Best running shoe I've run in.

Every runner is different and there is no such thing as a universally perfect running shoe However these shoes are perfect for me. Light enough to race in while being sturdy enough to train in everyday. I have been running in On Clouds for the last three years. Love these shoes. I've run a lot of miles in On Cloud shoes and I couldn't recommend them any more than I already have. Give them a try maybe they will work for you too.

I got these as my everyday footwear. I prefer running shoes with some heel cushioning - no zero drop for me - and these fit the bill. The slip-on lacing always feels like it is too loose, but the shoe hugs my foot and stays put. And they get noticed.I will note that these are incredibly lightweight, which is a pleasure on my feet, but also so much so that they are actually kind of cold to wear below 50 degrees. The one detraction I will give it is that the spacing between the ribs on the sole can pick up gravel, but at least that spacing lets me quickly pick out the rocks (unlike those tiny rocks that get collected by some road running shoes). I would not try these on a dirt/rock trail though.

Easily the best shoes I've ever owned

I can't understand the negative reviews, these are easily the best shoes I've ever owned. I've run with multiple Mizunos (Wave Riders of various vintages, Wave Creations, and Evo Levitas), Nike Frees, Adidas Boost, and Brooks Pure series. The ON's hit the sweet spot - excellent cushioning, light weight (so they don't feel like bricks on your feet), great fit, highly breathable, and quality materials.Don't be frightened off by the one star reviews - these are fantastic shoes! When my Clouds wear out, I will be happily be buying another set. I liked mine so much, my wife decided to try a pair while we were in San Diego for vacation - she's ditched her Wave Prophesy's and will not be going back. Fabric is worn and tearing already
25 August 2021

I bought this sneaker for my job. I'm a firefighter and work 9 times a month with my shift schedule. The sneakers are for around the firehouse only. Today (8/25/21) I noticed the outside of my right sneaker wearing and tearing. I purchased these sneakers on 3/22/21. That makes them 5 months old with a wearing time of 45 times. Not a good track record (no pun intended). I do own 2 other ON Sneakers. The Cloudventur (bought on 2/10/19) and another color of Cloud bought on 1/5/20. Both I ware them more aggressively with normal wear and tear.

Great, lightweight shoe... But I had to break them in!
23 January 2019

I had almost given up on these things. First, I went down a size based on recommendations and measurements, so of course I got chafed pretty bad on the heel. Then, I went with my usual size and got blisters on the arches of my feet. It may have been the socks I was wearing, but I was about to take them back.Gave them another chance after my blisters healed up, and wow, these have been awesome. I'm not an expert runner by any means, but I feel like they just needed to be broken in. Now i can easily run 5-6 miles and feel bouncy and fresh. No issues with blisters or chafe. I still have some soreness in my feet, but I've been running ALOT more than my body and feet are used to, so I'm going to chalk it up to my body getting used to all the miles. The weather has been poop so I've mostly done treadmill running. I did run once outside for about 4-5 miles and had an awesome run!Support is middle of the road (which I like) but super lightweight. They feel nice, they look nice, I love them. Would I buy them again? Since I'm relatively new to the running world, I may go another route. But if someone was looking for lightweight with middle of the road support, I say try these.

I love these shoes
11 April 2022

I love these shoes. I wish I would have bought them sooner. I always was hesitant to buy these as a lot of people wore them, but I thought they may just be trendy. I finally purchased a pair though and am so happy with them. They are comfortable, look great, and function as hoped. The run about a half size off (order a half size larger than you normally wear) as others have said.

I would buy this over and over again as a daily casual shoe.
18 April 2019

The first version of the Cloud was a GREAT lightweight speed trainer. It had the cushion and great toe box needed to perform any run you wanted. However, the 2.0 I can't say the same about. It is a lot more narrow so if you have a moderate width foot I would recommend a half size up. There isn't nearly as much cushion in this shoe compared to the first and the back of the heel tab rubs by heel like crazy when I ran in them. Now you may ask why on earth would I give this a 5 star rating if everything I said about this shoe is not what someone would want? Well, this shoe is amazing as an everyday wear shoe. It is beyond comfortable and feels like you have nothing on your feet at all, it is sleek, sexy, and an easy wear with all types of clothing. I do not use the newest version to run in, but I have 3 pairs of them as just an everyday go around town type walking shoe. I love this shoe, wish they would bring back the earlier iteration of the shoe but I would still buy this for the reasons listed.

Not made for cross training workout
4 December 2021

I am sure this is a good shoes if you are not too intense with your workout routine. I bought this because I believe it was a recommended shoe by REi’s website when I typed in crossfit. Either way I was a little embarrassed when my shoe sole started to peel away after a rope clime. I’ve used way cheaper shoes when I do crossfit and harder work outs that have held up much better. It is very lite and good if you are not working out. I have not been confident enough in running over 3 miles in these. Loved it when I first broke down and paid over $100 for it them but since really putting them to work bummed I got them.

One of the best pairs of shoes I have owned
16 October 2021

Really comfortable shoes. I love that I can just slip them on and they feel secure and supportive. They look good. They did feel narrow to me at first and I almost returned then but I decided to give them a chance and after about 1 week they loosened up and fit perfectly. I usually wear a wide shoe in new balance but these fit well as a standard after a break in period.

Serious issues with slipping on hard wet surfaces!
27 June 2020

I got my shoes a couple days ago with two dogs and a 10 year old I am in and out of the house many times a day so the thought of an easy slip on seemed pretty appealing in place of an old pair of running shoes. First the positives. They are amazingly light, require no break in time and are very comfortable. I wore them for a couple of days with no issues, and then it rained. Theses shoes lose substantial traction on damp, hard, rough surfaces. Where i live most off the sidewalks and driveways are exposed aggravate concrete walking on those surfaces can be challenging when they are wet. My guess is the compound on the soles is too rigid. I will be returning the shoes.
