Nike Free Metcon 5 White Bright Crimson

The Nike Free Metcon 5 White Bright Crimson is a workout shoe that is reinforced with elements to enhance comfort and flexibility for peak performance. This iteration of the Nike Free Metcon 5 is made with a breathable white mesh upper that’s engineered for stretchiness where needed. White overlays make up the toecap and mudguard and run back around the heel. Decorative black stitching attaches the forefoot to the rear part of the shoe, while a small black Nike Swoosh is found under the inner ankle. Bright Crimson accents are found on the top eyelets, as well as on the heel support. The tongue features a pull tab with Nike Free branding, and another Nike Swoosh in Bright Crimson is found vertically on the lateral side of the midsole under the ankle. The shoe’s midsole is chunky and white for extra support, and the outsole is black and white. What stands out about this workout shoe are the Bright Crimson accents, which provide welcome pops of color to the otherwise black and white design. The Nike Free Metcon 5 White Bright Crimson was released on April 6, 2023, for $130.

Comfiest shoes and now a cross trainer believer

I used these during my normal exercise of weight lifting and cardio. Even while jumping and running these shoes stayed snug and did not slip at all. They have great rubber grip on the bottom and the top mesh is nice and breathable. Whenever I exercise I can only marvel at how comfortable they feel. Though I have not worn cross trainers in the past, I will be from this point on given how great these shoes are. Not only are they great for exercise, but they are so comfortable that I wear them for everyday use. The only thing I would change is that the back upper part is a bit high and slightly chafes against your Achilles. An easy fix is to wear thick socks. These shoes are well worth their price, and you will not believe how comfortable they are.

These shoes are very soft, cushiony, and the colors are great combination. I ordered the Men's 12.5. I wear a Women's size 13. Most Nike tennis shoes run a bit short on me, so I went up a half size. I'm glad Nike does this for sizes over 12. There's lots of cushion in the heel. I'm happy that Nike brought in a new white combination bcuz the white selections ways run out early, especially in 12 and 12.5. It would be nice to see those stores who sell Nike shoes carry size 12.5s, too. You'll love them.

Great looking shoe but runs very narrow with a tight toebox. Size up!

Seriously great looking workout shoe that is lightweight while providing awesome supportive cushion to take the impacts your workout throws at you. While I absolutely love the look and lightweight feel of this workout shoe, unfortunately they did not work out for me because the shoe was too tight and narrow on the toebox to comfortably complete my workouts and weight training sets. For reference, I am 6'2 (175 lb athletic build) and wear a true 9.5 mens and am typically on the narrow side when it comes to shoes however, the Nike Free Metcon 5 were just too narrow at the toes that adding pressure up front during weight training was painful and uncomfortable. Maybe going up in size might have fixed this problem for me.I feel these shoes are best for indoor gym ... MoreSeriously great looking workout shoe that is lightweight while providing awesome supportive cushion to take the impacts your workout throws at you. The soft breathable mesh allows for maximum breathability while providing soft stretch for your foot to move naturally. Lunges feel awesome in these shoes as the ankle material lets you move unrestricted which I LOVE! I love the Nike Free feeling where your shoes feel like they are an extension of you.One thing that stands out for me is the wide heel which really helps you feel stable during weight lifting workouts. The stable wide heel takes pressure off my feet and lets me feel secure to lift weights and reach new personal bests.

Great walking shoe
19 January 2023

I am a 62 year old woman. Two years ago I started taking daily walks. In the beginning it was just a mile or so. I am now up to 2.7 miles. I am always looking for comfortable shoes. While I will be using these shoes mainly for walking, I do feel these would be excellent shoes for anyone who is a runner. I tend to buy black shoes since I walk outside. As an added bonus the black goes nicely with my workout clothes. The laces are long enough to double knot but not too long where you could trip. The fabric of the shoe is breathable. I like that the shoe is lightweight while still feeling very supportive. I know I will get many walks in with my new NIKE FREE METCON 5 shoes.

