I love MAC lipsticks in general. Mattes, satins, powder…You name it, I love it. Todays review is for a very special Matte lipstick. For Canada Day MAC came out with a limited edition lipstick that was made in Canada for us Canadian gals! It only makes sense as MAC itself is a Canadian brand! It is a bold neutral red, maybe a bit on the orange side. It gives me Lady Danger vibes. I love red and intense it is! It represents all things Canadian if you ask me. Bold, classy, fun and special! It wears like the other MAC mattes and benefit’s with the use of a lip liner to keep it looking it’s best! If you’re a Canadian or visiting this beautiful country, this is definitely something special to add to your makeup bag!

MAC Candy Yum Yum is a very cool-toned, light-medium fuchsia with a matte finish. It is of around $21.00 and contains 0.1 oz but thanks to EXCLUSIVESTER (group on FB) for sending it my way for FREEE in exchange for the review. It has a good pigmentation just a little shy of opaque in places--with a creamy consistency that Isn't too heavy or too thin. There is a slight bit of color that sat in my lip lines, though. This shade is part of the permanent range, so it can be purchased in standard packaging at any time. On me, it wore well for over six hours and was slightly drying toward the end of wear... I rate it 9/10. its a bit funky color so i mix it with the regular shade to make it look more neutral. I recommend it!! MAC Russian Red is one of my favorites among the MAC Reds because it is deep bloody red. Depend upon your skin tone, it may look much deeper compared to other skin tones. This color is a true red with a very comfortable matte formula. I wear Russian Red with any outfit to have a signature touch for my entire attire. A new favourite!

I've been looking for some lipstick to go with my red wedding dress, and was originally planning to buy the Lisa Eldridge velvet lipstick in the shade Blue Ribbon, but then decided that maybe the price wasn't worth ordering it all the way from UK. I decided on MAC's Matte lipstick in the shade Ruby Woo and I'm so glad I did! First of all, I'm in love in this colour! I'm pale with brown hair and it's both bright and dark enough to really pop, but also not contrast with the rest of my face (like when very dark lipsticks seem to make your lips look small and sad). I also disagree with people saying that it’s drying, it's not hydrating either but it feels like a regular lipstick. Honeylove is god tier

I love this lipstick so much! M•A•C is known for their iconic lipsticks, but they seriously deserve the hype. I use the shade Honeylove every day and recommend it to so many people. Such a gorgeous shade - a gorgeous nude with the perfect blend of neutral, pink, and peach tones, which makes it beautiful on so many undertones. the matte factor of the lipstick is also great- it has no shine but still feels hydrating and creamy. It also stays on pretty long for a cream lipstick that doesn't dry down. It's also gorgeous with glosses. All these lipstick shades are stunning, but I had toshout out my all time fave.

I'll Always Stand by RubyWoo

I was a dancer in high school & to stay uniformed the whole team wore Ruby Woo. I've continued to use it ever since whenever red lipstick is needed! I'm on a performance spirit team for my college now, we have a game tonight & I'll be wearing Ruby Woo for it!My pros & cons overlap on some of the same features. Whenever I know I'll be wearing lipstick, I try to always apply chapstick or a small amount of lipgloss in preparation so my lips are moisturized & a bit damp. It makes it easier to apply lip liner &/or lipstick. The formula is smooth & creamy but it could definitely be smoother & creamier. If I don't pre moisturize my lips the lipstick itself won't help to add moisture, apply as evenly, or go on as smoothly. Matte lipsticks are not for me, but gorgeous colour

I have serious lip lines! Hence, matte lipsticks just don’t look nice on me no matter how hard I try. To make this work, I use a lip balm, gloss, or slippery lipstick beneath or over it. I love this colour nonetheless, so I still make this shade work for me. DAB it a little, blend it out, wear a lip balm over, and it can last quite a long time. Great colour that lifts my skin tone and make me look brighter + healthier! Hope you enjoy it too!! Bold lipsticks are so versatile. You can use it light or heavy, depending on the look you are going for.

Now understand the icon status....

After years of knowing about this lipstick and reading reviews, I still thought that it was not possible to have a universal red shade and dismissed it for probably being to bright or pink.Then when I saw it on sale, I just thought 'what the hey, let's see'. Upon putting it on, it was much smoother that expected (some reviews state how rough it is to glide but I didnt think so). Also, after applying 2 coats, i was like 'Arrrhhh, I understand now'. Absolutely lovely red lipstick and looks great. And while it is not as moisturising as the normal matt lipsticks, I do not find it too dry and uncomfortable at all (maybe as I'm used to liquid lipsticks) and the staying power is good. So overall, I am converted.
