The built in drop down sun visor does not come down far enough. The main visor on top of the helmet is cheap and creaks going down the road. I paid $430 for this helmet and feel like I was played. All around low quality helmet for high quality price. Looks good though

Amazing Helmet for LONG OVAL head shape, NOT Intermidiate oval!

First of all, I did not purchase this from RevZilla. I purchased this helmet from a company in the Netherlands. Secondly, I do not believe Revzilla has even had their hands on this helmet. I have a Klim Krios, which is an intermediate oval, unfortunately, the Krios does not fit my head shape, I am left with pressure points on my forehead, and unable to ride for long periods of time in the Krios. I so wanted the Krios to work, because of the weight and the build quality. Alas, it does not. However, on the LS2 website (a Spanish company), they list this helmet as long oval. I am not sure why Revzilla list as intermediate oval, I assume that will sell more helmets, as this shape is what most people are. However, RevZilla is not correct, the only 2 helmets that fit me comfortably, are my Icon airframe (long oval) and this LS2. Not quite as light as the Krios, it is approx 96 grams heavier, however, unlike the Krios this helmet has a flip-down sun visor, which is a feature I love. If the Krios had a flip-down sun visor, the weights would be comparable. I have ridden with this helmet on several long off road rides and it is so comfortable (because it is a long oval, not an intermediate oval as you list!!), the visor has an amazing field of view, the lining is super comfortable, and yes, this will take a communication unit (I have a cardio pactalk installed, and the helmet does have speaker wells). Ventilation is awesome, with multiple vents, I also vary the peak position all the time as it is adjustable on the fly. This helmet also comes with pinlock, and hardware to change it to a street helmet (removing the peak). I paid $370 for this helmet, 4 days shipping from the Netherlands (Fedex free). This helmet is an absolute steal for the price I paid (remember it's only a steal if you are a long oval!! Do not believe RevZilla's shape claim, go to the company website and check for yourself)

Beware of sizing
2 October 2023

I bought the LS2 Explorer Carbon to replace an LS2 Blaze and an older, nicer modular helmet. I really like the LS2 Blaze especially for the cost but it is a tiny bit small in size Med.So I sized up to a Large Explorer Carbon. The size Large Explorer is SMALLER than the size Med Blaze. In the Blaze I get a bright red pressure spot on my forehead in about 1 hour. In the Explorer in just 5 minutes. The chin strap is also mounted farther back and feels like it's choking me if I look up.Everything about this helmet seems a little to a lot nicer than the Blaze but the fit is noticeably smaller.

Good but also not the best!
21 April 2022

recently bought this helmet, lets call it good.riding a F800GSA... even with the windshield i get shaky plasticky vibrations from the peak... the helmet is em well.. loud... padding seems to be very minimal and "missing" around the ears... i would imagine its for the Com-system...although i dont see where you would install the receiver unit on the helmet. The helmet is also quite cold if youre riding in the colder months, so wear thermal gear under it.vision is GREAT, love the shapeBreathes really well.oh and seems to be designed to protect your neck area from rock etc.clip is very sturdy and easy to use

LS2 ADV HELMET, BEST OF THE BEST FROM THEM ???
5 July 2022

I've owned about a dozen LS2's over the years, street and dirt. This is my 1st LS2 ADV lid. Titanium/Hi-viz yellow. I went "up" in size, and got a fine fit, that's getting to be the norm with most helmets. The sunvisor and main shield are clear, good tint to the sunvisor. The issue of glasses is the best facilitation of ANY helmet I've ever worn. The much appreciated "click/lock" ratcheting chin buckle was an initial hassle to latch, release was/is a joy. Vents work within reason of the bike you're riding, coverage your windscreen provides etc. - a subjective issue, but my F700GS makes the vents work decently.NOW: Those cheek pads !!! $500 for a name brand ADV helmet should grant you a much higher quality return. They become disconnected from the shell far to easily, engineering needed there. The drop-down sun visor becomes a distraction because it comes down 1/2 way, then crooked, then jammed, then stuck up. You get the idea.It fits great, is ultra comfy, honestly very quiet, superb optics to see thru even with a 3rd window (glasses) to see thru.NOTE: I whined a little in my reporting to Revzilla gurus about the negatives of the helmet, and I was aided by John, dude is a jewel !!! TEAM REVZILLA ROCKS, but LS2 needs a buttoned down quality control engineer on staff before anything is released to the public... KID K. TAC. WA.

