To get the most effective results, I apply several layers of mascara. I then allow my lashes to dry and I apply a final coat to my lashes after the first few coats are dried. The great thing about this product is that in just a few minutes after application (and even several hours later) my lashes are separated, defined, fanned-out and look just as good as they would immediately after a lash curl and tint appointment. The curved brush is fantastic and unlike my previous mascaras, the wand never smeared all over my face nor did I need to ruin my makeup trying to remove it. Additionally, a consistent amount of product is deposited onto the wand without clumping. I am so relieved to have found a mascara that keeps my lashes long, sturdy and soft throughout the day. I will definitely buy another one once this one runs out!

Better than Better Than Sex

I am constantly trying new mascaras. I don't wear false lashes so I'm always on the lookout for a mascara that gives me a lot of volume and length, will last all day, and doesn't look like a big clumpy mess. I buy mini sizes so I don't feel too guilty throwing away a mascara if it disappoints. I bought this in full size after I used the mini up. I love this mascara and use it nearly every day (I still have a few others I keep giving second chances to because I love feeling disappointed and wishing I made better choices before I even get to work in the morning). I get beautiful volume and length, and no clumping. I don't need to reapply during the day. I can create work-lashes or date night-lashes depending on how many coats I use. If you haven't used wet formulas often, just go slowly and with a little care, or you may get some clumping or your lashes sticking together. A spoolie is a tool everyone who wears mascara should have. I prefer this mascara to Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara.

I used to wear makeup every day of the week before I had my son a year ago. It's narrow enough to get into the crease of your eyes and for your hand to maneuver around your eye to apply it, yet thick enough to cover every lash with precision so that you don't need to apply a second coat, let alone the 2 to 3 most brand mascara products require. It's not waterproof, which is great because I prefer my mascara not to be, but it has really good staying power that lasts through a full day of watching my son, a toddler at 1+ teething and the whole nine yards, and it lasts through all of the harshness I put it through. The only negative thing I would say about it is that you can end up getting racoon eyes, BUT ONLY, and the only time I truly noticed it, was after I accidentally fell asleep and woke up the next morning. The positive in the negative would be that not even half of it came off during my deep sleep. If you want mascara that's greatly versatile, stays throughout the day without reapplying it every few hours, and looks great without making your eyelashes look fake or clumpy....GET THIS!! I would endorse and back this mascara 100%, in a break from mom life of course!

MY NEW HOLY-GRAIL MASCARA?

I am absolutely OBSESSED with the new Lancome Lash Idole Lash Lifting & Volumizing mascara! First of all, the packaging is a very sleek and cute and a sturdy plastic, but isn't lightweight/cheap-feeling. I like the shape of it so when I set it on my vanity it doesn't roll onto the floor. The wand for this is also very nice--not too stiff but also not too flexible. The formula is a very nice non-flakey one that stays put all day and is actually one of the few that doesn't leave behind smudges when my lashes touch near my brows. It also is not so wet upon opening that you make a mess and get it everywhere. My BIGGEST requirement for mascaras is the ease to wash away since I have very sensitive eyes. This Lancome mascara does it all for me honestly. It lifts my lashes, gives them volume, and I swear it even curls my lashes, which is great because I don't prefer to use lash curlers as they can damage them! One thing I will say about this product however is that it does have a scent. However I kind of weirdly like it and find it to be a little luxurious and only notice it when holding the wand near my nose, but even with sensitive eyes (and dry eyes) it does not irritate them one bit. It also isn't too chunky and would work well in a makeup bag for on-the-go. I don't often buy high-end mascaras but I will SERIOUSLY be picking up another one of these! I really enjoy the Maybelline Sky High mascara but this one combs through my lashes better so they don't look as clumpy and spidery! They look long and I do not feel the need to wear falsies with this. It is my new holy-grail! I 100% recommend anybody on the fence to try this as you will fall in love! None of their mascaras disappoint, and this one is another hit for me.

Perfect for straight lashes

I did think I would be left disappointed as I expected to find that my Asian lashes were just not suited to the formulas produced in the West. But I know the French are very well known for having simple but beautiful eye makeup, so gave it a dabble by getting a limited edition mini pack with the Monsieur Big mascara and the Cils Booster XL primer. I am so impressed with not only how easily this glides onto my lashes but the CURL AND HOLD is to die for - I have never seen my eyelashes look this good with only mascara, and I didn't know it could happen at all. I've had my eye lashed curled for special events by professional makeup counter services in the past, but I was never pleased with the final look anyway (I was a teenager, so I was not equipped with the knowledge I have now to micro-manage my makeup appointments for the results I want rather than "leaving it to the professionals"). I get a very cute fan like long up curl to the parts of my lashes that have been extended, and the shape and length holds almost without fault for an entire day including a long time out and about in humid heatwave weather. And I barely have to swipe a couple of times to get the desired finish I would never be able to achieve with my old favorites (UD Perversion and TF Better than Sex). UD would lengthen my lashes, but they would not be curled properly & looked as thin as ever, and the TF thickened, but it was very hard work to reduce the sticking and clumping of lashes, and in the end have way too much formula on my lashes that would look ghastly and too fat in a spidery way that I personally got tired of looking at as I find the fake lash look very off putting on my more soft features. This looks so natural on me, and I actually want to wear makeup more casually now thanks to this easy, lightweight, lasting formula.

Works well but don't cry in it!

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I have used many mascaras over the years, both drugstore and high end, and this one is quite good. It takes just a few swipes to get dramatic results. I have pretty long lashes naturally, and this mascara did a great job of highlighting that length. It curled my lashes in such a way that they looked almost vertical after just one coat. The bended shape of the wand is a bit odd and not ideal for my almond-shaped eyes, but might work well for people with rounder eyes. The formula is not clumpy, although it did make my lashes bunch up a bit so it looked like they were fewer in number but very thick. It was only for a minute, but my mascara was streaming down my face immediately. It also stained my cheeks so I couldn't fix the situation without completely removing my makeup. I've used other non-waterproof mascaras that smudge/run when wet but could be tidied and corrected. I find myself hesitant to wear the Lash Idole mascara now knowing that if it rains or my eyes water even a little, my entire look might be ruined. Something to keep in mind if you have allergies or live in a rainy climate. Still, the formula is very good otherwise, so I may in fact purchase the waterproof version in the future.
