One of the toughest things about camping in the backcountry is not having good coffee. I've tried instant. I've tried Cowboy Coffee. I've tried percolators. I've even used Lexan Press Pots. Nothing, however, is as simple and convenient as this Windboiler attachment. I love this thing and have finally found the perfect backcountry coffee solution. Now, if I can just find a way to keep half and half fresh for more than a few days I'll be in coffee heaven on every trip.

Solid construction. Heats water much faster than a jet boil. The lid is way more trustworthy to stay on than a jet boil and the cup on the bottom is actually useful unlike jetboil. I bought a coffee press for it as well and I love how it stores on the bottom of the stove. It Can be hard to light sometimes especially in windy conditions. I usually use a match but when it gets windy I'll use a steel font combo. Wish it had an integrated igniter.

I’m a big fan of MSR windburner stove and just completed mine by adding the coffee kit. Like always I’m impressed with MSR quality and durability. The kit offered extra lid which is handy. It is light and easily fit inside the stoves container. I recommend it when windburner 1.8L is being purchased.

I love the easy compactability of this product. You can unscrew the metal rod and break it down into two pieces. These two pieces can then snap together -- fewer moving parts. My only caveat with this product is that it doesn't fit inside the stove for storage when you also have the fuel and burner stored inside. You can fit it on the bottom with the attached bowl; However, the bowl doesn't properly close thereafter so there's a higher chance of something breaking when you store it. Instead, I stored separately. Not a big deal but worth mentioning.
When read the description as a coffee press kit and see the item this plunger goes in, I had the believe it was both.I feel there could be better distinction that this is just a coffee plunger, nothing else.I don't have the burner set this goes to and thought I was finding a lovely, lightweight set of items for making coffee with.I'm sure it works great, just don't have the accessories it needs.
So I've had the other brand canister stoves with the coffee press and it worked great. I upgraded to the windburner and purchased a coffee press for my winter mountain training exercise. Very frustrated with the amount of grounds that travel through the sides of the press. I've tried waiting up to six minutes to let the grounds sink some, didn't work. Wish it fitter better in the stove. Would've given it 3-5 stars if only a few grounds escaped, that would have been expected.
I usually use a Wacaco press when I do backpacking but in winter I am scare that the leftover water will freeze en damage it. So I bought the French press to fit perfectly to my windburner. It’s easy to carry since it fit in the windburner and the central stick can be taking apart in 2 piece en put in the windburner. This a perfect accessory for a full cup of coffee made Directly in your windburner.
This coffee press is designed to work with the Wind Burner cook kit and it does so perfectly. I brewed four cups of deliciousness this past weekend on a trip. The coffee was bright strong and delicious. I did have a few grinds make it past the filter, so the last sip was poured out to avoid the cowboy coffee sip but otherwise it was a huge hit. Pro Tip - The filter fits snugly onto the bottom of the cook pot inside of the measuring cup for storage and the two small arms get wrapped in small cloth and fit inside the cup. It's a great addition to the kit and I love mine! The weight and size are a negligible add for me for a UL[ish] bombproof backcountry setup. The Wind Burner stove itself performed so quickly there was no wait for the boiling water to make the coffee ... MoreThis coffee press is designed to work with the Wind Burner cook kit and it does so perfectly. I love mine Wind Burner rig and the addition of the coffee press gives me a complete system!
Recently purchased and used a few times. Snug fit on the wind burner pot, packs well, (Men; read the instructions, as we typically don't) remember to remove the stem from the wind burner before you start it. I forgot to remove the stem because it packs inside the burner, luckily nothing happened when I was heating up the water and looked for the stem, but I could see how it could get melted. However the windburner is very efficient and keeps the heat above the burner, so the stem didn't even feel hot. It filters the grounds pretty well but does not prevent all the grounds from getting through the screen, after all it's not really camp coffee without a few grounds. seems to work better than the competitors version.
Instant coffee just doesn't cut it in the backcountry... if you're like me and picky about your morning brew, this is a must-have accessory for your WindBurner. The added weight to your pack is minimal and the press packs nicely into the pots with fuel can & stove. Some reviewers here have commented that grounds get through the screen... that's not my experience and I have both press sizes (Personal and Duo Pot). French Press style brewing requires a coarse ground.. some very fine coffee sediment will get through but that's to be expected when using this method.
