50 ft. Polyester Fish Tape with Non-Conductive TipThis is a great fish tape. I have always found Milwaukee tools to be of the highest quality and this tool is no different. The tape uses three strands of polyester wrapped in some type of durable plastic casing, it is quite flexible and easier to work with then the metal tapes I have used in the past. The tape rolls in and out smoothly. It is also non-conductive so pushing it into a live box will not cause a shorting situation. The case itself seems to be made of an almost indestructible material, it also has small view windows that allows you to see how much tape is left to be deployed. The only downside I could find was the size of the tip, it is much larger than a steel tape and might cause problems getting into ... More50 ft. Another quality Milwaukee product. I have always wanted my own fish take while remodeling and needing to run a new electrical line for my bathroom remodel. Had to borrow my neighbor's and now I have my own. Reel is smooth and the non-conductive tip is a major comfort. It was a bit concerning when we had to tap into the main panel with a older all metal design. This tape should be a benefit and 50ft should complete any home project that I might experience. Always trust and have faith in my Milwaukee tools!

Disclaimer: I have not used this tool with my own hands. I'm a project manager and gave to a crew of industrial electricians. I watched them use it and they all agreed it was very smooth when working around 90 degree angles. After a week, they told me they were going to buy a pair as soon as possible. One of the points I remembered them telling me was that it was perfect for the shorter runs because of its weight and ease of fishing in tight conduit. My crew said their old, steel fish tape was about to go into semi-retirement.Also, this tape is rugged as other Milwaukee tools. One of my crew knocked it off the SkyJack and hit the concrete floor from 22'. Only a scratch, it wound up fine.

Having used only steel ones to this point I was a little reluctant to try polyester. This tape doesn't bind up as much as steel when running down conduit or poles. One definite advantage can be worked around live circuits. 50 feet covers a lot ground/conduit. One huge advantage is if working in rain or water soaked pole no fear of rust after a few days.
I am still not sure if I should recommend this fish tape. I have used other non-metallic fish tapes in the past. The big disadvantage was the metal tip. This fish tape has a non-metallic tip, but it is much larger then the metal tips. Between the tip, and the twisted polyester tape, it is almost useless when trying to pull more wires into a pipe with wires already in it. The tip almost fills 1/2" EMT, and is not going to go through if you have any wires in it. You have to push hard to get it to through bends in an empty pipe.On the other hand, if you are doing new work, and have to shove into a live panel, the tape will work well. You do not have to worry about shorting anything out. Because you are pulling into empty pipe, the size of the head shouldn't be a ... MoreI am still not sure if I should recommend this fish tape. You do not have to worry about shorting anything out. Because you are pulling into empty pipe, the size of the head shouldn't be a problem. For me, the order of buying fish tapes would be a 1/4" 100' metal tape, then a 50' nylon tape, and finely this one. It gives you another option when pulling wire, but it will not replace the other two.
Such a lightweight fish tape with a red non conductive tip. It's polyester triple strand tape is very flexible with it being 50 foot in length. The black handle is multi positional along with the inner square grip for pushing/easy winding. I'm finding it very easy to use in such confined spaces in my wall cavities, . This fish/draw tape tool is very compact, convenient and love the vibrant red casing. This Milwaukee fish tape has been used for numerous electrical task and has made my job so much easier.
The Milwaukee non-conductive fish tape is perfect for working in live panels and new conduit pulls. Compared to a metal fish tape, this product comes out of the spool very easily and is smooth so it feeds through conduit easily. In addition, it will not kink. It is a larger diameter than a metal fish tape so putting it into smaller conduits that already contain wires will be difficult. I was able to push it 25 feet through an existing 3/4 inch conduit that contained three 12 gauge wires and had a 90 degree bend with no difficulty. However, once it hit the second 90 degree bend I could no longer push from the point of entry but I was able to push from a midpoint junction box.I enjoyed the ease of winding and unwinding the tape. However, once it hit the second 90 degree bend I could no longer push from the point of entry but I was able to push from a midpoint junction box.I enjoyed the ease of winding and unwinding the tape. The reel is at least twice as big as a metal fish tape of the same length. With the triple strand I am confident this will be as durable and strong as a metal tape. I prefer to use this over my metal tape but it is a tight fit in a 1/2 inch empty conduit. You will be unable to fit it into a populated 1/2 inch conduit. It appears to be durable as I dropped the reel from six feet and it sustained no damage.
The case is a bit oversized and bulky, but is rugged and can take some abuse. The tape is very easy to pay out and does not jam like many others I have used. The line is rather loose in the housing, but that does not impact use. There is a side window to see how much tape is left in the spool. The tape is non-conductive if you need to feed with live wires. The inner hand grips help with leverage when pulling the tape back in.
This is a very flexible and very sturdy fish tape. It easily rolls in and out without binding up. The actual tape has three strands of polyester that are wound tightly together and are designed to add strength, It has a hard plastic non-conductive tip that is adhered to the end and seems to be secure. What drew me to this tape the most is the non-conductive capabilities of it, as periodically I have needed to push a tape into a live box.I would definitely recommend it, especially if a non-conductive unit is desired.
This unit is incredibly light weight, hence much more comfortable to use. Being non-conductive makes for a safer environment. I would still be sure there is no live circuits in the area of work. The square inner housing is great for holding it and the re-wind is quite simple as you simple turn the mechanism and it retracts nice and neat. The limited lifetime warranty is a plus.
