On Running Cloudwander Waterproof 7398606 Black/Eclipse

Nylon and TPU upper. Helion and Missiongrip rubber sole. Waterproof for all-day performance. Missiongrip rubber provides reliable grip in dry and wet conditions. CloudTec cushioning and a bigger toe rocker for comfortable rolling motion. A multi-functional hiking shoe, the Cloudwander is equally adept at tackling difficult terrain as it is providing all-day comfort when running errands around the city. The shoe blends the agility of On’s trail running models with the comfort of its hiking boots to create an all-round outdoor performance sneaker. This includes Missiongrip rubber and CloudTec technology in the sole unit for both grip and cushioning, as well as being waterproof for when the great outdoors makes you face adverse weather conditions. Just over a decade into its existence, On is taking huge strides to establish itself beyond its core audience of avid runners. The Swiss performance brand has built a reputation for reliable — and fast — running shoes since its inception in 2010 and is steadily becoming a brand to look out for in the lifestyle sector because of it. It is winning over new runners and sneakerheads alike, thanks to its supreme comfort and technology, as shown in the Cloudwander.

Falling apart after 2 runs

The Cloudwander is a comfortable shoe; I'll give it that. Unfortunately, however, I only had 2 runs in these before I noticed the inside liners separating from the body of the shoes near the toe box. This has caused an unwelcomed distraction while running due to having bunched up fabric hanging around the toe area. I'll be returning the pair this week. First pair of On shoes I've used and sadly it'll be the last. Beautiful design; terrible quality.

Good but not great

Just bought and received these Cloudwander hiking shoes in glacier eclipse color 3 days ago. They are a great looking shoe and have already received compliments on the look. As far the fit I did order a half size up as recommended which did result in the length being good but I do find the width a bit narrow so if you do have slightly wider feet I would recommend ordering a wider width if available. They are reasonably comfortable but I expected much better from such an expensive shoe and one that is branded "on cloud". There's an acceptable amount of padding in the toe area but I find the heal area to be quite hard. The heal area feels much more like a work boot than a sneaker or hiking shoe. Maybe they'll break in eventually and get more comfortable but as for now ... MoreJust bought and received these Cloudwander hiking shoes in glacier eclipse color 3 days ago. Good not as good as others.

I own several pairs of OC shoes. These are the most uncomfortable and heaviest of all of them. I needed waterproofing on them for an upcoming trip. I have never had to break in OC shoes before, but these Cloudwander OCs are not super comfortable out of the box imo.I have been wearing them nonstop since I got them trying to get them comfortable for my trip and haven’t achieved that goal yet. With that said they seem to be very well made and have tremendous potential.

Great Hiking Shoe!!
3 May 2023

I bought these shoes for a trip to Arizona and they did not disappoint. They are light weight and very supportive. The soles are very sticky on the rocks. I’m very happy with the purchase. I did purchase a half size larger than I normally wear. I also purchased a pair for my wife for the same trip and she is very happy also. I purchased a half size larger for her also.

Great performing on and off road
17 February 2024

I bought this shoe largely for the shoulder seasons when it’s rainy, muddy and sloppy out. My active dog doesn’t care about my feet so I have to. I’ve worn them in 20 to 30° weather and my feet stay comfortable. They shed water and mud well. Clean up nice.perhaps the most important part is they’re very very comfortable. The waterproof version is a little stiffer than the non-waterproof but not in a way that caused difficulty or hotspots. I normally wear a size 10 shoe and the size 10 fit perfect.

Horrible!!
5 December 2022

Bought these for fall rainy days as well as early winter days for my long walks. Right after starting to wear them I noticed discomfort in the right foot. The material feels very stiff right under the laces, and creates lots of pressure. I tried to loosen up the laces, but same result. I even contacted On Running, but they didn't help; they will honour manufacturing defects, but not sure if they are still to acknowledge this as a manufacturing defect.

Rock magnets
12 September 2024

I agree, the slots that run lengthwise of the shoe pick up at least one rock whenever I walk in gravel or rocky area. It is the first shoe where I’ve ever had to stop and do that. Also, the waterproof material feels more ‘plasticy’ in comparison to the regular. They have a different look. I’m not a big fan of what they’ve done with the waterproof lines.

Very comfortable but slightly narrow
12 November 2023

I'm quite particular when it comes to hiking shoes. These On are narrower then my others but fit very well with thin socks. They are very well padded and provided ample support for a Grand Canyon hike. The sole patters did not attract as many rocks as the running shoes.

Waist of 200 bucks
13 June 2024

This shoe picks up ALOT of rocks. Some you know and others you dont until you walk on your hard wood flooring. I dont like stopping to pick a rock out of the sole of my shoe every five minutes. I did not think these are as comfortable compared to other styles i have owned. They are more stiff. I wish I would’ve never bought them.

Wanted to love them
24 February 2024

I ordered a size 10 which is my true size almost across all shoe types & these cramp my toes. They also feel like they will rub in the Achilles area with or without tall socks. I wore them around my house briefly & didn’t like how stiff & restrictive they felt. If there was a size 10.5, I would be willing to try them again. I love the idea of waterproof & I love the color scheme so this is a shame!
