We eat a lot of nutritional yeast—sometimes on tofu, sometimes as a healthy alternative to parmesan or romano cheese. It has a similar cheesy taste and is a great sub if you're trying to avoid or cut down on dairy for any reason. It's also really good on popcorn with a little hot sauce, non-dairy butter and salt. Add the salt and hot sauce to melted butter. Pour that on and shale it around. Then sprinkle on a generous amount of nutritional yeast and eat it. Don't shake the popcorn to mix it in once you've added the yeast or it'll all fall to the bottom of the bowl and you'll have wasted it.

I like these flakes very much. They are of great quality and the ingredients are really good. For me it’s a real superfood. I can eat them with everything. I mix them with my pasta, porridge or soup. My diet becomes more diverse and I like this cheese taste. The package is very big and one can use it for months. I recommend these flakes, because they improved my health and I feel great when eating them.

N. Yeast is a complete source of Protein. It's one of other many sources of protein for vegans and vegetarians, along with Buckwheat, Amaranth, Tofu, Quinoa. By the way, NY is one of precursors for NAD+.NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is an enzyme found in every cell in our bodies. NAD+ levels decline with age. Inadequate levels of NAD+ can cause many age-related diseases and dysfunctions, including premature aging. NAD+ also restores adult stem cell function and extends lifespan. NAD+ rejuvenates aged gut stem cells. So, nutritional yeast is a very valuable supplement. It is tasty and should be used every day for your own benefit. Consistency is the key!Highly recommended.

I LOVE this nutritional yeast. I use it on scrambled tofu with peppers and onions and on popcorn. It has a fine powdered texture and a cheesy taste that I really enjoy. It is loaded with B Vitamins and is healthier than real cheese which has saturated fats. Two heaping tablespoons are only 60 calories. WOW! The potassium in this is 320mg and the sodium is only 5mg. per serving. I feel great choosing this over cheese. I will always be a loyal customer for as long as they carry this product. This can is nutty, almost smoky tasting, although not as strong or tasty as it was 10 years ago. Brewer’s yeast is not as tasty or nutritious as nutritional yeast. The yeast used to raise bread is an entirely different product. Fortified yeasts effectively have synthetic vitamins sprayed on it, like kid’s cereal, and will interfere with proper b vitamin absobtion. Dr. Sears has recently publized research showing that this yeast has a newly dicovered form of b vitamin only obtainable fro one other seldom eaten food, so if you are pre- diabetic this is critical. Do not expect to get 100% of your b vitamins from any one food or pill- you need multiple sources. For example, also get grass fed beef liver. I Love Nooch

No, this isn't baker's yeast, and it won't help your bread rise. But it will make a nice addition to vegan "cheesy" sauce, homemade salad dressing, tofu scrambles, popcorn seasoning, etc.I like to use it to add a cheesy essence to biscuits, by replacing a small amount of flour in the recipe (like 1/4 cup out of a total 2 cups of flour). Impress your omnivore friends by making a batch of queso from this nutritional yeast + spices + plant based milk and a bit of margarine, whisked together and simmered on the stove (thicken with a bit of cornstarch, if desired). And hey, it's got the added benefit of B vitamins, too! It's more cost effective to buy nutritional yeast in bulk; but if you don't have bulk bins or a health food store nearby, this is the next best thing. ... MoreNo, this isn't baker's yeast, and it won't help your bread rise. Don't bother with those tiny shaker canisters, they're a ripoff. This package is one of the best value selections I've found, in terms of unit price. The NOW brand has never let me down, and this nooch is the same top quality I'm used to finding at the health food store.

Taste, price, and nutritional content
9 April 2021

I haven't tried other brands of nutritional yeast except for Bragg and NowFoods. Both Bragg and Now Foods nutritional yeast have the same taste to me. If both were the same price, I would choose Bragg because of the nutrient content and the fact that the label says gluten-free, Non-GMO, vegetarian, and sugar-free. One serving of Bragg doesn't contain an excessive amount of each vitamin, but NowFoods does. However, the B vitamins are water soluble, and vitamin toxicity is not common so maybe I'm overreacting and it's not a big deal. Here's the nutritional content for Bragg and NowFoods:riboflavin (b2) 160% (Bragg) vs. 460% (NowFoods)pyridoxine (b6) 140% (Bragg) vs. 350% (NowFoods)vitamin b12 40% (Bragg) vs. 580% (NowFoods)zinc 6% (Bragg)thiamine (b1) 180% ... MoreI haven't tried other brands of nutritional yeast except for Bragg and NowFoods. The most delicious nutritional yeast!
20 February 2022

If you are like me and have been looking for a long time for a tasty nutritional yeast to add to all sorts of dishes for a cheesy flavor, then you can stop your search with this product!Unfortunately, here in Germany a lot of nutritional yeast tastes rather unpleasant and empty, and it makes no sense to add it to sauces. But NOW nutritional yeast is just perfect! It is not only delicious, but also very healthy, a real superfood! It contains a full complex of essential amino acids and B vitamins.Nutritional yeast can be added to salad or pasta sauces, to scrambled tofu, mashed potatoes and other dishes, whatever you wish! The price for such a package is just great! This amount is enough for a long time, as it is very economical due to its intense flavor.

This is good nutritional yeast

I usually buy my nutritional yeast in bulk but this was convenient so I figured I'd give it a try. A little more expensive than bulk price but still very good. I like the large container as well. Keeps it airtight. So many benefits from taking nutritional yeast that we don't often get from real food. A few of the B vitamins as well was potassium and zinc. I will take a couple of tablespoons of this a day along with my Vit D3/K2. These along with the magnesium I take keep me healthy, I believe.I use nutritional yeast for baking, too. Even though the recipe doesn't call for it, I add a TBSP to the full recipe and it adds a buttery flavor to my bread rounds. There is nothing negative about nutritional yeast, in my opinion. Anyone who hasn't tried it, should research ... MoreI usually buy my nutritional yeast in bulk but this was convenient so I figured I'd give it a try. I like that they don't use a lot of unnecessary additives. Keep it simple and clean is my way of thinking.
