My rear had 23,000 miles on it and still had tread left. I just changed it out for thus season, the front has 28,000 on it still looks great even the sidewalls still look like I used tire shine on them and I don't. Just all around good dang tires that make me feel safe no matter the weather or road conditions!!! Thanks for a great product. Darren from Michigan's thumb on a harley ultra classic .

I put the Commander IIIs on my Indian Roadmaster before a 6800 mile trip. I saw a LOT of rain but none more intense than the span of highway between Daytona and Orlando, FL. The tires gripped the road and never hydroplaned…they tracked true. 2 days later I was in 325 miles Rain shower but didn’t care because my Commander IIIs kept me well connected to the road.

For my 06 FXSTS springer I bought commander III's for front and rear, because I couldn't get my rear tire size in the commander II's!When installed, I immediately noticed a buzz/vibration in tires, at speeds above 40 miles per hour!!! Never had this problem with commander II's! I first thought I had bad wheel bearing! Replaced bears made no difference!! I was stumped! Installed the commander III's on my 07 FXSTSSE springer and immediately noticed the same annoying problems with the tires! Buzzing/vibrating! Feel in my hands!!I have run commander II's for many years! Never felt this!! I wont never buy commander III's again!! Hate them!!! DO NOT BUY!

have a set on a 128 cubic inch (stage 4) FLSB replaced my 888s ultras. I am very happy with the traction they offer on all conditions as well as the wear of the tire. I am about 12000km in and I am ordering a new rear.I used a shop to install those as I do not change tires my street bikes myselfFor the people that that complain losing traction, they all mention cruise control. never use cruise control on wet asphalt.
I purchased these for my 2017 Harley Street Glide and replaced the factory Harley Davidson tires both front and rear. I have always run the Commander II on my previous bike and chose to try these. For the first 2 weeks, I was impressed with the traction in both dry and wet weather as well as the handling. After the first 2 weeks, I can hear the tires and it gets louder the more I run them. It was bad enough that I thought it was the wheel bearings and had them replaced only to find out it was the tires. I cant talk on longevity but I am sure they will last as long as the commander II's because they show minimal if any signs of wear. Performance wise, these tires are great but would not purchase again due to the noise.
The Commander III Cruiser tires are an all around fantastic tire. I have put over 2k+ miles on these tires so far, and they still ride as good as the day I got them. My motorcycle is a 2014 Yamaha Bolt R-Spec that originally came with Bridgestone tires which I was not pleased with. I got less than 6k miles out of them and they road horrible in wet weather. When I needed new tires, I went with Michelin Commander II. They were a great tire and I got over 10k+ miles out of them. That is why when I needed new tires again, I went with the new Michelin Commander III. I plan on buying Commanders again when it is time, because I am such a huge fan! When I shop for new tires, I look for durability, performance, and style. These tires have it all. It can be tough finding a durable tire that still rides well in all conditions, but I am more than impressed with the Commander III and would recommend them to anybody looking for a quality cruiser tire.
I do not understand all the bad reviews. Just got the tires and rode 300 miles in the mountains of NC on my 2013 HD super glide and was riding 2 up. 8 hours round trip. speeds from 70 on the interstate to 1st and 2nd gear switch backs, no vibration or noise. had commander 2 on it before and the commander 3 handles great. I think hung the curves better will see how they last got 9k out commander 2 it replaced. Time will tell on miles they last.
I am a loyal Michelin product guy. I have their tires on my Motorhome, Genesis, Honda CRv, Jeep Wrangkler and now my 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Limited.. I swapped out the Dunlop American Elite's I had on the bike, (with only 4k miles) and went with the Commander III's . I have a 4k mile trip coming up the end of the month(7/2022)and wanted the best tires on the market for this "bucket list" journey. I had heard great reviews on the silica compound tire that was advertised as Michelin's "Best of the best" and having their tires on everything else I drive I thought "why not"! I love the design and handling of the Commander III's but being 100% honest, I am replacing the front tire with only 300 miles on it. I love the design and handling of the Commander III's but being 100% honest, I am replacing the front tire with only 300 miles on it. The vibration and "humming" from the tire is terrible. Between 25 and 45 MPH, when traveling in a straight line, the vibration is unbearable. If you corner or bring the tire off center, the vibration and hum go away. I had the Commander III's installed 4 days ago and am quiet disappointed. I spoke to the bike shop that I purchased the tires from and had them balances and mounted, and was told to contact Michelin direct with my concerns. I am calling their Customer Service tomorrow (6/27/22) and will follow this review with the outcome. I'm sure it's simply a flaw with the design in the front tire. I'm reading the exact same concerns in other comments posted. By the way, as of right now, the rear tire rides AMAZING!! I will not rate anything Michelin makes with less than 5 plus stars. I love their tires and hopefully will post another comment on how awesome their Customer Service was in helping me resolve this issue. "The OTHER Michelin Man" JW smith
After 10000 kilometers both front and rear are terrible to drive for wet conditions( extreme slippery). Tyre pressure are very correct front and rear. I bought it 2022 and installed 2024 spring. Tyre size 130x80x17, 180x65x16. I will remove asap these when the new set of (Metzlers)has arrived.
I purchased these tires in January of 2020 but couldn't have them installed until March due to bad weather here in N.E. Ohio. When I picked up my 2012 Heritage Soft Tail after having the tires installed the roads were wet from the melting snow and the temp. was 36 degrees.Even though I couldn't scuff the tires up on dry pavement I could feel the difference in handling. The bike was stable on the straights and in the turns. After the weather broke I was able to get aggressive and the Commander III's preformed flawlessly. Even on grooved pavement the bike rode as though it was on smooth asphalt..I have had the "opportunity" to ride in a few down pours and I had no problem with hydroplaning or control of the bike.