Looks Great, Fits Perfectly but Room for Improvement

The helmet look very sharp and having the clear main visor with the internal sun visor is very handy. Previously my helmets have been mirror tinted but this is a better combination for riding day and night. I have only two complaints with the helmet. Firstly, the sun visor does not deploy low enough, it's just about sufficient below your line of sight, but it would have been more effective if it screened more of the sun. Additionally the red border along the sun visor , looks cool from the outside but it is directly in your line of sight, you get used to it but it's impossible not to see such a bold design border right in front of your eyes.Secondly, and this may be unique to my specific unit, the cheek pads would pop off every time I removed the helmet, annoying ... MoreThe helmet look very sharp and having the clear main visor with the internal sun visor is very handy. For one reason or another they would not remain firmly clipped into position, perhaps my unit was defective in this regard, but I placed a couple dabs of blue locktite to keep them in place and that works well for now and I shouldn't have any major issues when I need them removed later. But this should not be necessary with a brand new helmet.

Not for me
21 September 2021

This is advertised as a long oval shape. I would say it's halfway between long and intermediate oval. For me (Arai Signet head) the helmet was too short and too wide. The other problem for me was the chin strap. It's a bulky solution to a non-problem and it's located too far toads the rear, choking me when tightened appropriately. I needed up going with the Xtra Carbon which is a true long oval shape and much lighter as well but you need googles. (no visor, sun shade, and simple D ring strap closure).

Super impressed

I received my LS2 Explorer helmet today and I must say I am super impressed for the reasonable price. The quality is excellent and the colors of this helmet look great with my red white and blue 2021 BMW R1250GS Adventure. At unboxing helmet was well packaged with a nice padded carrying bag. Open the bag and again another great colorful soft pull string bag and then finally a white protective clothish bag.. The helmets face shield and sun visor have a protective plastic pull off. Helmet came with pinlock shield for face shield which was very easy to install. (Just read the instructions) also came with other accessories just in case you want to transform your dual sport helmet into a street helmet essentially it’s removing the top peak and adding 3 small pieces. ... MoreI received my LS2 Explorer helmet today and I must say I am super impressed for the reasonable price. Helmet looks great either way! A cool little item that came with helmet is a blow up helmet support. I guess it goes around your neck like a Tavel pillow. Not sure if practical but nice gesture. Or maybe you can use it to support your your helmet on the table while you work on it to prevent scratches and damage. Anyway, Only small complaint is ratchet style chin strap...... only because I have always had helmets with the traditional D rings straps. I just have to get used to it. Just be gentle pulling magnetic tab to release buckle. It works great so you do not have to use an extreme amount of force. Took a bit to get used to the concept. And 2nd the ratchet is right on my Adam’s Apple bit uncomfortable All in all I am extremely happy with my purchase of my LS2 MXsport Explorer Helmet.. I will follow up in a few weeks after I test it in action.

However it's great if I stand up at 100kmh, so aerodynamics are great, it's just poor insulation.I saw many reviews that complained about the screws falling out... BELIEVE them! The screw holding my peak and visor flew out while on the highway. Once it falls out, there is nothing holding that side of your visor... luckily I had duck tape to finish my trip, and also luckily it happened on the last day. If you get this helmet... take the screws out, and immediately put thread-lock on them or you will regret it.It is well ventilated and the pinlock does a good job. But that also means that it IS cold.Sun-visor should go down another 1/2 inch at least. Ah well.Sun visor mechanism is.. meh... ok, and the visor doen't have a notch at the bottom, so you can't pull it down with your fingers.View port is HUGEVisor doesn't ratchet, and will slide down if you just want it cracked openVisor lock is easy to operate and works well.Comes with a really nice bag for winter storageSo... overall it's main selling point is that it's light... and it IS LIGHT!But for everything else.... It's well built but nothing more, and it runs small...For that amount of money... I dunno if it's worth it.