Great, stable training shoe!
21 January 2023

I have several pairs of Frees and other Nike styles but this was my first Metcon pair. These exceeded my expectations. To start, they look really good. Super clean. Unique but cool style. Nice accents. I’ve had several compliments on them already! They look especially good with joggers. As far as comfort, they have the breathability and flexibility of the traditional Free, but the lateral stability of a trainer. They’re absolutely comfortable enough for everyday wear, but have also been perfect playing pickleball, weight lifting, and other activities. So far I haven’t encountered any complaints about them. Overall they’re just great shoes and I’d recommend them to anyone!

Mom of 2 on the run
28 January 2023

As a mom of two that is always on the go. These shoes are comfortable to run errands, go to work, hit the gym, or wear to the park. The appearance is universal so they can be worn with casual to gym attire. They are comfortable, universal, and even though I am heavier they have not “flattened” out. The support is the same now as it was on day one. I plan to buy an extra pair for when these wear out.Numerous people ask about the comfort and if I can wear them all day. I can wear them all day (about 7-8 hours) and my feet do not hurt once removed. They are very easy to get on with a shoe horn if needed as well (for those not as flexible).Overall if you are looking for a shoe to wear and not have sore muscles, these are the shoes you are looking for hands down. Most comfortable trainer I've ever owned!
13 June 2023

Out of the box the shoe fit a bit snug, but just a few hours after wearing it began to shape to my foot. I have been wearing these trainers to work as an occupational therapist where I spend 80% of my day on my feet and 4x days at the gym this past week and all I can say is that I am amazed on how my feet feel, I feel grounded and balanced when I walk and during lifting. The soles are soft but not too soft where it becomes an issue and affects your gait, the upper is durable with water resistant outer toe boxes, yet it retains breathability, and the insoles/sole bend and shape to your foot as you walk allowing for a natural comfortable stride. The design is superb as it looks sporty yet sleek and looks good with slacks/jeans or long socks and shorts. I have already highly recommended these to friends at work and at the gym.

Narrow even for Nikes
6 January 2024

Recently received a pair of these for the gym. Love the look and stability. However, they do feel tight and have a narrow toe box even for Nikes. I do not have a particularly wide foot, and have worn Nike footwear of all types (running, baseball, football, basketball, trainers) for years without issue. This is the first pair I've purchased that felt too tight. Would recommend purchasing a half size larger than your normal size.

New Favorite Shoes

First I want to say I love this shoe and it has become one of my favorites. This shoe fits and feels fantastic, the shoes feels pretty comfortable and very responsive. The feel of these shoes gives you a low-to-the-ground feeling while still providing good support. I love the materials incorporated in this shoe, they are extremely comfortable and fit my feet extremely well. I believe these shoes are very stylish and look good with whatever outfit you’ll wear. Nike Free Metcon 5 Review everyday wear/workout and running
22 January 2023

I wore the Nike Free Metcon 5 for about a week, both around town in everyday wear/working out and running about 15 miles in total over the week. After running in them a bit I can say they provide good support and toe protection, I was able to switch over from my Brooks running shoes with moderate ease. Being training shoes they don't run as well as a traditional running shoe but can still supplement short runs. For working out the thick sole offers great support and a good firm base for whatever I was doing. Im not an avid gym goer and don't classify myself as a weight lifter. But the shoes were a definite step up compared to my normal shoes I wear to the gym.I work out plus/minus 3 days a week and for about 45 min - 1 hours doing weight workouts, HIIT workouts, and cardio exercises. This shoe worked great for all of it.My main comments were oddly going to and from the gym in the shoe and wearing out and about. I have had a variety of shoes over the years, mainly Nike tennis shoes/running shoes and Brooks running shoes. This was the first shoe to have such a thick "platform"/sole and made walking in them initially a little awkward. Lastly, while I do have a bigger foot (typically fit a 11-11.5 but I am always are more comfortable in a 12) there seemed to more than normal cushion on the roof of the shoe in the toe area. I'm sure you would get used to it, but it was not something I've had in a shoe before, its not that they didn't fit, my foot just felt very snug and secure. (something I noticed right away)Overall I think its a great shoe for the Gym, I would not say its a largely versatile shoe. But the Nike Free Metcon 5 worked great for everything I threw at it and it definitely met my expectations.
