This set features Anti-Colic Bottles with AirFree vents designed to reduce the amount of air baby ingests while feeding. It keeps the nipple full of milk, not air, which helps with common issues like colic, reflux and gas. (You can use the bottles with or without the vents.) The nipple also stays full even when the bottle is horizontal, so your baby can drink in an upright position (the valve inside prevents vacuum buildup). The wide bottle opening is also easier to clean.

However, I also do not have a particularly gassy baby. The only minor inconvenience with this bottle is that there is one more piece to wash compared to a bottle that's just a cap, nipple and bottle. The bottles also can be used without the valve, which may be how we use them long term since there wasn't a noticable benefit with the valve for us.

The bottles are easy to put together and clean. They can also be used even if the AirFree vent is forgotten. (Typically by my husband!)Unfortunately, my little one did not seem to have much change in the amount of spitting up and gas. Maybe she just needs a little longer use and more consistency. We will definitely continue to use these bottles, as she seems to prefer the nipples and hope that we will see a reduction in her feeding discomfort.Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.

I want to thank the Stellar Panel for gifting me this Philips Avent Anti-Colic Baby Bottle with Airfree Vent set. These bottles were wonderful to test and use. I will likely be purchasing more for our newborn. We have been having some burping trouble (he wouldn’t burp after 30 minutes of trying) resulting in a LOT of spit-up in places. So these bottles came at a very opportune time. They are nice and small, and the green anti-colic vent pulls the air away from the nipple nicely. We received two so we make sure to use this bottle during the late night and early morning feeds when he wants to fall right back to sleep and rarely burps for us.I think these bottles are primarily meant for people using formula, as that tends to have more bubbles. Regardless, we love that it allows the nipple to fill slowly and that the milk can’t escape easily. Air bubbles are eliminated from the feed. Our little buddy took the nipple no problem; no nipple confusion here! You do have to make sure the green vent is placed in correctly or it does leak a bit. Once you get the hang of it though it’s no problem. Be aware of user error! Otherwise the bottles are very easy to assemble and use, especially if you have used Philips Avent bottles in the past.I don’t know why these 4oz bottles are so much smaller in size than the 4oz bottles that come with the natural nipples, but these smaller ones are much more convenient for keeping in coolers if say, you are heading to the beach. It’s the same amount of liquid gold, just a slimmer design.Overall these bottles definitely help us reduce baby's gas and discomfort, so we will continue to use them. It is convenient that all avent bottles work with any screw ring, so I can use these bottles and the green anti-colic vent with the natural nipple if I want to. We are still nursing and pumping so the natural nipple combined with the vent and smaller bottle makes me a very happy mama. I do wish you could purchase the vents separately!Highly recommend, especially if you find yourself with a particularly gassy, fussy, or colicky baby.

