I like a good deal so I buy my whey through 3 criteria, No heavy metals, No artificial sweeteners, good grams of protein per dollar amount. I'll be honest, this tastes like how you'd expect an industrially extracted product would taste, really bad. But it is pure protein, no nasty stuff. So if you're broke or just want a really clean product with no junk in it, this one is the way to go. Also I'm a cook so I usually just take a food scale and add in whatever junk I wanna put in. (The best recipe I found was 56g of protein powder, 50 cals of a nut butter, 60ml of milk, pinch of salt, a glug of immitate vanilla, and 5g of coco powder, it goes right down the hatch)If you wanna be extra feral during cutting season, just blend it up with some water (AND DRINK FAST, DO ... NOW Foods Whey Protein Isolate in Creamy Chocolate flavor is an absolute game-changer! The taste is rich and indulgent, making it a pleasure to drink after workouts or as a meal replacement. It mixes smoothly with no clumps, and I love how quickly it dissolves in water or milk. As for the results, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my muscle recovery and overall strength. The high protein content and low carbs are perfect for my fitness goals. If you’re looking for a tasty, effective protein supplement, this is definitely worth trying!

I've never had Whey Protein before & researched extensively adding whey to my diet as I'm in menopause. It's a huge challenge for me to get the amount of daily protein I need just through food. I always feel fatigued from my 70-minute daily power yoga. This tells me my muscle recovery is not happening. I've been taking 1 serving a day, for about 2 weeks now, and have to say, the fatigue has significantly reduced. I think the extra protein and the amino acids have really helped in my muscle recovery and I believe, over time, will aid in maintaining and building lean muscle (no easy feat, if you know anything about what menopause does to hormone production). I add it to 1 cup of water, and it has a very mild "plastic-ish"(?) taste,..I'm not sure how else to describe ... I just chug this down quickly and there is no aftertaste. I've never tried flavoured whey products before, so I don't know what they're like. But I do know that you get many more servings with the unflavoured 5lb container compared to the 5lb products that are flavoured. So you are getting more value. Whey is not cheap, so I need to get the most for my money, I definitely recommend this product. Whether you have it with just water or milk or whatever.

I haven't started this yet, but I'm looking forward to supplementing this whenever my daily protein consumption falls short. E.g. I may add to a morning shake. I've recently started transitioning to a diet more plant-based & sometimes find myself struggling to get high quality protein. Especially as I'm > 65, I try to ensure daily adequate protein intake to minimize muscle wasting, which isn't emphasized enough for the elderly. I think the fear of animal-based protein (TMAO, etc) may cause folks to swing to the other side of the pendulum; we must guard against muscle wasting. So so critical to maintain--& build--muscle strength as we grow into our golden years. Besides getting optimal amt in diet--on a daily basis--I've started recording my intake--important w/each ... This brand from NOW seems to be of high quality-though not NSF, there is certification which makes it a good choice.
Considered a few factors before making my purchase and decided to make the review after taking it for 2 weeks:[Pros]On the nutritional profile front -- Only 7 quality ingredients were used which is what I'm comfortable putting in my system, conducted desktop research and all the ingredients reflected are beneficial in the longer term with literature reviews to substantiate. On the taste front -- You can already smell the cocoa once you opened the lid and it is not processed with alkali (compared to most WPI products out there), taste of cocoa is evident and taste great (again, compared to most WPI products which used cocoa powder and the cocoa taste doesn't come out / is as apparent). Sweetness-wise it works for me even though I have a sweet tooth, doesn't taste ... Sweetness-wise it works for me even though I have a sweet tooth, doesn't taste as sweet as the other top brands out there. On the consistency & mixability front -- Very easy to mix even with cold water using just my shaker bottle and no clumps sighted at all. Consistency is smooth just like any regular smoothie. On the packaging front -- I like that the bottle is transparent so I have sight whenever my WPI is running low, opening is wide as with any other WPI bottles. On the efficacy front -- Took for 2 weeks before submitting my review and recovery did improve when I'm on WPI, soreness felt shorter and I can start lifting heavy again. Still not sick of the taste too :)[Cons]Packaging wise -- Downside is that the scoop is some odd rectangular shape so powder might spill if not careful, and not helpful when trying to fill my blender stack containers. Swapped with the round scoops and problem solved for me.
NOW Sports products are comprehensively tested so you can trust that our products are pure and effective for every level of athletics.PROTEIN POWDER WITH BCAAs: Whey Protein Isolate is a high-quality protein that is both bioavailable and easily digested.: Mix one level scoop into your daily smoothie for 25 g of protein per serving. Taste niceGMP Quality Assured: NPA A-rated GMP certification means that every aspect of the NOW manufacturing process has been examined, including our laboratory/testing methods (for stability, potency, and product formulation).Packaged in the USA by a family
NOW protein (unflavored) comes in 2 types: Isolate & Whey. Both are both derived from milk concentration. The Isolate version contains less fat and less carbs (it's been filtered to remove the lactose). So isolate is more suitable for those with difficulty digesting lactose. Whey version contains 19g of protein/24 g serving while the Isolate has 25g of protein/28g serving. So the Whey version contains more protein in this case thus the slightly higher pricing ($0.10/serving). If you're trying to bring down the saturated fat & carbs content, the isolate version is way to go. One downside of this NOW protein is the clear/see through container. I prefer an opaque container to keep the powder content away from light. 1 star off.
It’s cool. I LOVE that it’s UNFLAVORED! It mixes well with room temperature liquid however, you must be strategic when mixing with hot liquids (coffee)! I believe this to be due to the low sodium content (when compared to others), which I appreciate!Firstly, you’ll need a smaller scooper. Next, you must have a handheld mixer and create a well in the center of your hot coffee; then slowly add the the powder into the center of the well as you continuously mix it with the handheld mixer. Otherwise, you’ll be chewing your coffee which is unpleasant and will ultimately throw it away.If you add the powder to liquid and then warm it up, it turns solid which is good for baking not drinking.I also appreciate the secure container, which is better than a bag. I ordered another brand that was shipped in a bag and it was bursted and wasted all over the inside of the plastic shipping bag they decided to ship the plastic bag of whey protein isolate in🤦🏽♀️
This Whey protein powder is better than I expected. Smells good, tastes good, dissolves quickly with brisk stirring. I am pleased with the abundant amino acids, which include the 4 main ones for healthier hair. You can Google for your daily protien needs determined by your weight ÷ by 2.2 x 0.8 equals protein daily needs to maintain. If needed, you can adjust the amount the included one scoop provides, (goggle) to calculate the equivalent of x grams of powder to teaspoons, then calculate how many teaspoons of protien powder you need or desire based on your gender. weight, life style. Or better yet, inquire with your healthcare provider. You may know an easier way to calculate.
