moisture the Tom Ford is highly suggested but like the Kiehls it leaves a shine, Boy de Chanel is effective with a matte finish if you prefer. Carmex or Bondi Sands if you will be outside and require SPF. If you like a petroleum jelly type consistency I much prefer the Tom Ford, however if you want something inexpensive in a stick form Carmex is equally as good as well as contains SPF. Good as mentioned previously for winter extreme chap lips but again I find the application the challenge. I would suggest to kiehls to reconfigure that and it will be a much more stand out product. I got this on a discount so I figured it’s worth a try. I will tell you that the Tom Ford Men’s lip balm is the best for a non stick form and for stick form I really love the Chanel Boy de Chanel .... this one has very intense consistency of petroleum jelly so I can see for winter it would be very effective and lathers on thick, I don’t like however that the packaging does not allow you to swipe it onto your lips but rather apply by hand, with covid as a hot topic I think this should be revised. It would be a much better 4 star product if that was improved. I will say it costs $10, if you don’t mind to spend more the Tom Ford men’s lip balm is much better and it glides into your lips without being so thick. The Tom Ford is $29.

Applicator

I love the lip balm, just not the lack of applicator. I fish a lot and can't use this when I need it the most. I would have to stop, wash my hands dry them just to add a little to my finger to apply it to my lips, then wash them again so not to get it on my rod and reel much less the bait/lure. Those are exhausting steps I shouldn't have to do every single time I want to use a product. I'm done buying anymore until you come out with an applicator. Especially in this day and time of Covid going around where I'm touching everything and have to stop what I'm doing find a bathroom wash and dry hands apply it then wash again to get it off my finger. Decent Lip Balm

I received a tube of this lip balm with one of Kiehl's holiday sets from last year. This is a very plain lip balm - there's no fragrance (which is great for people that have skin that's easily irritated by ingredients like fragrance) and no pigment.It doesn't really penetrate your lips and really moisturize your skin - it kind of just sits on the top of your lips. If you want something that's really moisturizing, I would use the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask at night, and then you could use this during the day. The first ingredient is petrolatum, which isn't the *best* ingredient for your skin, since it actually has no real long-term benefits for your skin. It's $2 more expensive than this balm for the same size, but I believe that it's more moisturizing and I love the flavors/colors (then again, my skin isn't irritated by fragrance or artificial coloring - I understand some peoples' skin does).While this lip balm doesn't have fragrance in it, it definitely has a chemical scent that I can't quite place. It's a bit similar to an Aquaphor scent, and if you accidentally swallow a little bit, it's not very pleasant.In conclusion, I would recommend this lip balm to people that like Kiehl's and/or have a sensitivity to fragrance/color in other lip balms. However, I do think that Vaseline is a cheaper alternative to this lip balm that is just as good; if you want to splurge a little bit more, then I'd recommend Glossier's Balm Dot Com for all of the options that they offer and its slightly better performance on my lips.

Great For Dry or Chapped Lips

You need this product if you have dry or chapped lips as it works so well on them. No matter what time of year I always like to use this product as it works wonders on my dry chapped lips. It is quite a thick product so a little goes a long way as it is quite a greasy product and doesnt sink in to your skin so be careful how much you apply. It can be used morning and night time and comes in a variety of flavours which is great. My one complaint would be the applicator it is just a normal tube rather than slanted at the top it is flat which I don't this is great for applying to lips.

MAGIC in a tube!

This lipbalm is MAGIC! I discovered it by pure luck - I was stuck in an airport between flights and there was a Kiehl's store and I decided to try it. Well, my life changed for the better. This is pure magic. I have all sorts of issues with my lips : they crack when seasons change, when it's dry, or cold, or... well, you get it. This lip balm is a life saver and it keeps my lips hydrated and healthy. It's really incredible. It's the only lip balm I'm now buying. I have a tube in the car, in my bag, in my living room, on a bed side table, in the office. It's really amazing. I hope Kielh's never stop making this cause my life would be ruined.

Sumptuous lips

Kiehls lip balm is an excellent product.There is nothing like smooth lips especially in thecold winter months ahead. This lip balm doesjust that. Before bed a little dab and in themorning beautiful smooth lips. Easy to applyyour lipstick or gloss for the day. As a retiredmakeup artist I definitely recommend thisproduct.

What a wonderful birthday surprise

I have been using Kiehl's products since I first started loving skincare in my early teens. I received this lip balm as a free gift with purchase for my birthday. I remember using this balm all through highschool of course now there are different flavors. I originally had the original formula so I thought I would switch it up and go with cranberry. It is still a clear color and has a very slight cranberry flavor/scent. It is super moisturizing while still being light weight and not sticky in any way. what a wonderful birthday gift thank you Kiehl's.

saved my lips

The weather changed where I am and I woke up recently with extremely chapped/bleeding and stinging/swollen lips. I’m still trying to determine what caused this sudden change but I am thanking my lucky stars I have some leftover kiehls #1 balm right now. It doesn’t sting and is protecting/repairing my lips from the damage done and making it so they don’t split again at every movement. I honestly just used to take this product for granted and happened to have it laying around. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have had this available and I will not be without a tube again in the winter.
