I was hesitant to buy this because it wás glaringly optic white: my skin is rich brown and I was prepared to return it to Sephora, just knowing it would make me look like an ashy, crusty-faced Mardi Gras zombie. But I had high hopes and trust in the Make Up For Ever ("MUFE") brand because even from the beginning, they had more shades of brown than I'd ever seen in a product line: MUFE saw me, valued me and had foundation in a multitude of realistic browns, and got the undertones right. I felt like my sisters and I mattered to the people running the company; a fabulous and refreshingly positive feeling compared to the usual tokenism (50 shades of beige but only two of brown, neither one of those two rich or deep enough to match my brown, and I knew plenty of sisters ... And MUFE's makeup, so far, had always lived up to its claims; eyeshadows and lipsticks had amazingly true, full color payoff and lasting ability. So I bought MUFE's new HD line when it first appeared at Sephora, including the whiter than white "zombiefying" setting powder. Says it's translucent. I applied it according to the directions and OMG! It disappeared! No white, ashy cast, no nothing! Except a fabulously almost matte, perfected complection. Smooth, silky looking, radiant skin that looked like it was my own. The best setting powder ever. The big price becomes ok once you see how very little powder you need for any use: it will last about 5 to 10 times longer than you'd expect. I have combination skin, and now that I'm older, it's much drier, but this powder still rocks. Holds my makeup, refuses to settle into creases, lasts a long time. (When the weather is hot, I sweat, and need to reapply more, but that's just normal.) If you're getting "flashback," or white areas, you are using too much product. Practice, using very little on your brush: it's easy to apply more, in baby steps, but it is harder to remove overapplication. And always blend, blend like heck, in good light. Being a beauty junkie, I've tried other, similar translucent powders and some "traditional- looking" powders (e.g., Laura Mercìer, Tarte, etc.) but none come close to this star from Make Up For Ever. It's my gold standard, both pressed and loose. It's the Best, recommended to all of us ladies, of every color. Enjoy!

Ah, how I love this powder. I went from having to reapply powder 6 hours into the day, to not having to reapply at all. I have very oily skin, and I'm happy to say it combats that problem like a pro. Diminished wrinkles, texture, and doesn't cake up bad, although it does sometimes cake on my nose if I have heavy makeup on. I love the packaging, even though there is not a way to keep the powder from coming out into the container (when traveling or if you turn it upside down) after opening. I like the packaging because you can get every last grain of the powder out, and I find that a lot of loose powder is packaged in a way that doesn't allow you to get the full amount of product out. The powder is just so fine that it easily slips through the holes and doesn't clump ... MoreAh, how I love this powder. For 36 dollars, it is a little expensive, but it will make your makeup last longer, so I feel like it probably saves money in the long run. So far, it is the best powder for oily skin that I have come across.

This is a nice powder, but it gives terrible flashback in photos. I was so disappointed when I figured that out because other than the flashback, this is a good powder. It's very finely milled, and it actually does smooth out your skin. This didn't really work for me when I tried to bake my under eyes with it though. It's such a fine powder that when I baked with it, it made my under eyes look dry and it was also slightly hard to brush off. It clings to your skin, which is good because it'll set your foundation nicely, but it becomes too much when you use it to bale with. The flashback is pretty much a deal breaker for me. You never know when you'll want to take a photo, and this will make you look ghostly. Like someone just brought you back from the dead. That's ... This is the Holy Grail of face powder for myself (and I read that MUA Sir John uses this on Queen BEY—I mean what more do I have to say?). This powder is so finely milled its amazing, and a little bit goes such a long way. When I use this I find my face looks and feels smoother, and it keeps my foundation looking fresh and flawless throughout the day/night. I have oily skin so I really love that this product doesn't make my face look caked, powdered or too matte. It provides a natural finish. The part that impresses me with this product, is that it truly is translucent, and didn't change the color of my foundation or concealer.pros:-controls oily/combo skin (I highly recommended this for people with oily/combination skin)-makes skin velvety smooth/semi ... Love, love love! I've been on a hunt for the perfect setting powder for sooo long. I wanted something colorless, smooth and finely milled, and not full of silica that will ruin your flash photos. This stuff is great. I this is probably 3 times the price of the setting powders I've used in the past, but it's definitely worth it. It doesn't leave any color or chalkiness (it may on dark skin, not sure), it's super smooth and finely milled, and leaves a perfect finish to your foundation, or concealer, or just a bare face. It's great for under your eyes to set your concealer too. If you get the LM Undercover Pot concealer duo, this is the powder that it comes with, so that's further evidence that it's great for setting under eye concealer. This stuff stays put, helps ... I will buy again, though it won't be for a long time since you get a ton of product which makes the price not hurt so much. The packaging is sturdy and functions very well. The sifter doesn't have huge holes and the holes are just the right size to get out the perfect amount. And then you have the big lid to get the powder on your brush or puff just the way you like it. It may be too big for travel,I love this setting powder as I have dry skin I tend to stay away from powder as it just tends to cling to my dry patches but gave this ago as it was so raved about and I'm glad I did it doesn't make my face go cakey doesn't cling to dry patches and makes my makeup last all dayName: Sanae ChaoukiAdress: Nouveau quartier, Avenue Moulay Ismail 13Zip Code: 52200City: ArfoudCountry: Morocco

