I picked this because, out of all the protein powders, this one had the most protein (~36.8 grams of protein per dollar for the 10 lb natural unflavored one at the time of this review) for my money.I got the 1.2 lb tub, in case I didn't end up liking it. but I'm glad I took the risk and bought it. The stuff mixes well within seconds in water with a spoon; and tastes pretty good, especially with cinnamon & (NOW) creatine monohydrate. I'm glad I tried it, and will most definitely buy again, most likely the 10 lb bag of the unflavored as it's more cost effective. :)*EDIT*One HUGE caveat. Unless there was a mistake, the scooper they send you with it does not give you a serving (28g) of the powder, but 1.5 servings (~42g) of it, even when flat. Which would explain why I was going through the stuff faster than I originally thought. So I had to dock them from a 10/10 to a 5/10 because, again, unless that was an honest mistake, it was pretty shady of NOW Sports.Ironically, a scooper with another whey protein I saved for over 10 years actually does indeed give the correct amount of whey protein powder, so I'm using that one instead.Hence why it's always a good idea to weigh out your serving sizes on a digital scale just to be sure.EDIT 2: To be fair, the 10 lb bag does have a proper sized scoop (though I still prefer to weigh to be sure, as it seems to under weigh the amount needed), so I've decided to bump them back up to a 10/10.

There's a lot to be said for not putting mass quantities of sucralose in your body. That stuff screws up your digestion for real. I'm glad there's at least 1 alternative to the sweetened crap out there. This is how whey is supposed to be. Digests quickly without feeling gassy and your recovery rate is very high when coupled with proper sleep. I drink it straight with water in a shaker. Kind of just tastes like bitter milk. Not really a problem. I have 4 scoops a day, 2 in the morning and 2 after my workout. It gets the job done without a fuss. I've probably ordered this product 6 times now and I will continue to do so. This is also $10 more than most whey brands so that kind of sucks. I guess it makes sense since bodybuilding.com will ONLY SELL 1 NATURALLY ... MoreThere's a lot to be said for not putting mass quantities of sucralose in your body. After a couple years of taking protein supplements, I can say that it's worth it to keep the extraneous stuff out of you.I'm disappointed my only other option on bodybuilding.com is ON's stevia blends. Stevia still isn't that good for you. I'm forced to use that for caesin.

A lot of the criticism levied against this product on here is unfounded. Is this powder the greatest thing ever? No. However much of the 'negatives' reflect customers who should not have purchased this product to begin with. I will attempt to explain why.First off, people say that it is "too foamy" when blended. Well, maybe you should buy a protein powder with a chemical in it to inhibit foaming.Second off, people say that it does not taste good. I think it's digusting how long the list is on a lot of the boutique powders, and if you ask a sales rep. what they do, they can only give you the company line- which is 90% of the time not even remotely medically accurate. It's basically cutting the stuff need to make more money. So, first ingredient here is Microfiltered Whey Protein. That's what you want, warts and all. Flavor, color, texture- if you wanted WPI- then deal with it. Second ingredient is Soy Lechithin which is less than 1% of the product (it says so on the packaging). That's for (brace yourself, big word coming up) emulsification. In other words, it keeps powder, well, powdery. It basically prevents the whey (milk product) from caking up or breaking down. It's basically in everything you eat.

I trust the NOW Foods brand and have been using this Whey Protein Isolate for a couple of years. I love the fact that it is unsweetened and unflavored and only contains a small amount of sunflower lecithin as an added ingredient. It tastes great and makes smooth and creamy protein shakes. I tried some (very gritty) hemp protein powder, and could not wait to switch back to the NOW Foods whey protein! I feel like it helps build muscle better than other types of protein powders I've tried. A 10 pound container will last you a long time, but as long as you keep it in a dark, dry and cool place, I doubt its quality would deteriorate in any way. And, as always, thank you Vitacost for having the best price on this product (and many others)!
I like a good deal so I buy my whey through 3 criteria, No heavy metals, No artificial sweeteners, good grams of protein per dollar amount. I'll be honest, this tastes like how you'd expect an industrially extracted product would taste, really bad. But it is pure protein, no nasty stuff. So if you're broke or just want a really clean product with no junk in it, this one is the way to go. Also I'm a cook so I usually just take a food scale and add in whatever junk I wanna put in. (The best recipe I found was 56g of protein powder, 50 cals of a nut butter, 60ml of milk, pinch of salt, a glug of immitate vanilla, and 5g of coco powder, it goes right down the hatch)If you wanna be extra feral during cutting season, just blend it up with some water (AND DRINK FAST, DO ... MoreI like a good deal so I buy my whey through 3 criteria, No heavy metals, No artificial sweeteners, good grams of protein per dollar amount. This is definitely one of the cleanest protein powders on the market and is a very good product. However, I do not recommend anyone just drink it with water. I have on multiple occasions, but only because I can stomach it. I usually prefer it mixed with other things such as fruit or peanut butter/banana.
This powder has all of the nutrients at the desired concentrations and daily percentages (e.g., leucine) that I was looking for after researching various brands. It mixes adequately with liquid and does not give me any stomach discomfort or keep me awake at night. While it is not cheap, I would highly recommend it.
The protein powder is great. It dissolves easily without a chalky texture. I have it only 4 stars because of the packaging. I don't know what to do with these giant plastic tubs that are not recyclable. I've creatively reused as many as I can to store hardware, straps, yarn, gloves and mittens, as planters, etc. I wish it was packaged in a bag or something more environmentally friendly or at the very least in recycled, recyclable plastic.
I've been using this product for over 2 and half years and I must say I love it. It is everything I am looking for in a protein powder. It's almost all protein in it's unflavored state, with no added sugars or artificial sweeteners (which most flavored, low sugar protein powders contain). It mixes well, smooth with no clumps and tastes neutral, I particularly like it mixed with milk. It also fits in a good place as far as value for the money. I even switched over to another well reviewed product, which I used for about 6 months and it just didn't compare so I came back to this reliable consistent source of protein.
Stumbled upon this while searching for clean whey isolate. Most had soy added or some type of gum or thickener. This dissolves satisfactorily, nothing fancy, and nothing unwanted. Can add to oatmeal by adding a bit of water and stirring in at the end after it’s cooked. Can add to smoothies easily as well. Flavor is bland “milk-ish” but not offensive or meat scented like some collagen products I’ve tried (not to be confused, this is not a collagen supplement, I just expected it to taste like some I’ve tried). I am so happy with this, now I can add a protein boost if I’m on the go or just. It in the mood for more ground beef/turkey!
