I've been loyal to my for about a year or so thinking as long as my SPF didn't leave a white cast and paired well under my makeup then it was fine. That all still reigns true, but I'm huge fanatic for the dewy look and anything that leaves the skin hydrated and glowy. I never thought my SPF could play a part in my chase for the dewiest skin possible which is probably why I just stuck to what I knew. That all changed today with this product! The consistency is literally just what it says it's somewhat of a gel, but still somewhat of a lotion, it's thin, but not terribly thin where it's practically water. It comes out with a blue hue to it and something about it is just so satisfying, it has a very light fresh scent to it, that I actually really enjoyed, but nothing too strong at all, it's really barely there. I used two fingers length worth and when I first started to apply it I thought "oh no I've used way too much", but it was no problem at all, I was able to cover my whole face, neck and shoulder tops, it blended into my skin in no time leaving absolutely no white cast at all just a beautiful hydrated, supple and dewy glow to my skin. It feels cooling and hydrating upon application and even now as I'm typing this, it's been about an hour or two, my skin still feels hydrated and soft. The "glow" it leaves is not greasy what so ever, I used to think my sun bum left a glow, but now I think I'm realizing, after using this, that wasn't a glow, but more like just the greasy look of sunscreen. I don't wanna put down my SunBum because I still think that too is a great product, but I'm just obsessed with this SPF now and I'm so glad I decided to try it. This is for sure a win for me and a new staple in my routine.

Up until 8 years ago, I would only wear sunscreen if I was going to be outdoors for awhile. I just hated the way it felt on my face and how greasy it made my skin feel. As a makeup lover it was pretty much impossible to put makeup on top of any sunscreen without it pilling or sliding around. As more of my friends and family started developing skin cancer, I decided to give it another shot. After trying a few more duds and reading a lot of reviews I tried this sunscreen. What a wonderful product! It is so lightweight that it feels like you are wearing a nice moisturizer. It sinks into the skin quickly and easily and gives you a nice healthy glow. Has a slight odor but it's not strong or unpleasant. Just smells like a day at the beach. It doesn't leave a white cast on my face like so many sunscreens do. I have and would recommend this sunscreen to anyone. It's affordable, readily available and a great product. Have been using another sunscreen to help repair my skin barrier, but when I pulled this out I remembered how much I loved it. Now I switch between the two.

This was formerly my holy grail of chemical SPF until I discovered the Invisible Defence. I'm only knocking off stars because of my skin type and goals. This is a stunning product but it does leave a glow and with oily skin, I don't need that. The formula is amazing, it really melts into the skin and leaves no SPF residue or feeling. This makes a wonderful primer, makeup glides perfectly over it and looks smooth. It also does not disturb makeup wear too much. I consider this a 2-in-1 product for me because it's hydrating and protecting. If you don't require a lot of moisture during the day this can serve as both moisturizer and SPF. It's hydrating enough without being greasy, I just prefer the pink formula for my skin goals.

Bad rash reaction
2 April 2022

I bought this last summer and was surprised to see it's still available. I have sensitive skin, but mostly on my face. I love the hydro boost line, including the whipped body balm and body gel cream, so figured I'd try their sunscreen.Like any new skin product, I do a test before using all over. I decided to try this on both arms, generally the least sensitive areas for me. Within an hour I had red painful blotches all over both arms. Immediately washed it off, but the rash lasted for a few days. Very scary.Threw the bottle away. Was very surprised given my experience with other products in this line. I don't know what ingredient caused this reaction, but I'm glad I tried this first, as I was considering getting the face gel with sunscreen. Arms and legs always have dry skin, and have never had this type of reaction to a product before.

DO NOT LET IT GET IN YOUR EYES, HOLY COW
2 July 2022

Will not go well under foundation, has a strong scent, and, if it gets anywhere near your eyes, it will BURN. That being said, I don't wear makeup often anyway, the scent is actually pretty nice, and I am now aware to keep a gap between it and my eyes the size of panda spots. There is absolutely no white cast. You can't feel it on your face once it's on, unlike thick non-chemical sunscreens. It really is lightweight. Besides the feeling of it getting into your eyes, which is not to be downplayed, it is a pleasant experience. If I can, I'll update on whether it's drying or not since it's made with alcohol (though it also contains moisturizing hyaluronic acid). Not sure yet.

