I typically wear Mercurials, and these Phantom Luna II Elite’s wear very similarly for me.The gripskin upper is by far the grippiest upper I have worn. I first wore them in a game played in a rain storm, and my firdt touch couldn’t have been better. Since he outgrown his last pair in 2020, he has primarily ran through the complete Phantom elite line the last 4 years and always compared them to the hypervenoms. Since receiving these he’s said they made up for all of the flaws of the phantom GT’s and GX’s. Also he complimented how the grip of the ball was better than the Hypervenom’s which no clear he’s tried ever came close to. This cleat provides adequate cushioning, helping absorb impact and enhances overall comfort during play. The cleats fit snugly without causing discomfort or pressure points. The cleats do run small so I would get 1/2 size up compared to what you normally wear in daily sneaker wear. The design in a unique pattern that pops when you look at the cleat form a distance. There's proper ankle support with the banded wrapping at the ankle this cleat provides. This may be because I have a wider foot and the elastic around the ankle makes it a little challenging to put on without the shoe horn. In regards to the fit, I though the boot was tight in the toebox and unbalanced in the midfoot. Last month, I purchased Nike's Phantom Luna II Elite FG soccer shoes before the upcoming soccer season. When I unboxed them, I was surprised to see how narrow they looked, however upon trying them on they fit snuggly. I'm a size nine and the shoes took a little finessing to slide into with the upper sock lining. Running my hands over the stitching, I was amazed at the attention to detail Nike put forth in bringing these shoes to life as I could feel the energy my feet were beginning to harness. The bottom of the shoe/ cleat area was a hard plastic with semi-pronounced cleats.Warming up for my first practice, the shoes felt smooth and were easy to break in. Each cut during my drills, the cleats perfectly planted in the turf. It wasn't until the scrimmage started ... MoreLast month, I purchased Nike's Phantom Luna II Elite FG soccer shoes before the upcoming soccer season. When I unboxed them, I was surprised to see how narrow they looked, however upon trying them on they fit snuggly. I'm a size nine and the shoes took a little finessing to slide into with the upper sock lining. Running my hands over the stitching, I was amazed at the attention to detail Nike put forth in bringing these shoes to life as I could feel the energy my feet were beginning to harness. The bottom of the shoe/ cleat area was a hard plastic with semi-pronounced cleats.Warming up for my first practice, the shoes felt smooth and were easy to break in. Each cut during my drills, the cleats perfectly planted in the turf. It wasn't until the scrimmage started that I was able to feel and become the soccer star of my dreams. My passes with the soccer shoes were crisp and the shots that were propelled from the contact zone of my shoes were with pinpoint accuracy. I was able to dribble the ball with ease and felt secure in my soccer shoes without them coming untied or loose. Post practice, my teammates were asking what I did that offseason to get so good.Three games into my season, I've become known as the league's Phantom Menace - perfectly fitting for after the name of the Nike shoes. I've recorded two goals and an assist and plan on doing more damage as the season progresses. My only knock on the shoes is the cleats do not cut as well on thicker grass or taller grassy fields; they work best on shorter grass or turf fields. The Nike Phantom Luna II Elite FG is the best choice for any soccer player looking for an edge on the field.
