This inflatable Kong collar served its purpose and I'm confident my dog was more comfortable wearing this than the traditional, huge plastic cone. She could see, lay, sleep, walk around with no issues while wearing this. It may not be suited for dogs with wounds near their front paws or within their tongues reach but it works great for all other wounds further away from the dogs mouth. My dogs wound was just beneath her stomach and she couldn't reach it while wearing the Kong. She actually looked like she enjoyed sleeping with it on as it does provide support for the pets head while laying down. The only difficulty with the product was blowing it up. The nozzle has to be pinched a certain way to accept the inflation of air and also during deflation.

One of our labs recently went to the vets; had a hotspot. Vets gave us a plastic cone. No thank you. Those things are terrible. Ordered one from Chewy and it came in two days. Fastest service ever! We love Chewy! Didn’t use the cone yet; just wanted to have it on hand in case we need one again. We have two labs, Heath and Honey, and Dalmatian, Dottie. Very loved and spoiled. We take them to a local nursing home to share the love they have. Thanks again Chewy!!!!!

He had been neutered and he ate the clear plastic cone of shame in less than a day with alterations made, ie. Extra velcro, tie the ends with laces, masking tape to hold it together. There is no doubt he will chew and eat everything. Trust me, nothing works. Once his brain 🧠snaps, he's in another world of his own. He recovered well from nueter. Still has hormones still flowing and complete chaos. Lord help 🙏 me in my life, patience, breathe, and cope with this intense stress and anxiety. I purchased this for my Cavapoo in a smaller size when she was spayed. I was thrilled. She actually loved wearing it, was able to eat, drink, enter her crate and do all the things Cavapoo puppies do without interference. However, she couldn't reach her incision and pretty much ignored it when she couldn't get to it. I bought this one in a BIG size for an 88 lb baby that my friend was rescuing, healing and hopefully placing in a loving home. He's a big ol' baby and a big ol' clutz, but he's a teddy bear! He had been injured with a gaping, deep, infected and maggot infested wound on his neck. He was covered in fleas and in a lot of pain. My friend was treating him but with minimal funds, she needed a few things for him exclusively. I have a large male GSD. I measured his neck to be 23 inches around. Unfortunately, the two ends on the XL donut (20-25 inches) do not come close to meeting. If I pull the velcro strap snug, it will limit his breathing. It's very well made and seems like it would work- being much more comfortable than the cone. I like the idea of a soft donut. I'll will keep it anyway in case my other dog should ever need it. I gave it 3 stars as I would recommend the XL for a smaller neck.
The collar has been a godsend for my small dog after spaying. She is a foster, full of quirks and quite fearful, she hates even her harness and regular collar, but this for some reason she does not mind. On the contrary, I think she likes having it around her neck. :) And it certainly is much more comfortable than the cone. The three stars are due to the collar arriving with a completely closed valve for blowing it up; obviously a manufacturing mistake and not difficult to correct (by piercing it with a sharp object), but still a mistake that should not have passed the quality control.

They’ll also be able to reach their front paws with little effort. Any other area, this works great and is a comfortable alternative to plastic elizabethan collars. Don’t inflate it all the way. About halfway full gives enough cushion. It has loops inside meant to put the dog’s collar through, which will keep it on securely. We don’t put collars on our bulldogs, but this stayed on really well with only the velcro strap that goes around the outside. She could push it off if she really tried, but I didn’t leave her alone when it was on. I went with the xl for my 75 lb boxer mix to be on the safe side. He's tall but still pretty lean so I worried he would be able to work around smaller collar. I'm glad I did! He is a good boy and if we ask him not to do something, he usually listens. This collar is not too restricting for him. he can actually get it off if he really wanted to, and has during a zoomies episode! But it doesn't bother him too much so he leaves it on. I use it for the day time and a recovery suit at night so he doesn't get caught on anything or lose the collar. I'm pretty sure he loves having a pillow attached for naps, he's been falling asleep sitting up! I actually ordered the recovery suit with the intent of returning one of the two products but the suit is equally great for night time.
Maisy had double ACL surgery and needed a cone for 2 weeks while she recovered. She was clearly anxious wearing the cone and it was so oversized that she couldn't eat or drink with it on, even though the Vet assured us she would be able to do so. After one day with that awful cone I ordered this donut. It arrived bright and early the next morning! You definitely have to use it with a collar to that it stays on. We had no trouble with inflating it and it stayed inflated for days. It lost a little air after about 4 days, but we just blew it up again. Our pup was much more comfortable. She was able to eat and drink and also sleep comfortably with this donut.
