I recently became aware of this brand when my daughter was doing a marathon in Indianapolis a month ago, then my wife went shopping last weekend to spend her Christmas Bonus at a local boutique women's shoe store and came home with a pair for herself.Ordered a pair for myself from BC in Ox/white 1/2 size bigger that my Asics. Arrived today and fit great and the color looks awesome. Right out of the box really comfortable and supportive.I'm working from home and for the winter these will be my inside shoes, being in early 60's I can't walk around barefoot all day so these will be perfect. Expensive "inside" sneakers but comfort and good support is important!

More comfortable than the pair of Skechers and New Balance 847's I own.I also like that fact that they are NOT made in China!I also like that they use recyclable materials in manufacturing them. And they slip on nice with the quick laces.I've had mine for 2 years now and finally looking to get another pair reflects the quality they are.

Not sure what happened with the other reviewer, but these are great shoes. I have bad neuropathy and these are super comfortable. My husband bought his pair first and wears them almost every day. I have tried Nike, Brooks and Hoka. Nike is soft and comfortable and Brooks and Hoka have good support. However, nothing beats being able to slip out of the shoe in a second! I did splurge and bought the newer model as the ones on sale during the Anniversary Event did not fit as well. I am usually a 6.5 but took a 7. Hope that helps.

I was drawn to this brand because their shoes didn't look garish like the other running shoe brands. Not only do they look brilliant, but they are light weight, very breathable, and provide excellent support for all-day comfort. I don't use these to run in. They are my go-to shoe for spending the day on my feet. The pecan color is sublime and very fitting for someone with a red beard like I have.Confession: I did return these shoes because there was something on the inside of the shoe that dug into the top of my foot and it was not comfortable. But be assured that this was the only time I noticed this issue and I have worn many pairs since my first. I know the price may be a deterrent for some of you but you do see (and feel) where the money goes.Bottom line: ... MoreI was drawn to this brand because their shoes didn't look garish like the other running shoe brands. When I first took them out of the box and put them on they felt a bit hard and stiff, but that was perhaps because I was comparing them to a 18 month worn in pair of Nike Free's that I was replacing. After even the first run they began breaking in and now after a few more are continuing to gel better with my foot and feel softer on the pavement. There performance seems better than the Nike's, as I'm able to run further without any agitation on my feet or knees. They also handle up/down hills better for whatever reason. Despite being a bit harder you do notice that there is a nice cushion on impact and they feel like they give a bit of a spring as you run. The laces that come on the shoe I think are too loose for running, so I replaced them with the regular pair in the box and that made a big difference. Having them on nice and tight made them feel so natural when running like they were just a normal extension of my leg. Some people in other reviews cite that they tend to pick up debris easily, but I haven't gotten any debris yet running half on pavement and half on city park trails. So all in all they are a really great running shoe, look good too, they just need a bit of breaking in to really feel great.
Good:Downhill: Even though these are road shoes, they felt great on 3-5mile trail runs. Snug arch support, soft + supportive cushioning, and great ventilation. The outsole handled dirt and rock without problem. I feel they really excel when running downhill. I have bad knees and downhill running has always been a problem for me. I was really surprised that I didn’t feel the usual knee sting when slamming my feet down the trail. I wouldn’t say that I experienced zero knee pain, but I absolutely experienced less than with my hokas or altras.Look: Very clean look, small unassuming logos. Lightweight, no foot fatigue while shopping, walking to class, or hanging at the bar.Not so good:Laces: I quickly discarded the elastic bands that come laced in the shoe and replaced them with the provided regular laces. The elastic laces allow one to slip the shoe on and off like a slipper, but I would not try walking any distance or running at all with them. If you want to use these shoes as a house slipper, use the elastic laces. If you want to run or walk in these shoes, use the real laces.Decal peel: Not a big deal, but the decal on the insole came unpeeled after the first couple hours of wearing them.Lugs with stones: These are road shoes that run just fine on the trail. However, the large channel on the outsole allows for stones and debris to regularly get stuck underfoot.*One weird thing I noticed is that the shoe seems to loosen up allowing for foot slippage only when I’m driving with them. Kind of weird when stepping on the gas or brake. Not a hazard at all, just a strange occurrence with these shoes.
