You're one of those athletes who run around the clock, challenging and encouraging each other to shatter goals. This must-have training shoe features a lighter, more breathable upper than our previous version without losing any of the strength and comfort to help you perform at your best and dominate your workouts. This version features a retractable heel that allows you to put it on without your hands and then snaps back into position to hold your foot in place, while the flexible heel retracts when you put it on and snaps back into place. Flexible and responsive, the Nike React foam provides comfortable, lightweight and dynamic cushioning when you engage in cardio workouts and sprints. Grippy rubber wraps the arch for intense rope climbs. The rubber outsole gives you optimal grip and stability when you go from the gym floor to the pavement. The flat, wide heel gains stability with an internal plate that distributes weight from edge to edge. It also moves with your foot for comfort during your cardio workouts and sprints. Lightweight mesh with textured reinforcements on wear areas to give you maximum coolness without losing strength. A tongue locks the laces with a Velcro closure to keep you out of the way. A heel clip keeps you from slipping when exercising against the wall. Grooves on the sole allow the forefoot to bend naturally.

I’ve had a lot of different styles of shoes through the years of powerlifting, I used to deadlift in some old Jordan’s or any kind of flat bottomed shoes I could find but I would get so annoyed having to swap to different style of shoes depending on what I was style of workout I was doing, that all finally ended. The metcon 8’s are the best all around workout shoe, they have a flatter heal for deadlifts and are still comfortable when doing cardio or any other fast paced workouts. I’ve even been wearing to work and I’m on my feet for 10-12 hours a day and my feet have were not in pain at all at the end of my days. I will say the one downside for me is probably honestly just a specific issue to just me, I have a taller foot so sometimes the laces felt a little short ... Over all I would give the metcon 8s a 8/10 if you’re looking for a great all purpose active shoe this is your guy.

I 'upgraded' to a pair of custom Metcon 8's straight from the website after having the Metcon 4's and being absolutely in love with them. The Metcon 8 turned out to be a disappointment. They are VERY different from the Metcon 4. To start, they are very narrow - especially in the toe, and the heel plate is rigid plastic which makes them feel really weird. There is no cushion or spring that I could feel. I did find that the rigid plastic heel plate gave me good stability when doing heavy squats, but they are so uncomfortable that I can't wear them walking down the street. The rigid heel plate makes them bend in a really odd way at the midpoint of the shoe. I haven't worn them to the point of wearing them out, but I bet that will be first point of failure down the road ... I gave them a solid try, but I ended up going back and buying another pair of Metcon 4's. The 4's are fantastic across everything I do in the gym as well as on the sidewalks and streets. I'm sure this is a solid shoe for some people, but definitely try them on in-person and give them a walkabout before committing.

The Nike Metcon 8 is a great training shoe for the gym. It provides great arch support and a sturdy heal for lifting. I wouldn’t you use this shoe primarily for lifting as the constructs of a proper lifting shoe would provide greater support in the right areas, however, for all purpose gym training this is a phenomenal shoe. The lace lock on the upper tongue is great to avoid your laces coming undone during a training session.Note that the show has a firmer feel on the soul when working out in relation to more cushioned Nike shoes like the Pre Days.

The Nike Metcon 8 are very lightweight and flexible. The material felt durable and comfortable to wear for couple of hours of the day. The shoes are very breathable and I can feel the winter breeze between my toes when worn outside.I mainly wore the Nike Metcon 8 for weightlifting and for short cardio workouts. It is a really stable pair of shoes. I can feel my feet glued to the ground and not budge a bit and made every of my lifts feel and look perfect. Wouldn’t recommend for running as the outsoles feel kind of clunky on the landing.
I love the looks of the shoe and how stable the heel fits. The hyperlift piece gives me a secure feeling while performing the exercises. My only complaint is the fit and the lockdown. I think the shoe would do great with an additional laceloop to fit the heel better. In regards to the toebox, it feels rather spacious, a bit too much really, but I would not size down because then the midfoot would feel too tight. Overall I like how the shoe feels while hitting the workout, but the fit and lockdown do not convince me that much. It might be my foot shape though, so it might fit great for others
Upon wearing these shoes, they seem to be pretty light on your feet. I did have an issues with the sizing. I typically wear a size 11 but I would say if you are serious about getting these shoes, I would go a half size up to make it feel comfortable to perform well in. To me, my feet felt too snug with my true size, so to make sure your feel comfortable and movable, go a half size up. Overall the shoe looks good and definitely light on your feet as I stated as a person who is into cross fit, they will do you well. You cannot ask for a better, lighter, breathable shoe as my feet tend to get sweaty when I am really working out, so the mesh on these makes it easier on your feet to not feel like they are being overworked. Also, I do get compliments on them and am asked ... MoreUpon wearing these shoes, they seem to be pretty light on your feet. I did have an issues with the sizing. Love these and will work with getting more like these in the future.
Starting with the design of the shoe, it is subtle and sharp. The shoe lines are simple making the shoe appear supporting and solid. And then just a slight pop with the wavy lines of the check part of the swoosh. The fit itself is nice for the purpose of working out. The heel feels solid and really supported when you need to push through that squat. The mid foot is locked in with the outer side extra support making the foot feel locked in. The toe section with a durable mesh and extra grid support on the outside ready for a solid push off with out feeling like you might blow out the pinky toe portion. The toe box was definitely stiff at first but after a solid few workouts it was much more flexible. The overall weight of the shoe is light which was a nice surprise ... The lace lock technology is great to keep those laces in check while doing a lot of movement. The shoe is a great workout shoe, although I do not think I could wear the shoe all day long due to the fact the mid foot is so locked into the shoe which is great for the workout but the mid foot needs a little breathing room for comfort throughout the entire casual part of the day. What I like most about the shoe is the adaptive balance of the shoe which provides a collaboration to be able to do any type of training in just one shoe. If I were to try something new with the shoe I would test bringing the rubbery grid all the way around the big toe side of the toe box as I imagine it would feel more supportive with out giving up flexibility or breathability. Overall impressive good looking training shoe.
Started getting back into my routine of working out and needed a shoe with good support for cross training. The shoe felt great from the moment I put it on. The material was flexible and provided me with support during my workout. Squats were an ease. The shoe accompanied my foot very well thanks to the material and design of the shoe. I could honestly wear this shoe for all my workout needs. What I liked the most about the shoe was the support I received without the heavy feel. The shoe was light and durable which made it easier to move and train. I do wish there was more ankle support. I would recommend to my workout friends.
These are not for running or walking. These are purely a power lifting training shoe. If you want to lift weights get these. They have good ankle support and stabilization. They have zero cushion or bounce . I wanted more cushion in my step so I will be returning these . The tongue has a Velcro for the laces which is cool. The tongue is super tight so if you have high arches like I do may need a different shoe. They have a wierd plastic hook in the back but not strong enough to pull shoe up with , purely decorative and kinda ugly imo. See pics. Over asthetic gets a 9. Comfort gets a 3.
