This is my second Mammut 9.5 Crag Dry Rope, and it won't be my last. I've been climbing for over 20 years and this is by far my preferred climbing rope for both sport and trad climbing. The rope handles great, it's not overly bulky or too thin, and it takes an abuse. I highly recommend this rope!

I bought this a month ago in Chicago to be used in Mexico City and surrounding crags. So far I used it a couple of times in Jilotepec, Mexico City and Dinamos , it's been great. Everyone at the crag complements the colour, it is very easy to see in contrast with the environment. I've used it so little I cannot comment on the durability, however, I took some long falls and it handles them like a champ, it still looks new. Additionally, it offers great handling, this is my first personal rope and it was the best choice. It's so comfortable to use in comparison with my other friend's rope. 10/10 would recommend

Used this rope for indoor (60m) and outdoor (70m). Good price for its quality (cheaper than some of its competitors). It feeds very well through the gri-gri. Went with pink because I think the middle mark maybe a bit harder to see on blue. If you are looking for an outdoor rope and can't decide between 60m vs 70m, get the 70m. There aren't a lot of crags in ON that requires 70m, but there are some. It's better to have more rope to work with than having to buy a new one.

I really like this rope. This is my second (the first one isn't a dry rope), and I really enjoy using both of them. The first one is still going strong after a couple seasons of light/moderate use. I expect this one to last a while in my fleet of ropes! Have used on a couple of weekend climbing trips so far, and it's performing just as well as the first one. Haven't discovered how dry treatment works yet; that'll be this winter for ice climbing.
I've had this rope for over a year now. It's been with me to Devil's Tower, The Needles South Dakota, multiple trips to Red Rocks Nevada, and many local crags in Southern Utah. I haven't experienced the kinks and fraying other reviewers mentioned. In fact, the rope shows surprisingly little wear. My main use has been multipitch trad, but I've also used it for top roping the kids on sport routes. The bicolor has been useful for rope management, and is great for setting up quicker rappels. I'd buy it again.
I bought this in September, used once for multi pitch. I like the handling, coils nice and all around easy to work with.I bought this after realizing the infinity was discontinued and this Crag Dry was the equivalent. I hope the reputation holds up.There was no damage after a rappel over an edge and a swing under a roof.A peculiar thing to note is the actual feeling of the rope. Maybe it is the dry treatment that gives it a silky feeling. Definitely unusual.I bought the orange and brown rope - it is a bright orange rope but not as bright as the Petzl orange. I did see someone at the crag with a older rope which looked more burnt orange brown. They also weren’t using a rope bag and probably would have made a better review on the dry treatment’s ability to ... MoreI bought this in September, used once for multi pitch. I’m so happy I purchased this rope. I looked at many ropes for almost a year. I asked so many climbers about what rope I should purchase as my first. Between my mentor / guide, a women’s climbing group, and several climbers more experienced than myself, the Mammut rope was recommended above all the other ropes I checked out. The colors are beautiful and I finally got to use at the Gunks a few weeks ago. Very happy with my purchase.
The Mammut 9.5 Crag Dry Rope is a PERFECT climbing rope.Does NOT get dirty, Does NOT get kinki and does NOT hurt the carabiners.I have been climbing for 10 years. I always had Beal. My first rope was Beal Flyer 10.2 (really good one but a bit thick) after that, a Beal Virus 10mm and a Beal Karma 9.8 (the worst I have ever had, both of them...very dirty and very abrassive with the carabiners).I'm super happy with the Mammut 9.5 Crag Dry Rope and with all the Mammut ropes I see my friends climbing with.Really good works Mammut Team 😉😘
A duodess/bipatern 9.5 has been a staple in my quiver of ropes for almost 20 years. Its the perfect all around rope- however I’ve started to enjoy the skinnier cords and find they hold up just as well after climbing on a 9.2 revelation which lasted way longer than I ever thought it would.I hope Mammut starts making a 9.0 duodess/bipatern 70, because after climbing on a 9.2 for a while the 9.5 feels heavy. I don’t think rope diameter is as important to long term durability as much as sheath percentage and care- you can get a core short on a 10.5 the first day out and climb on an 8.7 for years- it all depends on the type of rock and style of climbing you are doing. I prefer a 8.7 or 9.0 now unless I am using it to top rope or for wall use.
Only used it once, but it is lighter than my last rope. Did 3 sport routes and 4 top rope climbs with it during a session and I don't have any complaints about it. I love the bi-pattern design, makes finding the middle much easier along with asking my partner,"do you wanna climb stripes or checkers this time?" hahaha.
