At first I didn’t think I liked this swaddle when I received a hand-me-down from a friend because I thought a “proper” swaddle pinned the baby’s arms down at their sides. However, I’ve tried a number of other swaddles like that, including Embe, SnuggleMe and Halo, and they all creep up over my baby’s face. Also, both my sons have tried to sneak their arms out of the swaddle so they can have their hands near their faces, and I finally realized the genius of this swaddle. No extra fabric to cover their mouths and faces, and they can still touch their faces with their hands, or stick their hands in their mouths, through their swaddle. I plan to keep buying the next size up until I’m done swaddling my youngest and give away the rest of my swaddles.

Our 5 week old has decided she doesn’t want to sleep anymore in her bassinet. We have been on the hunt to try finding the perfect swaddle for her. We have heard such good reviews on this one so we gave it a try. I think she got the worst sleep with this one. I don’t know if the material is what she didn’t like or if it was to thin. It was really tight around her torsos and kinda on her neck. She is only 8 pounds and a small was to small. We only tried it for 2 days and gave up. Even in her deep sleep, when we put her down. She would wake up. She looked uncomfortable in it. If your trying out different swaddles I would still try this one out. So many people love it and just because my baby didn’t. My daughter just turned a month old, and is too strong for her swaddle blankets now (breaking free). Her startle reflex is terrible. She takes forever to fall asleep, and wakes herself constantly when not tightly swaddled. Her swaddle blankets did a great job containing her reflex, she got peaceful sleep. she’s just too strong to wear them now & I do not want her breaking free for safety reasons. I wanted to get her a safe swaddle that she couldn’t break free from. She does like to self soothe with her hands by her face, so I thought I’d give this swaddle a try. After a week of miserable sleep, I’m returning this product. I tried to give it time, but it’s not for us. While it keeps her safe, it does not contain her startle reflex at ALL. Great for tiny babies! Our baby was less than 7 lb and all the other swaddles we tried either weren’t tight enough on her legs to calm her startle reflex or the fabric rode up over her chin and covered her mouth. This one sits below her chin and doesn’t ride up even when she kicks around. She likes her hands up by her face so the design of this one is ideal. The fabric is soft and stretchy, kind of like a thick jersey knit. This swaddle is also the fastest to put on and take off which is essential for nighttime feeds and diaper changes.
This is the perfect swaddle for babies who won’t keep their arms down. My 6 week old has been breaking out of other swaddles since almost birth. I have used the blankets from the hospital, muslin blankets, halo swaddle, and more. None of those allowed my son to keep his arms up, where he wanted. This keeps the startle reflex from waking him. The abdomen area is very very snug- providing the compression of a swaddle. Worth the money, for sure. Take note- you are supposed to wash after each wearing, so you should buy 2 for rotation.
This swaddle is one of our top five “must have” products from the day we brought our baby home from the hospital- he’s now 12 weeks old and still uses it every night. We bought the next size up as well since he outgrew the small. Our little one loves that his hands are up, much more than traditional swaddles where arms are down. I love that it unzips from top or bottom- the bottom makes it easier to do diaper changes in the middle of the night, without unswaddling his arms. Baby sleeps 11+ hours for us. I’ve woken up myself in the middle of the night and he is awake, but this swaddle helps him self-soothe back to sleep without any help.
Lately my baby has gotten out of his swaddle. We have been using Muslim blankets compared to a regular swaddle. When we brought him home from the hospital, we tried putting him a halo swaddle but he hated it. So we just continued to use the Muslim blankets. Got him all nice and tight. After three nights of him getting out I made sure to get something he couldn’t get out. Talked to my friends and asked what they use. They couldn’t say anything wrong with this one. Let’s just say I got 5 solid hours of sleep…I’m a happy mama! He loves it and we will continue to use it!
Woof!! What a journey to find something that works!! My little guy hates to be swaddled but startles himself all night during sleep which causes all sorts of noises even in his sleep. When we swaddled arms down in any way/brand, he grunted until pulling himself free. I promise you a 7 week old can un-Velcro a swaddle if they’re determined!! Lol Finally circled around to this one that I originally saw but was detoured from because let’s face it, it looks AWFUL! But it works!! Little man can keep his arms up, he’s comfortable and (knock on wood, & throw salt over your shoulder) he actually slept an extra two hours.. 5.5 hours total!! I had high hopes for this swaddle. And unfortunately, it didn’t work for us. I gave it 3 stars because I loved the lightweight material & the two way zipper..making diaper changes a dream! But there were some major & alarming flaws. We have an extremely wiggly & strong 2 week old. Somehow she was able to almost completely flip herself on her side due to her arms being bent & having the ability to push off with her elbow. I also wasn’t a fan of the fact that her pacifier would get lodged between her face & arm when she would try spit it out at night. To me, this felt just as dangerous as having her being able to roll over. I can’t imagine using this swaddle on an older baby & the potential hazard it could cause!