This is excellent compared to most sunscreens out there. I haven't found a better spf 50, yet. No white cast (but really!!!), goes on like a dream, you can do your makeup straight away (I use bare mineral powder foundation), you don't need another moisturiser under. Unfortunately it's got two downsides: it stings my eyes too much and my makeup doesn't stay put, it melts and sits in my wrinkles, and I've got dry skin, so it might be even worse for people with combination or oily skin. I bought this after trying the "city shield" version of it, hoping that this one was just the same lotion but with a higher spf. Unfortutately it's similar to the "city shield", but not the same. It might look a bit too shiny on the skin, but in the absence of a better alternative I would still choose it. I just wish that Neutrogena made the city shield with an spf 50.

I want to love it...

I bought this a week ago. I've heard it reported that this sunscreen can give major eye sting, but I figured I'd try it out because I don't generally experience skin/eye sensitivity. The sting didn't start immediately upon application, but it really hit about an hour in. I felt like I had a case of onion eyes all day, to the point where I actually couldn't stand it anymore and I washed my face with hand soap at work just to give my eyes a reprieve. Let me break down my rating by theme:-OVERALL SKIN FEEL: 5/5-this sunscreen has eclipsed any others I've tried in terms of hydration, finish, and overall feel throughout the day. I have combination skin, and normally my forehead is a grease factory by noon every day, but this sunscreen dried down to a weightless, matte-esque finish and kept my oiliness at bay far longer than any SPF I've previously tried-FORMULATION TO MINIMIZE IRRITATION: 1/5-as previously stated, the potent, prevailing eye irritation was strong enough to interrupt my day entirely. The sting actually carried into the next day, even after having washed my face and flushed my eyes out multiple times. It wasn't as painful on day 2, but my eyes were still blood-shot, with a mild stinging sensation.-SALE PRICE: 5/5-I was able to purchase for less than $20, and it's twice the size (88mL) of the face SPFs I normally reach for-ACCESSIBILITY: 5/5-I can find this both instore and online at any of my local grocery and drug storesI really want to love this SPF, as I have yet to find another product that feels as good and performs as well for my skin. Unfortunately, I can't handle the eye irritation, and I was forced to discontinue use after 2 days. Are you working on reformulating, or releasing a version without fragrance?

If you hate greasy sunscreen, look no further!

I have been on the hunt for years to find a sunscreen that doesn't look or feel greasy on my face. This product feels extremely light on the skin and also leaves no greasy residue. If you've ever tried the Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer, this sunscreen feels very similar on the skin (lightweight, soaks in easily). It seriously feels like nothing on the skin, which is exactly what I wanted. That is more user error than the product in my opinion. This is my holy grail sunscreen l, and I will never buy anything else!

In love with this brand!

I am a skin care junkie and have tried dozens of brands in the past but the results I have seen with the ROC brand has far surpassed any other brand I have tried. I have been using these capsules along with the retinol correxion max hydration cream and the retinol correxion line smoothing eye cream for over 6 months now and I have absolutely seen a dramatic improvement in my skin, especially my fine lines and wrinkles. I have struggled with my make-up settling into my wrinkles for some time now, especially between my eyebrows, but since using these products, that has improved tremendously. I am constantly being told my skin looks amazing and I even had another mom tell me everytime she sees me, my make-up looks flawless. The key is consistency, you will not get the results you want if you are not using these products consistently. I also had an esthetician explain to me that using products from the same line or brand will give you better results than using products from multiple brands. I appreciate ROC for developing high quality products, while also being super affordable for the average person because EVERYONE deserves to have great skin!

I have been using this for a while now and I love it for the most part. It is very lightweight, does not feel too oily and did not give me break outs despite being acne prone! The ingredients are also pretty great and I am impressed overall! And it is super affordable so I don't feel guilty applying a lot to ensure I have the best sun protection possible. However, it REALLY stings my eyes and does not stay in place. I do my best to keep it away from my eyes but it migrates into my eyes mid way through the day. I am not sure if it's from sweating or what, but unfortunately that is the one reason I would not repurchase.
