The wide, flat heel gets even more stable with an inner plate that distributes weight from edge to edge. It also flexes to make it comfortable for cardio intervals. Nike React foam makes a comfortable, cushioned base that feels lightweight and springy when you kick it into high gear for cardio and sprints. Revamped rubber wraps up your arch for intense grip during rope climbs. Rubber tread gives you traction from the training room floor to the pavement. Lightweight mesh with textured overlays in high-wear areas helps keep your foot cool without sacrificing durability. Tab locks down the laces with a hook-and-loop closure to keep them out of the way. Handstand clip at the heel minimizes drag during wall exercises. Flywire cables integrate with the laces to secure your midfoot. Grooves in the sole let your forefoot bend naturally.

I was looking to replace my very old and beat-up metcons with a newer pair. Availability for my shoe size led me to this shoe as being my only choice. The color is certainly very gauche. The shoe fits pretty tight and I hope with time it stretches across the bridge of my foot. The toe box is fine, as is the length. There is a noticeable lift in the heel which will take some time to get used to. The back of the heel is hard as a rock. Running in these will take getting used to. The rope climb guard weaved into the side is unnecessary. This is petty but, I bought my last pair 3 and a quarter years ago, and this newest pair was 2x the standard list cost. I know supply chain challenges are a thing, but I certainly felt exploited by Nike. (shrug, I know the other ... MoreI was looking to replace my very old and beat-up metcons with a newer pair. First and foremost I’d like to mention that the Metcon 7 does run small and I recommend going a half size up. I can confidently say that the Metcon 7 is the best all-around training shoe to date. The construction is of high quality and is very durable. I loved the designed and color combination. The highlight green really stands out but it is not too flashy. My workouts consists of 50% cardio and 50% weight training and I do not recommend these for long runs or any sport that requires a lot of running. On the weight room it is a different story. They were perfect for squatting, weighted lunges, deadlifts, etc. You get more balance and thus optimizing your reps. This shoe was a game changer that I don’t even mind taking an extra pair of shoes for my cardio on the side.

From the moment I put on this shoe, I knew it had potential to replace my other shoes I wore to the gym. When this product arrived my family was curious about the shoe and said they loved the look of it. I would describe the fit on the shoe as like a sock. It hugs your foot and keeps it firm in place. Especially with the velcro lace lock the shoe has, you never have to worry about stopping mid set or mid run to retie your shoes. Along with the strong support beneath your heel, this shoe makes longer distance walks and runs easy on the body and comfortable on your feet. I wore them to the gym, running in the neighborhood, and even to the grocery store. They fit comfortable and are an overall great multi purpose shoe you can wear anywhere. I’m looking forward to going hiking with these shoes to see just how great they will be. The overall design of the shoe has a sleek athletic look to it and I love how there are a variety of color choices to pick from so whether you want to be mild with a black shoe or bright with an orange or red color, you can truly express yourself. Personally, I have yet to find something that I would change about this shoe. After trying working out with four other shoes, these are the best ones in my opinion. Overall, after a few workout sessions and wearing this shoe in my every day life, I can truly say this shoe will be one that I look into buying more colors of for myself and my family.

I bought these shoes three weeks ago and really enjoy them. They're a good all around gym shoe and aren't uncomfortably rigid. I've walked in them indoors for about 2hr each day and have hit legs 4-5 times in them so far. I looked at the bottoms today and was super bummed to see that they're already wearing down on the heels. The heel has just a very thin rubber layer below the plastic structure so that's not a good indicator that they'll be an effective shoe for very long. The mesh has held up fine so far and surprisingly the velcro patch above the laces hasn't beat the laces up too badly yet (they just get caught on it when you tie your shoes).4.5 star shoe for me, but wearing out this quickly I could not buy another pair in good conscience, hence the 2 stars.
I absolutely love my Metcon 7's. I have the Mat Fraser Special Editions (bought them first) and they are Amazing! my favorite training shoe by far compared to the past Metcon's or Nanos. But this particular shoe, the Member Exclusive Light Bone/Gum Medium Brown/Sail/ Multi-Color Style: DH2727-091 (I have heard it is supposed to be produced with recycled materials) have failed terribly. After owning them for 10 days (about 5-6 good workouts) the right shoe just started to fall apart. The shoe was amazing and felt really good. I loved working out in them until I noticed something under my foot and when I looked, it was the rubber coming unglued from the sole of the shoe and had rolled back. Then under further inspection i could see multiple places where the glue wasn't holding up. I thought maybe I had just one bad shoe until a friend of mine who has the exact same pair was having the exact same issue. We have 5 different pairs of Metcon 7's between the two of us and this model is the only one that is not staying together. I love this color way and Struggle with returning them as I know I will never be able to get a new pair since they are out of stock everywhere... Wish I could just send them in for repair...However, I would still recommend any of the other Metcon 7 models with a 5 star rating.
I have always worked out in running shoes and didn't realize I would want a shoe for gym days. These fit great right out of the box, even with my need for a slightly wider toe box. They were true to size and comfortable. The colors are sharp and materials are built to last. The added stability of a gym shoe was great for lifting and the floor segment of my HIIT workouts. The transition to the tread for cardio was comfortable as the shoes provide adequate support without too much stiffness. In addition to the foam for running and support for strength training, the Metcon 7 breathes, keeping my feet cool and comfortable. I would recommend these shoes to anyone who likes to workout, mixing both the weight room and cardio in your routine.
I’ve been wearing these shoes for CrossFit for about 8 months now and I love them for everything but running.I’ve tried all the “CrossFit” shoes and by far Metcons are the best for me - the fit, the stability, and the versatility are excellent. Mine have also held up extremely well. I had a defect with the first pair after wearing them a few weeks and Nike replaced them no muss no fuss. The replacements still look new.The only drawback for me is the heel clip - it’s a rigid plastic that extends quite a ways into the shoes and it makes running in them awful. Not a big deal for short duration runs but if I see anything more than a couple of 200m runs on the board i’ll wear different shoes.
Got my Metcon7s in the mail today took them for a quick jog and some light cardio. Hands down nicest pair I've ever owned. Love the construction, the fit and so far they seem to be working out really well. My first Metcon was the 5s and to be honest was not impressed, they slipped around on court surfaces and the fit was just not good, even with the laces tight I still had situations where my heel would pop out of the shoe. These 7s seem to have fixed a lot of those issues. The bottom of the shoe is gum rubber feels really grippy even on slick surfaces. One observation though that gum rubber sole does wear quickly, edge of heel already lost its grippy texture with first run. Could be the surfaces I'm running on which is gritty pavement.
I received these as a gift. I loved my Metcon 5's and these seemed to be a great iteration of those upon first wear! However, I quickly found that there was a deficit in the quality of the materials as within 6-weeks of wear the top mesh had worn a hole about the size of a dime. This is incredibly unfortunate. If you are set on the Metcons, the Metcon 5's, if you can find them, are great shoes! I'd steer clear of these unless there has been improvements made on the quality/durability!I will note that Nike is usually great to deal with on a customer-service basis. I am just currently deployed in an area that is 10 hours ahead of their operations, so that stacked on this being a gift (ie no customer receipt) would make it a headache to deal with... that and APOs ... MoreI received these as a gift. If you are stateside, I am sure Nike will work with you expediently!
Super pair of trainers. Fantastic deal. Thank you for the honesty and being a good human. Many thanks. Tghenriques
