I suffer from hormonal cystic acne on my cheeks and jawline, but I’ve seen an insane transformation since switching to Paula’s choice. This cleanser in particular completely changed my skin. My skin feels incredibly soft while cleansing, and ALSO feels soft after- no tightness or redness!! I also found my combination skin to be much less oily in the T zone while using this cleanser without being dry. I switched to a cheaper CeraVe cleanser on a work trip and I immediately broke out, even though CeraVe is supposed to be safe for acne prone skin. I’ll always have this cleanser on hand!

A fantastic cleanser that...

A fantastic cleanser that doesn't leave skin dry, tight, or stripped. I find with this cleanser you don't need to double cleanse, it gets rid of every scrap of makeup and leaves skin so silky but not oily. I can never go back to using another cleanser. AMAZING Cleanser !!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow where do I start to talk about how much Paula's Choice cleansers have changed my skin. So I had first heard about Paula's Choice through my friend as I told him how my face had broken out. He told me to try Paula's Choice and at the time they were running a big sale so I decided to give it a world and order me some. Before I placed my order I spoke with a representative who helped me choose the right cleanser and moisturizer for my skin. The resist optimal hydrating cleanser and the calm cleanser worked great with my skin and after I washed my face with both it left my skin so soft and no dryness at all. So I stacked up on the calm facial cleanser and the resist optimal hydrating cleanser and I even bought the BHF exfoliation and let me tell you that's magic in a bottle. With the BHF exfoliation and the resist hydrating cleanser I noticed a difference in my skin within a couple of days of me starting to use the products. In a week my skin was clearing up and my breakout went away almost like faded away. I am telling you Paula's Choice has great products and I and so happy I decided to try it. As I was using aveeno before Paula Choice and Paula super succeeded it.

Best Cleanser I've Ever Tried

This cleanser is so good that I felt guilty for not writing a review. It doesn't feel like it cleanser, it feels like a lotion. It doesn't foam up yet it cleans my skin thoroughly. It's the only cleanser that I can use when my skin is sensitive and dry. This cleanser is a whole experience. I have other cleansers that I use but it's hard to go back to them because thus cleanser is so good. It leaves my skin clean and moisturized. Definitely a must have and I'll continue to repurchase.

Didn't work for me

This is a lovely cleanser and left my face feeling clean but not at all tight. Rinses cleanly, easy to use. However after a couple of weeks of use I noticed breakouts around my mouth/chin area and on my forehead. I gave it a month (my routine and all else stayed the same) but it continued. After that, I stopped using it for a week and the breakouts went away. Years ago I had a reaction to a moisturizer with feverfew, and I'm wondering if the chamomile in this cleanser had a similar effect. I have a ton of seasonal and plant allergies, so it wouldn't be surprising. In any case though, I had to stop using this. Other than the allergic reaction/irritation, it was a great cleanser! Just not for me.

I have combo skin with congested pores. This is one of the nicest 'wash' cleansers I've ever used :) Removed spf and my light foundation easily and feels lovely (haven't tried with heavy makeup). I tried trial sized of this and the foaming cleanser and this will be my keeper (foaming one is okay, but does leave my skin feeling a bit tight). I really love the whole Resist line that Paula's Choice does. I have most of the products, and this cleanser is just perfect! Not a good option for dry skin

After discovering Paula's Choice Azelaic Acid and using (and loving!) it for over a year, I decided to try some other products from the brand. I have dry, rosacea prone skin. I tried this cleanser and the one specifically for sensitive skin. This one felt great during use. It pumps out in a cream, and turns milky with water. It removes makeup well. There is no stinging, burning or irritation during use. However, I noticed that after using this cleanser, I would get dry patches on my face, particularly the chin and the area between the lips and nose. I know it was this cleanser, because I was careful to phase products in my routine one at a time. I love this cleanser. If you're used to cleansers that lather, this might feel a little strange at first but it will clease your face just as well and it won't strip it in the process. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn't remove makeup on it's own as well as I would expect it to based on the description. I like to use an oil cleanser and double cleanse if I've worn makeup so I'm not personally bothered by this but if you're a make-up wearer who'd rather just do a single cleanse, you might find this product less than ideal. That said, this works wonderfully for my 2nd cleanse and leaves my skin feeling amazing. I am honestly blown away by this cleanser! I received it as a free gift with purchase and I will absolutely be purchasing it when I run out. First of all, the texture is creamy and I only need one pump for my entire face and neck. It is not stripping at all and it leaves my skin feeling super hydrated. I always thought that actives and/or antioxidants in a cleanser were pointless since you just rinse them off but after using this stuff for a couple of weeks, I have a whole new perspective. My skin feels so good and prepped for my next steps after using it.
