I recently got my hands on the iPad Pro, and I am absolutely impressed with its sleek design and powerful performance. First off, generally speaking I love my iPad. If you’re a professional artist who does my like to be attached to a desk or simply want to have a digital sketchbook, the iPad Pro is fantastic! Now, the things I don’t care about it have everything to do with Apple and the way they go about things… first, to get the iPad Pro I currently have I had to return it twice. Once because I didn’t like the smaller screen size and the second because the screen on my brand new iPad Pro was flickering and unresponsive. The first return was on me for sure but it took two weeks to get the replacement. TL;DR: iPad Pro is a great price of tech there are some amazing apps. However, Apple smells their own farts and publishes it as a new iOS.

I’ve owned a lot of iPads - minis and regular iPads for the kids. I had an iPad Pro second generation I originally bought to watch movies when I travel for work and to take notes. My wife took it over when she became obsessed with Procreate (a drawing application). Over time the battery got worse and worse and the performance dropped. At one point she couldnt update the application anymore. We bought the iPad Pro 5th generation as a pre release. Like all things Apple, you’re definitely paying a premium but for someone who is serious about their art of craft - worth it. Pros: + the processing power is a BEAST. It’s effortless and smooth. This reduces the cost of ownership because when you upgrade in a few years you can still sell for a good amount. Neutral (compared to the Gen2): - the Mini LED feels a bit hyped. The screen in side by side comparisons wasn’t noticeably better in my opinion. If you’re not a professional who relies on nuanced color calibration, etc. you may not notice a difference. I am a photographer and don’t think most people will notice a difference. - the form factor remains largely unchanged. With a case it’s still a heavy machine relatively speaking. Negatives - price. I got the 256GB plus a case and a pencil. It’s a big chunk on money for most people. Most people should stick with an Air or regular iPad. Throw in the keyboard and some dongles and taxes and you’ve cleared two thousand pretty easily. - the form factor is slightly thicker than Gen4 so while I got a case which fit, the Apple Pencil didn’t charge. So if you need pencil charging, get a Gen5 case. - Apple really needs to just commit to one port type. This is lightning (USB C) which is great, but most apple products are still lightning. More of an annoyance, but make up your mind Apple! - it’s almost a PC replacement but not quite there for most people. Certain user types may be able yo replace their PC or Mac but I still see it as a secondary device.

This 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2nd Generation is well made by Apple and was available in a couple different configurations here as refurbished. This top configuration was closely priced to the less equipped units, so that it made sense to order this one. Always get as much Ram as you can afford, out makes a difference.It's refurbished designation was ' Like New'. Looking closer at the definitions there was a 'Premium' defined (but none in stock), but Like New is pretty darn good. There were a couple small scratches on the screen that were a little more predominant then described, but nothing major and I always put a good screen protector on my tablets. For this unit it's now topped out at iOS 17.6.x. it will not load iOS 18. Nothing wrong about that since the operating system is design for specific processors and chipset.

Excellent Tablet But Battery May Be Weak

Absolutely love the tablet in general, but it has a worn out battery, which I will have to replace at batteries plus for another $90. Has plenty of storage, is very fast, and has a large, beautiful display. I had a smaller Ipad Pro, which I thought was the best tablet I ever owned. This one is like the old one, only with a much larger screen. Very pleased overall, but would have had 2nd thoughts had I known about the bad battery. Still, I guess you run a risk when you buy used.

The screen is awesome, it shows no signs of slowing down as a 3rd generation model and has higher specs than my previous (and newer) iPad. If you are going to buy an iPad, invest in some good quality microfibre cloths to clean the screen.Unfortunately, whilst the delivery was on time it was in a box with the most coarse packing shredded cardboard I've ever received. It was so rough on my hands unpacking the box that it is a wonder the screen wasn't scratched. If CEX will use this material, at least protect the screen somehow.Additionally, the iPad was so dirty and covered in stickers and glue from previous stickers. I ordered a couple things before this purchase. I know Walmart has it all so I started getting curious about electronics. Wow! The tablet is less than 1/3 of the price from the Apple Store. Of course after a week it starts glitching. It’s okay right? They let me return that lamp I broke; all useless, with no box. Nope. All the sudden cause it’s “electronics” my store won’t accept the return with no box. Even after I told the app I didn’t have a box. I don’t care if you are worried about a switch-a-roo. I am willing to wait patiently for 10-14 business days for the money back. That is enough time to verify it’s the same item.
