From what I have learned by using both, the original is a thicker cream and ideal for dry to very dry skin types while this La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream is very smooth and blends easily into the oily or combo skin. La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream feels light and airy on the skin. It did not clog my pores or caused me any breakouts. I have combination skin, for your reference. It keeps my skin moisturized longer than usual. It does not feel oily or heavy on the skin. There is no residue. I love massaging it for a few seconds on some days and other days, I just quickly apply it. Apart from being soothing and moisturizing, it makes the skin supple and radiant. The fine lines and problem areas look blurred and diminished, thanks to the key ingredients including moisturizing spheres. La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream Review It works well for both morning and evening. In the mornings, I follow with sunscreen. It stays well under the makeup too. Overall, a really nice cream that targets the key concerns as well as improves overall skin health.

A must have in my routine!

I received this product as a gift from La Mer and I’m so very thankful I did! I absolutely love this product. This product is expensive but for good measure - it really works! My next splurge will be the full size version of this because it really is that good and worth every dollar. Even after the first use, I could already see and feel a difference with the firmness of my skin especially on my cheeks and forehead. This moisturizer has a light weight texture to it which is good because it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on your face. My face tends to stay very dry regardless of the season of the year and this moisturizer instantly made it feel so much better. Dream Cream then and still!

This was my dream cream of the 90's and 2000's and I was fortunate to be able to afford it twice in my life, (in my 20's and again in my 30's). My skin loved it then and was the best product I had used at the time. Now, I just turned 40 been using lots of actives for years, and decided to splurge on it again after being gifted vouchers for SpaceNK and wow I am marvelled at how much my skin adores Creme De La Mer! Nothing has quite lifted my skin and made is so bouncy, plump, and alive. My nasolabial folds are barely visible, and cheeks so volumous.There are a million articles and videos making fun of this cream, and yet it endures, and those who are devoted to it are devoted for a reason.Its properly a bit miraculous. I adore Creme De La Mer.

Greasy, extremely overpriced

With this moisturizer being as pricey as it is ($200 for 1oz), I was expecting it to be the GOAT of moisturizers. Unfortunately it left my skin feeling greasy and not hydrated. I received a complimentary sample size for testing and am glad I don’t feel I need to finish an entire jar. I am also not a fan of the powdery floral scent, very old fashioned smelling and off-putting. I’ve seen some boss on this product but could never justify that price tag, it is a miss for me. Don’t believe the hype. To the La Mer team, if you are looking to capture a younger audience to keep this brand alive you really need to step it up. There are so many budget-friendly moisturizers that perform (and smell) better than this.

I have server allergies after soft cream, am I the only one?

I have been using the thicker cream for years, along with other essence, lotions products and I really enjoyed them. La mer is always my to go choice esp. when I have seasonal allergies.For the first time, I purchased the 1 oz soft cream, but ended with redness and sting sensation on my face. I suspected the sunburn, authenticity of the product, but no, after back and forward testing on my skin, I confirmed that I am allergic to the soft cream. This is really disappointing, I don't know what went wrong? New ingredients in the formula? I looked online and saw people posting similar experiences, I had trial size of soft cream before, never had the issue. Now I am really upset and feel like can't fully trust La Mer products anymore.

Really soft

This is one of my favourite skincare products. It’s rich in texture and smells luxurious. On application my skin is softened, supple and luminous. I have sensitive skin that's prone to breakouts and the cream doesn’t clog my pores and skin is moisturised throughout the day and night. I remember using an expired product which led to a rash and a dry patch on my neck. After using this product for a couple of weeks both the rash and dry patch were gone. I also slightly burned my skin from derma rolling and accidentally using AHA and this cream really helped restore my skin. Say goodbye to dry skin and hello hydrated skin

My skin is soft more hydrated since using this cream. My wrinkles on my forehead even look smoother and less noticeable. Before I used this my chin was flakey and dry most the time but been using this for a few days and my chin is smooth no flakes. My skin is softer and younger looking after using it for a little over 5 days. I definitely would recommend you try this if your struggle with dry skin and winkles. My skin has never been better for sure! It has a fresh scent and creamy consistency. The first photo is before you can see my wrinkles more than in the photo after I started using the cream which is the second photo.

Smells and feels amazing, price is not amazing

I absolutely LOVE the product itself. It has a very light scent to it. I received a free sample randomly in the mail ( I am NOT an influencer at all, barely use social media actually). I had planned on buying it but the price is absolutely outrageous. I have a very large disposable income but even I can't justify spending this much on a moisturizer. Would I recommend to a friend? Yes and no. The product truly is amazing but the price is just not worth it. I would actually feel guilty buying such an expensive product that only lasts so long, and this is coming from someone that literally spends thousands a year on fine jewelry for myself but that at least feels rare. Yuck! Absolutely no for me

I received a generous sample in a GWP and have saved this as one of the last to try from that box. The consistency is awful: really thick like a barrier cream. It needs to be dragged across skins to ensure coverage and absorption. I even tried heating in my hands but it didn’t help. In addition, two days after using it, I started to suffer an unpleasant tightening and itching across my face, by day four this was a full on dermatitis reaction including swollen eyelids, flaking skin and severe itching. Having read a few reviews on here, it appears I am not the only one who gets a similar reaction to this cream. It’s now in the bin. There are far, far better creams at much lower prices available
