I use the Scotch Blue tape for a purpose other than the usual for wall painting. Instead, I place a strip of about 6" on waxed paper and punch designs from both layers. Then I place the positive or negative punched designs on bisqued ceramic ware or cardstock for design elements. Fantastic results!!! This roll should last me literally for a lifetime. It sticks with a Goldilock touch: just right. I am able to remove the waxed paper without difficulty, and it sticks as long as I want it. Perfect! Also, I LOVE the ease of shopping online and quick, free delivery from HomeDepot, perfect for this soon-to-be octogenarian.

The best painters tape around works great. As long as you run your finger nail along the edge. Once you have it in place the paint won’t go underneath. You’ll get a nice straight line. I also use it for other things around the house. As example when I put my food in plastic Chinese food containers that I reuse to take my food to work, I run a strip of blue painters tape around the lid to hold the lid from popping off in my lunch bag, which has happened before, and my lunch was all over the inside of my bag. so this blue tape is great because it peels off easy but yet it holds the top on my lunch which is great. Sadly, this tape did NOT meet my expectations AT ALL . I was rather surprised on how poorly it performed. Paint leaked behind the tape in some places and then stuck to some of the surfaces (tile, molding, cabinet). I thought I didn't need to be careful, that getting paint on the blue tape wouldn't be a problem - I left the tape on for 24 hours, giving the paint plenty of time to dry and thought it would just pull off neatly and easily - that was NOT the case. The tape tore lengthwise in some places attached to the paint (in the areas where I painted over the tape). I used my fingernails to pick the tiny slivers of tape off (a tweezer would have worked much better, but I couldn't find mine). We normally keep this tape in our house because it's so versatile. It is still sticky but peels off easily without taking any surface off. It's tape you want to use when painting or just trying to mark and measure a straight line with having something easy to take off! We mainly use it for painting the walls or windows or use it for little craft projects if you need clean lines! It is easy to rip off of the roll so you don't need scissors, you can just tear it off by hand! The tape is the perfect width for us but you can layer it if you need to and the paint does not bleed under. We always have good outcomes with this tape!

Excellent masking tape. Sharp lines and no bleed. Easy to apply and straight lines are easy with the 48mm wide version. Ignore the negative reviews..Yes it will pull paint off but that is due to the poor paint adhesion underneath the tape and not the fault of the tape. Bleed will only occur if the tape is not applied correctly and pressed down firmly along the edge with a finger nail for paint scraper. Easy removal too. A quality tape and good value.
I bought this take along with my Valspare 3000 paint from Lowe’s 3 weeks ago hearing it would help with any slips of the brush onto other areas. We painted the three rooms and hall I had planned to do 2 weeks ago. The first time we used the Scotch blue painters tape the next day when we went back to do the chair rail a different color. It took over an hour and a half to carefully place the tape over the rail. I left the tape in place a few hrs before I went to paint. Waiting for the paint to dry and went to remove the tape. As my son was slowly pulling off the tape,it was taking off the paint with it. At first I thought maybe I should have waited longer to paint the rail. Lesson learned I thought. I have used Scotch products for years and never encountered problems until this tape. It totally ruined the paint job. I am beyond upset, knowing I have to go back to fix what the tape had pulled off. This time I will be buying that green frog tape!

This stuff ripped the enamel paint off the baseboards which I had paid a professional to paint a month before. We taped the baseboards to prime the concrete floor in our new house, and after less than 48 hours, it ripped off approx. 75% of the paint. It's a crappy product, and 3M doesn't stand behind it. I'd been working with them to provide receipts, photos, etc. so they could evaluate the issue, and they never provided the return label. This $7 product is costing me over $100 to make good on. Total crap product -- don't waste your $$.
this tape does not stick - i had a simple square room and i was painting the ceiling so i had to tape around the trim on the top of the walls. i'd put one side up and move to the next ...and before it was halfway thru the first tape pealed off and hung down. sometimes the whole thing would fall down. it was like a comedy show as i ran around trying to get the pieces to stay up. i never got it to work. and this was not just THIS batch of tape .. i had another roll from an earlier time and it was doing the same thing. now i have 3 rolls of useless tape. very dissapointing .
