As an American artist that has had artwork exhibited in museums around the world the product Mod Podge has been a great use to me in many projects primarily with collage and assemblage works. It's an amazing product that seals, protects, adheres, transfers and is just a wonderful product. My background is that of a professional illustrator, designer, painter, sculptor author and professor in both corporate, university positions and also within the fine art world. I have often been referred to as one who defies labels. I'm just creative and Mod Podge is that way as well. It has multiple uses and always delivers. I highly recommend it.

I've used this product for many years. I use it on wooden plaques. I apply paper images onto the plaques with the mod podge and then mod podge over it all. I glue ribbon and hemp cording on the plaque for a frame. I make little crosses out of hemp and mod podge them and they stay nice and firm. This product holds up for 10+ years. It doesn't discolor and it looks as good as when its first applied. You should know that when you first apply it, it is opaque looking, but it dries clear. Also, rotate gently to mix it so you don't get air bubbles. Thank you, Michaels, for selling a great product!

I used this to transfer to wood. I read lots of different sources of tutorials, including Plaid. What couldn't be conveyed was how much pressure to use to remove the layers of paper. I took it very slow and easy, let it dry and took off more layers 3-4 times before I was happy with the clarity of the image. I read other reviews that wondered if the photo was supposed to be milky in appearance. I wondered the same but had courage to keep going with taking off more layers. I realized at some point just how vinyl-like the product is when it dries. I think this would have given me a little more confidence to go at it with slightly more pressure, and definitely made me feel ok about continuing to wet the image, but never too much. Might be overkill and unnecessary, but might give it a go for confidence sake. It was a tedious process for me so would rather use more pressure if I can. That said, I had perfect results my first try at this. The other tip I took to heart was adding enough medium - thick enough so the entire surface is opaque - no streaks or transparent spots.