I have oily combination skin, but my under eye area is dry and suffers from heavy dark circles. I used to use the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer in the little round pot, and while that salmon color and the hydrating properties of this concealer were great, it was too emollient and migrated here and there and taking away my liner and mascara with it. At that time the SA had convinced me to invest in the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting powder, which for some reason so many people love, but I found to be horrible and settle into every line and wrinkle I never knew I had. That powder made my skin look reptilian, and aside from my under eye, I have pretty decent skin. So after searching for a decent under eye setting powder, I found Rouge Bunny Rouge, which ... So after searching for a decent under eye setting powder, I found Rouge Bunny Rouge, which is my HG, along with this MUFE powder. I was so loyal to my Rouge Bunny Rouge, I wasn`t willing to buy a full size of MUFE, until I found it in a travel size compact at a Sephora in Europe and that`s how we became acquainted. This is as good as my RBR, and although the price point is comparable, MUFE is more easily accessible in Japan, so I will go and purchase a full size of this soon. It works great with all my concealers, the moisturizing and the drier ones I use in summer, it doesn`t settle into lines or emphasize pores and dryness at all. It is an HG setting powder, especially for mature ladies with under eye issues.
I use this setting powder mostly for baking my under eyes area, also use it for my setting powder as i switch up between this one and the LM Translucent. I've saw many reviews state the MUF leaves a white powder film. I have never personally had this problem and I am fair skin tone in the winter months. My sister also used the MUF setting powder she had told me it was leaving some white residue or felt a bit caked on her face so I drove over to her home to find she wasn't using any kind of face primer as this is a powder and will cake on oily skin, sometimes it can cake if you apply to much, this wonderful setting powder if using it for setting your foundation/concealer use it with a dry beauty blender in a light dabbing as enough you can see but not overboard it ... When using it for baking- I've found to damping my beauty blender and apply it thick under my eyes leave it sit for about 10 minutes let it bake as its baking our body temperature is right at 98.6 and our temperature drops in the area we're baking our face as our body heat can't breathe past the setting powder. Baking is normally done 1-2 times per week if that, it actually helps the foundation to stay on longer and helps with hiding fine lines and wrinkles we can't really control. I can't honestly say in between the two setting powders I like best as I like them both. I am in the process of sitting up a youtube channel as its been highly requested on how too wear and mix and match. Well worth the money, remember applying a setting powder and a good face primer is the key! The only con I would have is the MUF net across the top as it makes it harder to get out, other than that I personally love this setting powder and it is Translucent.
Two bad things that knock this review down to just average:1. Applying this powder with a regular brush at first gave me HUGE issues. No matter which I used in my collection, I couldn't pick up any product! It almost seemed like it was too finely milled (if that's even possible as a negative thing!) for my brushes to pick any of it up. I was so irritated and frankly confused about how it was possible that I was having such an issue applying a simple powder. I was ready to return this, perplexed, when I though of applying with a beauty blender (dry actually, not wet). Since then, this method of application has worked fine for me. Normally I let it bake for a minute or so (limited time in the AM when getting ready for work!) and then softly brush away excess.2. The ... The first time I noticed saw the bounceback in photos I was taking, I rushed to the bathroom immediately, mortified that I had caked on way too much powder and my friends and family were just not savvy enough to realize or too kind to tell me. However when I looked in the mirror, I saw that I looked fine (great, if I do say so myself, heh). I tried taking a few more pictures that night with flash and still couldn't believe how bad the bounceback was. I even tried giving the powder another try a few weeks later out with some girlfriends and was super upset when pictures of myself from that night came out ruined! All of this said - and I want to be clear - this is a GREAT powder for daytime use/non-flash photography, hence the HD moniker. It is smoothing, mattifying but not drying and truly gives an HD finish. However for nighttime/flash photography use, it's just not for me!Sorry the picture is blurry...!
