Maintaining breathability ensures that your horse doesn't become clammy and uncomfortable in wet or damp conditions. If the outer fabric absorbs water then it can lose up to 70% of breathability. The DWR on a new rug will eventually wear off and need to renewed to ensure it remains fit for purpose. Nikwax Rug Proof can be used by hand or in a washing machine.
