Etat Libre d'Orange La Fin Du Monde ... I love, love !!! The design is localized, and ... As if nothing more ... But !!! This is a glued label !!! spoils the whole view. Makes it cheap .. But, who knows that the contents of this bottle are simply a divine elixir, of course, it doesn’t matter what design the bottle has. Parfume, just SUPER !!! FOR ALL CASES OF LIFE !!!

Lovely + secure packaging, high quality atomisers and the extra was a nice touch! Really glad to be able to sample these perfumes at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back for more!

Very interesting fragrance, although definitely usable by both sexes, the sweetness makes me want to smell this rather on a woman.

Hanging out in the online fragrance community and visiting some unique fragrance boutiques did give me warning that Etat Libre D'Orange had some unique perfumes, and La Fin Du Monde, which is my first selection out of their Almost Complete Discovery Set is made up of one of the most unique set of notes/accords I've seen. I guess an "End of the World" fragrance would have to be interesting! We've got popcorn, carrot seed, cumin seed, sesame, black pepper, freesia, vetiver, sandalwood, ambrette, orris, styrax, and canon powder! To my nose, this is a very earthy clean, fresh, peppery scent. Thankfully, it doesn't smell like popcorn and cumin at all to me! It's completely inoffensive, in a your-skin-but-better sort of way. It has the tiniest hint of sweetness to offset the pepper and earthy floral. It's a beautiful blend and I genuinely like it!
Powdery iris and buttery popcorn. It’s surprisingly soft and inoffensive. I’m not sure what gunpowder smells like.
La Fin du Monde EDP, released in 2013, is classified as a woody aromatic fragrance with notes of gunpowder, popcorn, iris, carrot seed, ambrette, black pepper, and sandalwood. Imagine that you have somehow survived a catastrophe of biblical proportions. Your head lifts above the darkness to find that you have been covered in black soot and residual gunfire. You search through the almost certainly destroyed ground for any sign of life. Suddenly, you find one, but not in the way you think - you find a single standing iris. You become overjoyed, optimistic that life maybe didn't die out after all. TLDR, it's dark and peppery at first but becomes softly woody and powdery as it ages. It's certainly a unique blend that would need an air of confidence, or the right ... You become overjoyed, optimistic that life maybe didn't die out after all. TLDR, it's dark and peppery at first but becomes softly woody and powdery as it ages. It's certainly a unique blend that would need an air of confidence, or the right mindset, to pull off. Performance is average for this EDP, though - moderate sillage, and lasts up to 5 hours on the skin. This perfume house has got a way with scent concoctions, and this is no exception. Much like Attaquer de Soleil, it doesn't quite live up to its moniker, as it projects a softer approach to the end of the world as we probably have pictured it. Sure, it starts out abrasive and dark, but whimpers out into this soft buttery powder. Not very threatening and bleak, if you ask me. This is certainly another one to sample before buying in full, but I would probably think of this as a very weak interpretation of what the end could be. However, if you've never tried a gunpowder opening in a fragrance, sample this one.
One of my favourite scents! The gunpowder and popcorn make it so unique. I bought this a couple months ago and have been wearing it frequently ever since. I only wish it would last a little longer.
This is one of the most unusual perfumes in my collection. I own a couple samples and a full sized bottle. The popcorn and gunpowder are definitely present as well as some other herby, earthy notes.Etat Libre d'Orange is a house I'm about to give up on, in terms of personal wearability. I am a fan of the house and I enjoy their sassiness and unusual perfumes, but all the ones I've tried have a bothersome note when worn on my skin. I don't know if it's the same note (as in the base) or if the bothersome note here is different from the bothersome notes in their other offerings. In this case, I feel like it's the carrot seed. The perfume is creative, cohesive, and not unpleasant. I just don't enjoy it on my skin.
La Fin Du Monde, both in title and scent conjure up the excitement of the cinema. Just imagine: the plush velvet chairs underneath you, the slightly metallic and plastic-y wind of the projector in the back, the large cone of toffee popcorn in your hand, and on the screen, the latest apocalyptic blockbuster. Canon's are firing, Paris is on fire, you're captivated yet safe in the confines of your seat. La Fin Du Monde brings all of these images to mind. As a scent, it is not worlds away from the likes of La Vie Est Belle, it's toffee-sugary sweet, but this has a kick to it, the seedy notes and the gunpowder give it a bang, a pop, an explosive nature which makes the opening of the scent exciting as well as yummy. The iris, popcorn and seedy notes are very prominent throughout, making this a scent which would appeal perhaps more to women than men. Overall a delicious addition to the Etat Libre d'Orange collection. The only negative aspect of the fragrance is the lasting power. I get around 2-3 hours, but maybe others will have more luck. Overall positive though!
This is a safe scene for the office, but still edge enough to scratch my nichey-goth itches. My partner isn't really into fragrance but he likes this one. Winner.
