The cymbal itself is great, just don't buy it from Musician's Friend. It'll take weeks to get to you and they use hardly any protection in the packaging. Very flimsy. My cymbal came with a hole in the box and a scratch on it's otherwise beautiful finish.

I had this cymbal for 15 years. I have a set with Zildian, Sabian, and Paiste. Paiste is by far the best cymbal made and this their best series. I read other reviews that say this cymbal cracks but mine has lasted for years and I am a pretty hard hitter. Finnish has stood the test of time too! I like a bright cymbal with medium sustain and this crash fits the roll; I have an 18 in. Too many drummers hit the edges and any cymbal will eventually crack hitting it like that. Cymbal angle is something that most drummers don't understand. Yes, you do hit the edge for accents but not always. I use Promark 707n sticks and the sound is cutting and clean. You DO get what you pay for !!!

I've been playing drums since 1975, I've owned pretty much every cymbal brand there is... This is my all time favorite cymbal. I went into the "Cymbal Vault" at Guitar center and picked apart all the crash cymbals they had, the Paiste Full Crash (mine is 18") really stood on its own. It's just a good clean crash with no ugly overtones, very crisp in my opinion. My AAX sounds like a trash can lid compared to the Paiste full crash.The bad, I've have heard that if you're a hard hitter, you will break it.. I hit hard but I purchased a three year warranty if and when I break it. I'm willing to take the chance

Received this cymbal yesterday. Will play it on two gigs this weekend. Over the last decade or so, one thing I've noticed among some of the well known cymbal manufacturers, is that the consistency of the product being made has improved quite a bit. I bought this Paiste based on what I heard on various videos. What I got was pretty much that exact same sound. It was what I expected to hear. You could play a dozen different ones which were supposed to be the same cymbal, before you might find one that you liked. Today...(and granted with a few years on me now)...I've come to appreciate being able to listen to a cymbal on-line and order it with a reasonable expectation, that what I'm going to receive, is going to sound exceptionally close to exactly what I heard on the video. That was certainly the case with this Paiste. It was the same for another "Z brand" cymbal I bought from Sweetwater about a year ago. The sound was right in the ballpark on that one too, even though a different manufacturer. Perhaps some enjoy the hunt of listening to dozens of cymbals in person to find the one which is magic to their ears. I get that, because I used to be one of those drummers. Today, I like being able to do it with a pair of good quality headphones and a comfortable chair. Consistency matters...and makes that possible. Nice job Paiste.
We bought one of the 18" versions of this for our son's kit about a year ago. He plays a fair amount at home, and some with a band. I occasionally play his drums as well. These are very nice sounding cymbals, I will say that up front. The problem with them seems to be cracking. In the last year, he has had three of these crack. Fortunately, Paiste replaced the first two under their warranty, and the third is now being replaced by the equipment insurance we purchased. Now, my son does play hard, so that could certainly play a part. But he has other crash cymbals from other manufacturers on his kit, and there have been no problems with those.So, they do sound very good. I will make this short and sweet! If you want the best sounding cymbal money can buy, look no further. The Paiste sigs are there. I'm a working drummer with 30 years experience and have used them all. I was always left wanting just a little more. I had a REALLY hard time paying the big bucks for a signature but decided to about a year ago. I got the 16 in mellow crash. Done, sold and story over. I now have a 16 in power and an 18 in power. Get out of the way! they and the best sounding, clearest and loudest cymbals made (except the Rude for volume). Same your pennies for a few more weeks or months and do yourself a favor. Buy Signatures!

So I tried out the Sabian AAX - Explosions, 16,17,18 & 19". Non of them did anything for me. So I started testing oout other brands Zildjian and finally Paiste. The second I heard the Paiste Signature 19" I fell in love with it. I returned home and told my wife I found a sweet cymbal but it wasn't a Sabian and it was expensive. She said it's your birthday, buy the cymbal. So later on that day I returned back to the store and purchased it, it was hard spending that kind of money. I own 16" and 18" full signature crashes. They are the best cymbals I've played. They cut through nicely when playing rock. They sound good for jazz. They are great all around cymbals. I keep them clean with Paiste cleaner. I will not allow debris to dull the sound; especially when cymbals are this expensive.
Since the Power Crash has so many comments and the Full doesn't, I thought I should comment. For me, the Full Crash is the better of the two. The Power Crash is deeper and more intense (hard to explain, like something to use as a grand finally) while the Full Crash feels more applicablle, able to be used in more spaces without overwhelming the sound of the band. All I need now is a Signature cymbal that's even less intense, for ... meloncholy punctuation, and I will have it all. Thank you Paiste; the Full Crash is wonderful.
Paiste Signature Series are amazing sounding cymbals. I have a 20" Ride, 16", 18" full crash. Been through 3 of the 16" and 2 of the 18" in three years. I am not a heavy hitter. Recommend you pay extra for the coverage since they crack very easily.
