Natural Science Vitamin C supplement is a hay-based, high-fiber supplement containing the essential stabilized Vitamin C that guinea pigs need and is an important part of their daily dietary needs, and other animals benefit from during times of stress, illness or recovery. When opened, overall potency of the vitamins may oxidize and deteriorate when exposed to light air and water. Oxbow's Natural Science Vitamin C hay tab is more stable than other alternatives that require the addition to water. Vitamin C loses its potency when added to water. Approximately only 20% of the vitamin C sources added to water still remain after a period of 8 hours. Guinea pigs may refuse or reduce the amount of water due to the taste of the vitamin C, which may lead to other health problems. Feeding a tablet guarantees that pets receive the entire stabilized amount of vitamin C necessary for optimum health. Feeding a tablet also provides pet owners a more effective and convenient way of tracking feeding dosage for their small animals. However, Natural Science Vitamin C contains stabilized forms of Vitamin C, which means that it will less likely to lose its functionalities and benefits when the supplements interact with the open environment. Supports overall well-being and wound-healing Has both immune enhancing and antioxidant properties It helps to : Prevent hair and teeth loss Joint swelling Bleeding discorders Supports overall well-being and would healing For all pets during times of stress, illness or recovery.

All 6 buns L-O-V-E these and stand up for them. 2 were picky at first, 4 loved them right away.Every day each bun gets 4 tabs ~ Multivitamin, C, Digestive, Urinary (for Calcium buildup). 2 in AM, 2 in PM or spread thru the day.3 buns are totally healthy, 3 have health issues ~ 1 digestive, 1 snuffles, 1 head tilt. Since using these, there is significant improvement (and preventive for other 3). The snuffles discharge less and the guy with head tilt is stronger, stands better.I'd rather spend $ on something they love that keeps them healthy or gets them healthier than going to the vet and using meds. They also get noni juice, Manuka honey and Grapefruit seed extract plus filtered and ionized water.BTW 2 won't touch the Joint Support tabs but love the ... MoreAll 6 buns L-O-V-E these and stand up for them. So only 4 get Joint Support on occassion. The Skin and Hair tabs contain canola oil so I won't buy them again.I'd totally recommend the Multi and C Tabs daily for any Bun.Digestive is important to have on hand for warding off stasis.Calcium buildup shows up as a white sludge in the litter box. Hoping Urinary tab helps this as 5 are siblings and their healthy mom died suddenly from a calcium block. That's why I'M using all these daily...to PREVENT a problem. With 6...1 adopted and 5 born at home, it's not always easy to see a problem immediately.OXBOW tabs give me Peace of Mind, the buns LOVE them and Hopefully will keep them as Healthy as Happy.BTW All my buns also get Oxbow pellets and hay.

While my 2 Cavys enjoy a daily salad of fresh greens and veggies that no doubt gives them all the vitamin C they need, the oxbow Vitamin C tabs while fresh are easy to break apart into small sections which I then place in with their pellet food. I figure that it can not hurt and the only reason I give this product a 4 star review is that one a person opens the package the Vitamin C levels quickly evaporate even with sealing the package evertime it is used. Plus, my Guinea Pigs don't seem overly thrilled by the taste either. They will eat them, but they go for fresh hay over the tabs any day. Plus, lets be realistic. Paying like 10 bucks for a product that must only cost a few cents to produce is poor money management and I bet the package cost Oxbow more than the ... MoreWhile my 2 Cavys enjoy a daily salad of fresh greens and veggies that no doubt gives them all the vitamin C they need, the oxbow Vitamin C tabs while fresh are easy to break apart into small sections which I then place in with their pellet food. My two guinea pigs love these. I give them each one a day and ask them if they want a “cookie” it’s an easy way to supplement their vitamin c. One of mine did take a little while to start eating them, but he picky eater anyway. I would highly recommend. You should never put vitamin c in their water, by the way. By giving them this supplement you know exactly how much vitamin c they are receiving. Takes all the guess work out. Especially when vitamin c is so very important for these little potatoes.
My girls go crazy for these, it’s like a treat! They hear the bag and start squealing very loudly. Even my shy girls comes out and grabs hers out of my hand. I assume they are getting the vitamin C they need but just to see them so excited is worth buying them
My guinea pig used to love these and would run toward me as soon as I opened the bag. Recently, when I opened a new bag, I noticed that the vitamin looked different. Now my guinea pig will not eat the vitamin anymore. I have given her several over the past week and they just lay on the bottom of her cage untouched. I see where others are saying the same thing. Oxbow needs to go back to the previous formula. Otherwise, I will not be buying this product anymore. I am very disappointed! This went from a special treat for my guinea pig to a total waist of money!
My one piggie is a very picky girl and when she had a foot infection I was recommended by my vet to give her a higher vitamin c diet but she refused to eat most of the high in c veggies like peppers that would help her. She was struggling gaining weight back too. So I went back to the vet and they recommended these treats to help her get more vitamins and encourage appetite and omg does she love them. She wheeks every morning for one before I give her veggies. She’s gained her weight back and she loves this treat. My other pig also likes it so it’s a winner all around. I definitely recommend for picky piggies.
Oxbow products are always of the highest quality and most tasteful ingredients and their Vitamin C chews for small animals are no exception! They smell delicious like fresh hay out of the bag and are baked to a crispy crunch right here in the USA. Our guinea pigs won’t eat any other brand!! They are always happy to get an Oxbow Vitamin C chew!
Previously used bottle drops. Both guinea pigs love these cookies. They rip them out of my fingers and runoff to their respective corners.Vet said one tablet daily per guinea pig contains their daily needs for Vitamin C consumption.60 Count bag should last a month for two.
My Guinea Pigs absolutely loved these until Oxbow changed the formulation. Oxbow says they didn’t change ingredients but just changed the shape so they would be less susceptible to breakage during transport. There is one ingredient removed from the original formulation and the nutrients are different. The smell of the treat is also different. This was my Guinea Pigs favorite treat for three years and they always devoured them. I gave them the new treat version and they would not even take it from me. It’s been a couple weeks now and they refuse to eat them. They lay untouched on the floor of their enclosure. I’m really, really disappointed.
