Purchased these shoes back in February and did so mainly for the style. However, I quickly realized that they were extremely comfortable! There is some weight to them but the construction of the shoe provided great support and helped correct my poor posture! I found myself walking upright and without slouching which others were able to notice as well.I'd like to say about a month ago, I started to develop lower back pain, my posture isn't as great anymore and the bottom of my feet would feel sore as if I was walking in flat sandals all day. I couldn't pinpoint why until a few days ago when I purchased a new pair of shoes for running and had these shoes on that day. The 990v5 no longer had the support, cushion and comfort it once had when I purchased these shoes six months ago which was a shocker, honestly. I believe with running shoes it's recommended to switch out your shoes after 200-300 miles and even if I were to apply that to these shoes, I don't think I've hit that mark yet. For a bit of background, I primarily wear these shoes for light walks/running errands and they get rotated between other shoes/sandals. Now when I put these shoes on and start walking around in them, I'll get so much pain and sensation in my lower back and feet. I haven't experienced this with my other shoes and I've had some for over 5-10 years. I do find it a bit interesting, I may just need a new pair and or perhaps insoles but for the cost of the shoes and insoles only to be replaced after six months of casual wear, it's questionable. Overall, I absolutely enjoyed them during the six months of having them but my back and feet are telling me I need to retire them and that's what we're going to do

I've been wearing the New Balance 99OV5 running shoe for a long time. They are so comfortable, fit perfectly, and the tongue doesn't slide sideways like a lot of other tennis shoes. They're hard to find now because New Balance redesigned them (not for the better I think). Many places are now charging exorbitant prices for the 99Ov5 shoes. I was elated to find them in my size and width, AND at a reasonable price at Footprint USA.. I questioned if this was a legitimate company. I'm happy to report that my shoes arrived on time and in pristine, new condition as promised.

I bought these shoes last minute for my 2 week trip to England and Scotland, knowing we will be doing lots of waking, purely as a just in case/back up pair. Thank goodness I did bc they became the only shoe I've worn this trip (also brought with me "cute" or more fashionable trainers-trying to look cute, but nope-those shoes were not comfortable and my feet were dying after a day of walking in them). These new balance tho, So comfortable! Have worn them exclusively since 2 bad days in other shoes and love them and feet have never felt sore. Have done great with the amount of walking (over 20k steps per day) we've been doing over the different terrain-cobblestone and concrete and even some trails; lots of hills and stairs and these shoes are so insanely comfortable ... MoreI bought these shoes last minute for my 2 week trip to England and Scotland, knowing we will be doing lots of waking, purely as a just in case/back up pair. Went for the black pair and so glad I did. Goes with everything. Will now be my exclusive travel shoe. Need the grey pair also. Highly recommend and worth the money. ONLY complaint-some of the suede is rubbing off, shoe only 2 wks old but have had heavy use in those 2 wks, but I suppose that won't affect the longevity of the shoe (I hope). But that's the only complaint I noticed. Oh. Do find it runs big. Usually wear a size 8 in tennis shoes but in these sizes down to a 7.5, glad I did, perfect fit!

These have better support and are much better looking than the new 990v6. That shoe is not only ugly, but it does not have the depth or the solid support of the 990v5. They softened the sole of the v6, making it less supportive and causing it to flatten out more quickly. I was afraid New Balance would discontinue the v5 once the v6 was launched. Thankfully they have not. And I think they would be smart keep making the v5. A lot of v4 and v5 customers have been very disappointed with the v6. I don't think v6 sales will ever compete with v4 and v5 sales, and for good reason. With the 990v6 New Balance has really compromised on the quality, support, and good looking style that customers have been used to.
This sneaker is beautifully made with quality materials and offers good stability. It is true to size, although the description suggests that it is slightly large. I usually order 9.5 in a sneaker/running shoe and found the 9.5 provides a perfect fit. The insole is better quality than in most running shoes, although there's plenty of room for orthotics. The shoe is a little heavy; however, the overall comfort and quality compensates for the weight. This is a very comfortable well-cushioned running shoe. I use it for fast walking, and so I can't comment on what a runner would experience
These are hard to get in your size! I’m usually a 6.5 or 7 ,so I got a 6 since New Balance and reviews said to size down. I was so disappointed; the 6 was so snug, probably because that was not my regular size lol. Had to return them. Would have tried on in store but again they are rarely in stock so I had to risk another reorder in a new size.Luckily, a week or 2 after my return, a 7 came in and I snatched it right up. It fits like a 6.5 so I could even go up to a 7.5 for a comfortable fit. Saying all this to say get your regular size or if you are in between sizes, get the next half size up but do NOT size down. Caution on the construction. I’m not picky with craftsmanship but this just doesn’t look right; though it’s a really small defect. I’m still keeping ... MoreThese are hard to get in your size! Do these really need another 5 star review? They are deserving that's for sure. I've been trying high end supportive trainers for years and finally feel like I've found the fight combination of supportive and comfort. I slip my 3/4 orthotic in these and they're perfect. Pretty flat inside the footbed without orthotics though. The ENCAP rigid rim is not so hard that it hurts, which I've had the problem in with Brooks Addiction, but the supportiveness of these is much more tolerable for my sensitive feet. Bought my usual size and it's spot on. Don't size down as the listing suggests.
These were my first pair of NB shoes that I have ever purchased. When I received them- they looked nice.... when I tried putting the shoelaces through- I couldn't! Apparently there was fabric covering the shoelace holes. I was getting deployed in a few days and wanted to keep the shoes for work so I just ended up using a seam ripper. It took me about 45 minutes to cut all the holes through. I called the customer service desk to let them know about the problem and see if there was anything that they could do about it since they cost me over $200 and they were DEFECTIVE! They told me that there was nothing that they could do to help me. Poor quality control and very poor customer service!!! First and last time I will ever buy anything from NB.
I am writing this review to let everyone know how this sneakers fit. I bought a pair of USA 990v5 Core and let me tell you I will never go back to Vionic sneakers or sketchers or any bogo fit out their. This 990v5 are the best comfortable strong well fitted sneakers you can own. They are a bit price but I am a 215 pound woman 5'7 Tall and let me tell you I have very bad knee problems and a right ankle surgery. These sneakers support so much my walking that I have been thinking Why in the world didn't I buy these sneakers before. They are strong and very arch supportive they are stylish and can go with everything. Since I love love love them so much I am owning the black and navy blue pairs as well so I can wear different colors and balance the sneakers. DON"T look at the price because our feet are our travelers and they deserved the Best. Please continue to make these sneakers as they are. Do not change anything. I am a size 11-Medium but in these sneakers I bought 10.5 Medium they fit perfect. Thank you USA : God Bless America and its Products :)
I’m always looking for comfy yet supportive shoes for my narrow feet. I need a bit of arch support if possible, but more often than not I switch the removable liner to one of my own. They aren’t the most attractive shoe (I ordered the black) that I own, but I don’t really care about that. I need to feel secure and comfortable when at home or out doing errands. This is everything I had hoped this shoe would offer. I will be purchasing more of this style. Wish it came in white :) New Balance sneakers fit my narrow flat feet the best of all brands I’ve tried (and I’ve tried many brands/styles) over the years. I did not change my normal size when ordering this shoe, and the fit is perfect.
