Great backpack

Excellent pack, very adjustable, holds a lot of stuff with lots of different places to keep things organize and many well-thought-out details. Took it on a 3-day hike with 30 lb total weight and 9 miles average distance without any problems, back-wise or other. One literally small detail, at least for a relatively tall person like me (6'3") may be that the should straps are on the shorter side, which leaves little strap to release when taking the backpack off. Moving the shoulder padding down helped make it work, though. Looking forward to our next hike!

Just updated my pack for the first time in years. Excellent features e.g. convenient access zippers, large front pouch, rain cover, the list goes on. The pack can be adjusted very easily and most adjustments can be made on the go.My only feedback is the front pouch material is really fragile…has a small tear already. Careful when you set it down, if it rolls to the front the smallest twig may create a snag. The other is the belt angle ergonomics may not be for everyone. I got some gnarly chafing on the top of my hips after a long day. It’s a steep angle compared to other packs and the belt material isn’t that cush.Solid pack…if it fits your body type.

Great pack for multiday trips

I've just received the pack after much deliberation. I went to the MEC in Vancouver while on a work trip and spent about 2 hours in there trying on the various packs. Knowing I'll spend many hours wearing this I wanted to be sure it sat correctly, was comfortable and had all the space I'd need.I test packed it with a sleeping bag, pad, tent, stove, etc. just to get a sense of space and it will be more than able to fit my clothes and food and other miscellaneous supplies for my hiking adventures. It has the standard water reservoir space and good sized external pockets and pouches for water bottles, and other gear you want to keep handy.I appreciate the nicely padded harness and belts and the fact that the mesh keeps the bag directly off my back to allow air flow ... MoreI've just received the pack after much deliberation. And this all aligns with the many reviews and youtube videos I've ingested over the past month or so to help me come to my decision.I'm 6'2" and 220 lbs, and the large fits me nicely, sitting on my hips properly and allowing good range of motion when loaded up.

This is a great pack for carrying more than you probably should. A lot of storage and pockets to make this possible. Plenty of adjustability to make it fit appropriately. I like the mesh backs that this and other Osprey products offer. Keeps that disgusting back moisture (sweat) to a minimum. Check out the pictures and I'm assuming there's a video out there, to maximize all the straps and options with this back has. I learned some stuff afterwards. Note: take into account, if you use a hydration system/bag, it'll chew up some of the space in the main compartment. All and all a great pack that's light, comfortable and not short on storage.

Literally the Easiest Review to Write

**NOTE: This review is for the older-gen Atmos AG 65**I'm reviewing the older generation Atmos AG 65 but this review should hold up (at least as well as the pack).I purchased this after reading the reviews in Backpacker magazine to replace an ancient Gregory 5500 that had served its purpose but needed to be relegated to "Bug Out Bag" status. Here's what I've learned in the more than seven years of using my Atmos AG 65:Pros:- This pack truly holds you like a dance partner should. The anti-gravity "frame" makes it easy to move your entire pack with you, which comes in handy in the Idaho mountains when you're scrambling either on top of or under felled trees.- Plenty of storage for multi-day hikes, but the load-cinching straps make it easy to use this for an ... More**NOTE: This review is for the older-gen Atmos AG 65**I'm reviewing the older generation Atmos AG 65 but this review should hold up (at least as well as the pack).I purchased this after reading the reviews in Backpacker magazine to replace an ancient Gregory 5500 that had served its purpose but needed to be relegated to "Bug Out Bag" status. The anti-gravity "frame" makes it easy to move your entire pack with you, which comes in handy in the Idaho mountains when you're scrambling either on top of or under felled trees.- Plenty of storage for multi-day hikes, but the load-cinching straps make it easy to use this for an overnighter, too.- Side storage is great. Main compartment, while just a big hole to put stuff in, is fine.- Internal reservoir sleeve is useful but if hiking where water is plentiful, the ability to ditch the bladder and use the two exterior stretch mesh bottle pockets (that you can actually reach while hiking) is sublime.- Don't want to use all 65L? You can ditch the lid and use the top flap as the new lid (even has buckle closures to do this!)- Hip belt is secure and the entire pack rests comfortably on your hips as this pack understands weight distribution far better than I do.Non-dealbreakers that subsequent iterations have either addressed or should:- Need stretchy mesh hip belt pockets (I think the newer-gens have them)- Shoulder strap needs a mesh pocket (I know this has been added--nice work by Osprey) to stash your phone, GPS, etc.Overall, this pack is great for a number of reasons, but the fit, distribution, durability (looks like I got it from REI yesterday after all these years and many, many hikes in rain, snow, and sunshine), and attention to detail make it, in my opinion, the best the market has to offer for the non-ultralighter.

My first backpack and it feels amazing

This is a very high-quality product. Carrying heavy loads is really nice with this. I chose black because it appears that the packs appear much brighter in real life than in the photos. Black looks amazing with yellow interwoven threads in the AG area. Just a work of art!

Nice upgrades with one con
22 May 2022

I really like most of the new changes on this upgraded pack. The side access to the main compartment is a welcome addition as are the lashing points on the brain of the pack (helps to lash my sleeping bag, so that I can carry the bear canister inside the pack without sacrificing space). The materials used a recycled, which is good, but hope they last as long as the regular materials. I haven't had the terrible squeaking so far that the my prior version bag had. This squeaking was pretty common (the bag would let out squeaking sounds with every step - highly annoying when hiking. Check out the many reviews that mention this on the REI site). The prior version in Medium, had a load capacity of 30-50 lbs. This new bag is now 30-40 lbs. This might be enough for those that backpack with little gear, but we like to take lots of food on our 8 day trips to the Yosemite Wilderness and the reduced capacity is giving us pause. Other than that recommend this bag.

Epic Bag from Osprey,After getting the bag 2 days after purchasing. I was impressed by the deliver time. I went on a 4 day hike through Morton national park. The back straps are super comfortable and hugs your back firm. The ample storage and comfort makes the bag extremely practical for multi day hikes. The strong quality of the bag gives me the confidence to walk through the Aussie bush without worrying about damage or tears. I’d highly recommend getting the bag

Outstanding Backpack
26 August 2022

I have now used this backpack for several years - a trek up to Camp Muir on Mt. Rainier. Though this is rated for backpacking I also would use this for mountaineering as well. Really comfortable. I train with this on with 25lbs regularly and it feels like you're barely carrying anything at all. Super comfortable and very well designed.

Perfect modern backpack for affordable price
16 January 2023

I've bought this backpack to change my old and cheap one. Chosen this one by reading lot of reviews. Now I see it is the best! It has a lot of adjustments and fits perfectly. I tried first by putting in my filled bag inside and it seemed that whole weight become significantly lighter. The backpack perfectly distributing the weight on the back. It feels like there is nothing in it. The same time, my back is now perfectly ventilated, no more overheat. And a note: the backpack has two vertical zippers on the sides to reach the inside of the main volume. Despite many reviews said it doesn't have.