My baby struggled a bit with the latch ar first, which is normal for him but finished most of the milk, with no spit up after! The bottle was super easy to clean, dried quickly and was simple to reassemble. I did not experience any leaks either which is great as it takes him a bit longer to finish bottles.I do wish that the design was available in a silicone or glass option, as I much prefer those to plastic. Overall I think this is a great product that I would recommend and I love the Airfree Vent technology.
Big thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles. I was very excited to try these bottles and they arrived just in time to be used for our evening outing to the park. The bottles were quick and easy to disassemble, wash and sterilize. I filled all 3 with 4.25 ounces of milk; which is not an easy amount to measure on all bottles, but the amount my baby prefers. (See attached photo) The bottles were easy to heat while out in the park, no need to disassemble the anti-colic vent before heating! The bottle functioned exactly as promised (see attached photo) and I was able to easily pace-feed my little guy. He had no trouble latching to the nipple, even though he is used to drinking from ‘standard’ sized nipples ... MoreBig thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles. He had no trouble latching to the nipple, even though he is used to drinking from ‘standard’ sized nipples and this was a bit wider (see photo attached). Nipples come in a variety of sizes and are easy to swap. The flow rate is written on the side of the nipple, to eliminate any confusion. When we got home clean up was so easy, there were fewer parts than our usual bottles! (See attached photo) I was able to easily load the disassembled pieces into our dishwasher baskets and place on the top rack for cleaning.I would not hesitate to recommend these bottles to anyone with a baby needing a little help pacing themselves eating or cutting down on potential air swallowed. These bottles functioned exactly as described and were easy to use on the go. Baby has had multiple feedings in a row using these bottles with no gas or fussiness. My only critiques are that these bottles are not offered in a glass version (which I prefer for long term bottle feeding) and the nipple size provided (size 2) with the 9oz bottles was a bit too fast for my baby. An easy switch for a size 1 nipple, thanks again Stellar Product Testing Panel, slowed the flow for my little guy. Neither of these things would keep me from purchasing these bottles with my own money or recommending them to a friend - or worth losing a star in this rating. Looking forward to continuing to use these and I am already certain they will replace our current bottles for many feedings!
Since day one, our daughter struggled with reflux and having a hard time getting a good latch. The Philips Avent bottles have been a miracle product! We received the bottle set and size 1 and 3 nipples and it has made adjusting the flow rate super easy. We actually use both sizes of nipples at different times during the day. When our daughter is more awake and alert, we use the size 3 and when we’re putting her down for a nap or bedtime, we use the slower flow since she’s sleepy. My favorite part about the bottles and parts are how easy to clean, sterilize and reassemble they are- mom win for sure! She has a really high palate and would lose suction creating a huge mess by the end of the feeding- also meaning she wasn’t getting every last drop of milk. She never makes a mess anymore and has had less spit ups occurring.Thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for gifting us this set of bottles to test and review. We now have piece of mind knowing our baby is getting every last drop of milk and that she’s comfortable.
I used classic Avent with my first two kids and loved them. They were the perfect bottle. Few parts, well vented and easy to clean. I was hesitant to use them after the change to add the valve, but tried them anyway. Sometimes it guides the air out of the nipple if the baby is positioned on their back.Cons - the Airflex nipple was well vented and preformed it’s job better than the new design, this new nipple is not vented at all. Yes, even when you fill the nipple with milk before feeding. The valve needs to be pushed in firmly around the neck of the bottles or it leaks terribly, hard to do with one hand.I regret buying this and wish I had went with another vented nipple bottle such as Parents Choice or Lansinoh. Giving 2 stars because the bottle is still has durable and easy to hold. The vented system on this bottle is nothing more than a gimmick to make their product more marketable.
The Philips Advent Airfree Vent Seal Bottle is designed to decrease common issues related to feeding including colic, reflux, and gas by keeping the nipple full of milk instead of air. They come in a variety of sizes and starter packs, and for the purpose of this review, I was sent a 3 pack as part of the Stellar Product testing panel. The bottle comes with 5 pieces: a 9oz bottle, a #2 nipple, the ring that the nipple fits in and screws on the top of the bottle, the lid/cover, and air-free vent. The air-free vent is a single piece, promising that this product is simple to use and easy to clean.Overall, I had a great experience with these bottles. While we (luckily) dont have a colicky baby, our LO does enjoy a post-feed spit up from time to time and was known to be quite gassy after a big bottle so we were still able to benefit from this product. With this simple yet effective design, there was a noticeable decrease in the amount of gas and spit up that she had following a full feed. What I really liked about this design was that I am able to sit her up more than with a traditional bottle, as the nipple remains more full of milk regardless of the angle. This has made night feedings a little easier and with less interruptions. I also really like the shape of this bottle as its shorter and wider and does not lose volume. The only downside I found to using this product is having an extra piece to clean and sanitize, especially if we are cycling through and using all of the bottles back to back. However, that being said, because it is just one piece it is easy to clean, and it sits at the mouth of the bottle effortlessly. Also as my baby gets older, I find that we dont need to use the air-free vent as often as she is naturally having less feeding issues.I gave this product a 4 star rating because I am unable to speak to whether or not it does reduce more extreme cases of colic specifically. I did see a reduction in gas and spit up with my LO, and I really like the bottle overall and continue to use it. In general, I would definitley recommend this product to my friends who have feeding issues related to gas and discomfort.
Our baby was born with a tongue tie severely impacting his feeding; after his surgery to correct this, he needed to learn how to use his tongue properly again. In the meantime, he was taking in a lot of air during feedings and having lots of discomfort from excessive gas. I was very excited to try these bottles, but they really missed the mark for our son. My son would take 1 oz in about 2 -3 minutes which made his stomach feel even worse-because of the nipple shape, he never got a secure latch on the bottle (which he is able to do on other bottles no problem now) thus increasing his air intake and making his gas worseI feel like to anti-colic insert could have truly helped with his extra air intake issue that causes him so much gas and discomfort; however, the nipple is shaped so poorly causing a poor latch and is wildly to fast that these bottles ended up making his gas problems from excessive air intake worse. Unfortunately I cannot recommend these bottles even though they do have some potential, in theory.I am so grateful to the Stellar Product Testing Panel to allow us to test these bottles particularly right when my son was having so many feeding issues we were trying to work through!
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set. My baby (8 weeks) is primarily eating from the breast, so finding a bottle that she will happily take on other occasions is extremely important. This bottle was easy to clean and sanitize when I received it, and I immediately loved how few parts there were, which contributes to how easy it is to clean. My baby had no problem with the size and shape of the nipple, and never pulled pulled away when putting it in her mouth. She easily wrapped her mouth around the appropriate areas of the nipple. We practice paced bottle feeding and this bottle/and nipple makes that easy, and it's very comfortable for mom/dad to hold. We practice paced bottle feeding and this bottle/and nipple makes that easy, and it's very comfortable for mom/dad to hold. With other bottles we've often experienced more of a mess, with milk dribbling down her face. It was great to have feeds that required less wiping! Additionally, my baby often suffers from excess gas and spit up post-feeding, and we usually have to hold her upright for 15 minutes after eating. We experienced less gas and spit up (although there was still some) after feeding her from this bottle and she seemed content when we were done. When we used it before bed, we were able to put her down more quickly and she had a great night of sleep (note: she's already generally a really good sleeper). Our baby eats fewer times a day, but more volume, than most babies her age. Therefore, a bottle size larger than 4 oz would be helpful. This bottle will definitely be part of our bottle rotation and I will likely buy them in the larger size in the future.