I had almost given up on these things. First, I went down a size based on recommendations and measurements, so of course I got chafed pretty bad on the heel. Then, I went with my usual size and got blisters on the arches of my feet. It may have been the socks I was wearing, but I was about to take them back.Gave them another chance after my blisters healed up, and wow, these have been awesome. I'm not an expert runner by any means, but I feel like they just needed to be broken in. Now i can easily run 5-6 miles and feel bouncy and fresh. No issues with blisters or chafe. I still have some soreness in my feet, but I've been running ALOT more than my body and feet are used to, so I'm going to chalk it up to my body getting used to all the miles. The weather has been poop so I've mostly done treadmill running. I did run once outside for about 4-5 miles and had an awesome run!Support is middle of the road (which I like) but super lightweight. They feel nice, they look nice, I love them. Would I buy them again? Since I'm relatively new to the running world, I may go another route. But if someone was looking for lightweight with middle of the road support, I say try these.
I am sure this is a good shoes if you are not too intense with your workout routine. I bought this because I believe it was a recommended shoe by REi’s website when I typed in crossfit. Either way I was a little embarrassed when my shoe sole started to peel away after a rope clime. I’ve used way cheaper shoes when I do crossfit and harder work outs that have held up much better. It is very lite and good if you are not working out. I have not been confident enough in running over 3 miles in these. Loved it when I first broke down and paid over $100 for it them but since really putting them to work bummed I got them.
Out of the box I was immediately excited by the styling, lightness and width of these, especially the inclusion of standard and bungee (my preference) laces. I have wide feet and usually run minimalist shoes, so the first impression was really good for me (despite the heel-to-toe drop).Running: I ran with these on both road and trail and found them to be pretty good on both (around 20 miles total run distance during trial). Initially, I found the arch, particularly on the outside of my foot, to be a little high but this went away after a bit as the shoe fit its self to my foot. The Clouds were responsive on the trails (and didn't grab too many stones with the split sole) as well as stable and grippy on pavement, even when wet (my trail shoes can slide on wet ... MoreOut of the box I was immediately excited by the styling, lightness and width of these, especially the inclusion of standard and bungee (my preference) laces. They remained comfortable without being "spongy" and worked well for me even with a mid-foot strike. I will be using these for an upcoming distance race and found the Clouds to be a nice upgrade from the current pair of shoes I had been training with.Walking: These shoes arrived just before a trip to Disney so I had the chance to walk A LOT. Over a week, I wore them for 40+ miles walking. This is where the bungee laces were especially great. These shoes are light and comfortable without feeling shoddy and held up great strolling the parks. They are well ventilated and kept my feet cool and comfortable, particularly with the wide toe box that let my foot flex, something many running shoes don't do well.Overall, I am super happy with my Clouds and look forward to many more miles. The combination fo just-enough cushion, lightness, flexibility/stretch, and spaciousness make these a great choice for me as an alternative to my usual minimal shoes.
The shoes are visually appealing. The honeycomb-like side-profile of the sole gives away where some of the cushioning is derived. They have the potential to look sleek and simple like more urban big brands that college bound kids wear nowadays, but the composite pieces of the Clouds keep them looking like a more functional shoe. The Clouds have an interesting "speed-lace:" system that they say lets you slip them on and go running. More on that later. So far, the packaging indicate these shoes as a premium product. These are pretty light compared to all the other shoes I run with. When you slip them on, the material lightly hugs your feet. The step-in feel that OC talks about is definitely there. One thing I did notice is that there was slight pressure on the outsides of my feet. That's because the sole is a bit narrow. For reference, I normally wear Altra, Brooks, and NB. My running size is also Mens 12. Compared to other brands that can be inconsistent with sizing, OC got it right. When I run with these using just the speed-lace, I feel like they can come off if I run too aggressively. So if I wanted to just joy-run, then I would consider just the speed-lace. Luckily, OC includes a pair of laces. The laces provided have a good hold that you don't need to double-knot. With actual laces, I feel like my ankle and heel are locked into the shoe, and I feel more confident about going the distance at non-leisure speeds. I noticed that when I run, the soles at the front of the shoe collapse, so I end up feeling more of the road. That's something contrary to the images I associate with the word Cloud. In addition, this may just have something to do with the narrowness of the shoes, but I felt a lot of pressure on the outside-front part of my feet while running, rather than on the inside-front where the foot makes contact first. This feeling is lessened when using actual laces.I wore these running on asphalt, concrete, and gravel tracks.Overall, the construction of these shoes are stellar. I've worn them about 10 times going on 6 - 10 mile runs and they don't show much wear yet. They are very light at about 8oz. They're somewhat stylish enough to wear casually around town (I got the black/white, the other colors look pretty nice). They're GREAT to walk around in. Not foot-fatigue by the end of the day. For light-runs, do without the laces. For hard-runs, use the laces (but I wouldn't really recommend these for hard-runs). These seem to fit a runner with narrower feet than mine (See shoe references above to get an idea). For me, I will wear them walking the dog (or chasing after the dog), making trips to the hardware store, going out for a beer.
