Bought these having read a very positive review online. Based on users' comments ordered a size larger than for normal shoes, which was the right thing to do. Comfortable straight out of the box. So far just taking things steady, but gearing up for a 100-mile hike in September. Very happy to have chosen these Ducan boots for the journey.

I’ve had three pairs of perfect Mercury Tour High gtx and thought I’d have a change - tried these - had to go up half a size partly because of the one sided tongue. This resulted in the right length for my narrow feet, but a sloppy wide feel. If you don’t think these fit perfectly in the shop/out of the box, then don’t go out in them and don’t buy or return before it’s too late! I then found that as the tongue is one-sided, when you tighten the laces the tongue goes twice the normal distance into the boot and digs into your ankle (unless you’ve got very big ankles?!). Final gripe - if you just splash through the odd puddle they’re fine, but give them a good soaking in smelly water and it’s very tricky getting the pong out of all the material on the outsides of the ... I’ve reverted back to the tried and tested Mercury Tour High GTX.

Only had the boots a few weeks and only been on easy terrain and tracks. Boots are comfortable and give a feeling of stability. Laces are good. I'm still getting used to the 'tongue-wrap' thing. It does allow for easier adjustments and pressure changes on the arch when necessary. Boots have been waterproof given ankle height but not convinced on grip on muddy ground - same for most boots. Yet to try them on rock and damp rock. Maybe more comments after enjoying them on rockier ground. Worth a 5 on current use.

The shoe has a nice fit. The opening for the foot is quite tight, but once you have the shoe on, it’s very comfortable. The shoe is lightweight, but sturdy. The outsole has good grip, also on a wet track with stones. I’ve tried them in a 1-hour shower and my feet were still dry. Only the laces are not easy to tie. They went loose during the hike. Maybe they’re slippery from being new and that they get loose easily. We’ll see in the future if that improves.
The size of the shoes is 42, which is my regular size. Most probably, it would be better to order one size bigger.Nevertheless, I felt very safe while using the shoes. While walking in the High Tatra Mountains. It was protecting my ankles, my feet - what was the was important aspect for me. Definitely worth to buy.Thank you Mammut. I will come back.
It fits like a good shoe should. The flexible steel " Mammut FlexTron" shank is perfect for under foot stability. It absorbs uneven rocky trail conditions under foot and is latterly stable on tilted terrain. And keep dry when crossing long snow patches, jumping streams , crossing or wet meadows. This is my 2nd pair
I picked these up to fit the role of a well supported shoe in between a lighter sneaker and zamberlans. Did a 40 mile 3 day hike in mostly dry conditions in the PNW with one day of mildly wet. Good ankle support and good water resistance. Not too hot during but neither was the weather. I would prefer a lighter shoe if hiking in sunnier weather. A good shoe if you’re unsure of the trail or climate. Worked well with gaiters on our wet day. I broke them in doing construction work and is a great shoe for trades people
Recently took them on a hellish expedition in the cairngorms and they were stellar. Very supportive and still comfortable after 2 days of continuous use. Sopping wet conditions but my feet were dry right up until I plunged knee deep into a bog. They’re not very warm but then they’re not marketed as winter boots so unsurprising.
I bought these shoes right before my hiking trip in de Stubaier mountains in Austria. We did a Hutte tour. I’m really happy with the performance in the various mountain conditions from the softer ground in the valley to the hard rocks you’ll find on the top. Two points I have to comment. 1 - I had to buy two sizes larger than my normal size, so size 44 where normally I have 42. 2 - they are not the most comfortable on paved roads.
these are not only excellent from a functional perspective, they are also an lovely looking boot. Lightweight, comfortable, dry and grippy they have become my go to boot for hiking. I haven't found any negative issues to report and the transaction was easy. the packaging is well designed from a sustainability perspective which is important to me also. Bravo Mammut.
