Honestly, I'm surprised by all the highly positive reviews. If you're using this on Mac at least, the experience isn't great. The app is problematic (every single time you join a Zoom call you have to re-launch the app to get a wider angle - every single time). The camera has trouble focusing and, in particular, getting exposure right. To give you context, I sit with a window behind me, so admittedly I do sometimes have a relatively strong backlight happening. So it's definitely a challenging environment to some degree. But the camera often really struggles - either I'm completely blacked out (like I'm in witness protection), or the exposure is extremely strong. So I would say, just beware here - the environment you're in will greatly impact the performance of this ... MoreHonestly, I'm surprised by all the highly positive reviews. I thought I had ordered a brand new one and when it arrived it came in a one of those bubble wrap bags. I was devastated but upon further inspection the lease wasn’t scratched and it worked good on my computer. There was one part where it was slightly scratched it was on the matte part of the front body of the webcam but it’s okay. One area still had protective film. The gift is for my boyfriend but in my eyes I feel like it has a nice look when it comes to video quality. It’s not the Logitech Brio but it’s the next best thing in the Logitech family in my opinion. I’ll give it 4/5 just because the packaging should’ve been in a box in my opinion if felt weird to receive something like this in a padded bag.

Some constraints but overall good value

While its auto-focusing and image quality aren't the best out there, the 1080p resolution proved to be a decent balance between clarity and not putting too much strain on the internet capacity. The compact design makes it really easy to stow away everyday and quickly prop up when needed.A downside to its form factor though is the inability to horizontally tilt the camera, which in my case often means I need to swivel my entire monitor to get the desired horizontal angle. A detachable cable would also have been nice: that way I can keep the usb end plugged-in at all times and only set up the camera part when needed, instead of digging into the back of my PC to unplug the usb everytime I want to put the camera away (I could of course just leave it there, but ... MoreWhile its auto-focusing and image quality aren't the best out there, the 1080p resolution proved to be a decent balance between clarity and not putting too much strain on the internet capacity. The compact design makes it really easy to stow away everyday and quickly prop up when needed.A downside to its form factor though is the inability to horizontally tilt the camera, which in my case often means I need to swivel my entire monitor to get the desired horizontal angle. It's pure placebo/OCD but I'm sure this applies to many others out there). The cable is a bit of a chore in my use case. From my admittedly non-expert experience, the logitech in-house software (called LogiCapture or something like that) is pretty simple to navigate and has useful functions, HOWEVER the software becomes recognised by the PC as sort of a virtual camera as its own entity and can easily make your browser/meeting software confused and unable to access actual footage. So it takes some effort to understand the technical arrangements arround that IF you choose to use the software which, as mentioned, has some useful extra features like exposure or image size adjustment.Overall though, it's quite handy for its price, especially for someone like me who has occasions that absolutely requires a webcam yet do not need it everyday hence justifying a higher price investment.

Web Cam

It's a well built product: out of the box it comes with a very nice metal tri-pod that feels very sturdy, but to be perfectly honest I felt like there should have been a little more pride in the product with a nice C922 model number etched into the camera housing some place. The camera itself is slightly on the heavier side for something you would expect of that size, I thought it was a good thing because it made me believe the product had a higher density of circuitry inside. The FPS had improved from my last camera and the 1080HD is very good, it produces crystal clear image quality using the room lighting alone. The only downside of all webcams is they're powerless to improve the cam software, unfortunately even after I upgraded my webcam to the Logitech's C922 ... MoreIt's a well built product: out of the box it comes with a very nice metal tri-pod that feels very sturdy, but to be perfectly honest I felt like there should have been a little more pride in the product with a nice C922 model number etched into the camera housing some place. The only downside of all webcams is they're powerless to improve the cam software, unfortunately even after I upgraded my webcam to the Logitech's C922 my screencast software is still filming my lips with poor latency, the same issue doesn't persist while using the Windows-11 camera program. Those are the only two applications I've tried using it with. Lastly I was disappointed that there wasn't a cam-light built into the frame of the camera but then I realized it's actually better for computer performance if the lighting isn't drawing power from the computer directly, plugging an external light source into the wall is more professional and reduces the power demand from the desktop allowing it to continue juicing up/overclocking my CPU %26 GPU (or at least running it with out losing power). Final comment "I love it, I use it every day and I got a super deal at Walmart, I was thinking about the Dell camera for about $100 then saw the Logitech for $44.99 and was sold in the blink of an eye".

[Rewarded Review] Could be better for the price
22 November 2023

My Nexigo, for some reason, on the new Asus simply would not work. So I bought this one hoping it was superior or at least comparable. Its attractive and the casing is well made but for the price, I expected better quality. More expensive ($99 vs $55) isn't always better. I wish it had left and right rotation like my Nexigo (I just assumed it would but it doesn't and locks). I also wish it had a privacy screen that I used a lot. The picture quality was surprisingly grainy (to me) but my Zoom app cleaned up some of the 'noise'. Im not sure if I will keep this or return it. I will circle back as I use it.

[Rewarded Review] Great Accessories
30 July 2024

Nice little camera. I purchased to view product flowing through an x-ray machine that I was setting up for a customer. The quality is decent in a well lit environment, but I really wish that Logitech had integrated some sort of LED lighting. I was able to use the mini tripod as a temporary handle, which I used to feed the camera into the side of the x ray machine compartment. Saved me from having to go out and purchasing a high dollar item like a go pro. Not bad, but again a built in light would be great!I used the video capture software provided on the Logitech website. Pictures taken with adjustments to exposure to see in dark space.

[Rewarded Review] Great Product for Online Business Meetings
8 December 2023

Nice camera and software that performs really well. Very much met my expectations for Zoom meetings and online work that I do. Mics are decent but not great; perfect for meetings and such. Not the best for recording audio for media I've found. The Tripod is a really nice addition that I absolutely use, but it is on the cheap side. It can easily come loose if you go to adjust/move the camera and you have to re-tighten it. Not a big deal, just something to note that it is built for the camera and stationary use.

[Rewarded Review] Great Webcam for Your Monitor
1 November 2023

This works great as a webcam clipped on your PC monitor. Picture quality is good mounted but if you use it on its cable to take pictures holding it by hand it may take multiple shots to get in focus. Best used mounted on the monitor. Sound recording not that good. It sounds better at higher resolutions but then because of cachet size your videos won't upload online in most places. You get what you pay for and for the price I am satisfied with the results. I have used Logitech products for years and know that some may have limitations but overall, they perform well.
