My foot is on the narrow side of average and I imagine someone with a wider foot might be more comfortable if they sized up half a size. Also, I have high arches so if I could change anything, I would make the arches a bit higher. I think an insert would make the shoes too tight so there’s no workaround for that.Comfortability: I would definitely wear these to work out, participate in a fitness class, or go for a run. They are not shoes I would wear for a full day of walking, attending an outdoor concert, or comfortable lounging. The Metcons 8 are great for what they’re made for- athletic activity but they are not for ath-leisure.Overall I would rate the Metcon 8s a 4 out of 5. They are a solid shoe and I am glad to have them. Shoes make a huge difference in the quality of a workout and these are a good choice

Fantastic all-round gym shoe

I replaced my much-loved Nike React Metcon Turbos with these after they sadly fell part. These have taken a bit of getting used to but I am happy with them overall. They have a bit more support in the heel and feel less slipper-like. The sole does feel a little stiffer and I don't feel as much contact with the floor but they are great gym shoe for a range of HIIT style activities. They also look good, which is nice, and I haven't had any soreness or rubbing which often happens with new shoes.

Great for Weights

I have had my eyes on these shoes for a while and I am so glad I have them now. Usually, I lift weights in my running shoes, but these have changed my mind. The second I put them on I felt support exactly where I needed it to lift heavier. They helped my balance for squats and deadlifts. This allowed me to shift my focus to perfecting my form instead of staying upright. I did notice that the sole does not allow for normal foot flexion, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend for cross training or HIIT workouts. However, they are perfect for my boot camps that are part spin class part weight lifting. The shoes do run slightly small as I wear an 9.5 in my epic react running shoes and the 9.5 in these feel a bit more snug, maybe size up one half size for more comfort. ... MoreI have had my eyes on these shoes for a while and I am so glad I have them now. Left me unable to walk after wearing 3 days in a row
27 April 2023

I bought these after trying on about 20 different pairs. When I wore them to the gym I felt supported and also stable when doing Hitt style even treadmill. Seemed good 2 days. Then on the third day my heel had so much paid I couldn’t even increase my speed on the treadmill past 2 and once done I couldn’t put pressure on my foot for multiple days. Inside there is a very hard heal cup of some kind and I am pretty sure that I bruised some deep tissue or something. These shoes were not good for me. And now I am suffering.

Love them
15 January 2023

Bought them for training as needed some new gym trainers. Was slightly sceptical before I got them as I thought they may have had a bit of give in the heal, but they don't feel to do. They are fantastic for training legs. And once you get used to them after a couple of wears they are pretty good for cardio also. If your used to a Nike Air type trainer though these are not that. They feel flat when u walk, hence why they are ace for training legs. Feel a little snug on the feet which I like when training but not everyone will so just be aware.

Low quality for the brand.
20 March 2023

I started strength training last year so wanted to get these as they came highly recommended. Unfortunately, considering the brand, they seemed like they missed a few steps during quality control. With glue being visible and was clearly worn - found some stops and dirt underneath. The brand also suggests they are good for doing some cardio as well but I don’t think I’d be able to with the cushioning being fairly minimal and firm.Okay, but returned them because I wanted something a little robust that’s was also suitable for light cardio.

Metcon 8
2 December 2022

The shoes run small. I consider my foot to be skinny and narrow and the shoes still fit me tight. The issue with the shoe is the tongue. The tongue is squishy, takes up too much room and moves too much. The shoes are so tight on my foot that I don’t have to lace them to walk. I definitely don’t recommend for wide feet. I normally wear a size 6 women but I think I should have got a size 7 instead. The two things I liked about the shoes were the reflective material used on the outside and the Velcro lace lock on the tongue. Other than that they run too small and the heels are very stiff. The shoe isn’t flexible to have long walks or run with.

Metcon 8 Great
30 November 2022

Received a pair of Metcon 8, my pair in this series and overall it's a great pair of training kicks. I've been wearing them for about 2 weeks now while I'm working. I do a lot of walking, bending down, kneeling, getting and out of tall/large vehicle and squatting while I go about my work day of 10 hours, 4 days a week, and no complaints so far. I will admit I was surprised by how comfortable they would be, was worried about the flat & hard soles of the shoes not being comfortable, and I worried for nothing. They also have really great grip & traction. My main use for them will be gor work but I could see these being used at the gym. Overall very happy with them.

Metcon 8 Womens Sneaker works for my wide feet
17 November 2022

I have a wider front foot and was worried they'd be too narrow but they're actually the perfect width. I usually wear a size 9, grabbed a 9.5 and have no regrets. I really like the tab on the laces to hold them in place and the rubber wraps on the arches feels like they'll withstand even the most brutal rope climbs, the traction for rope work is awesome. Don't expect a comfy run in these sneakers so keeping runs to a couple of hundred metres at most is all I could handle. They are stiff and rigid and sort of click clack when you walk in them. They also aren't the most aesthetically pleasing pair of sneakers I've ever owned but practical for any CrossFit workout with the exception of longer runs, overall a high quality sneaker that I'd recommend for CrossFit workouts.

Superb all round training shoe
23 September 2022

As a Crossfit coach/athlete, I can say that the new Nike Metcon is a fantastic shoe to train not only cardio but weights equally as well. The shoe has a low heel counter making it perfect for squatting as the shoe provides adequate stability whilst the amount of cushioning in the shoe is perfect for plyometric exercises such as box jumps and burpees. I am normally a D width shoe size 10, but I found the size 10 too long. I purchased a size 9.5 and the shoe has a 'standard' B width. Fits well.
