The iPad Pro 5th Generation excels with its M1 chip, offering laptop-level performance in a sleek, portable design. The stunning Liquid Retina XDR display delivers exceptional brightness and color accuracy, ideal for creative work. The addition of 5G connectivity and Thunderbolt support enhances its versatility. However, the high price and reliance on accessories like the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil to unlock its full potential can be limiting. While it’s an impressive tool for professionals and creatives, those seeking a more traditional laptop experience might find the iPad Pro less practical for everyday tasks.

Upgraded today from a 2nd gen iPad 11in. And wow... the display is so much crisper. Also, the battery life is amazing. I drew on procreate for about an hour, and still had 99% battery. My old iPad would have been at 70% after an hour. The reason 1 upgraded was because I only had 64gb of storage space, and as an artist.. you run out of room after a while. I also didn't want to go through my pictures and paintings to pick and choose what could stay. So, instead I upgraded! The sound on this model isn't fantastic.. but I don't really use my iPad for watching videos so it doesn't matter. It seems to open apps a lot faster, and just seems snappier in general.

Some things to consider about me: I'm a lifelong Windows and Android user, my last Apple product was the iPod shuffle(!!!). I'm also a graduate student and artist which were my two main motivators for purchasing an iPad. So this is basically the coolest device EVER for being a student. I can't believe how much better an iPad is compared to good ole pencil and paper. I use Goodnotes and currently iOS 15 allows me to splitscreen between that app and a pdf viewer so I can take notes while reading seamlessly. I can also have a textbook open while taking lecture notes which makes it so much easier to cross reference what professors are saying. I remember seeing memes making fun of the Apple pencil when it first came out, but boy does it making writing/drawing smoooooth. Speaking of drawing... I'm a traditional artist - so think pencil, paper, ink, paint. Digital art on the iPad pro is so much fun. I've been using Procreate and it makes me happy that I can start making art at the drop of the hat. I don't want this to turn into an app review, but basically drawing on the iPad is NICE AS HECK. Finally my general experiences with browsing/using apps/playing games have been exceptional. This is probably kind of niche, but I've been playing Old School Runescape on here and it is incredible. Extremely smooth experience and honestly feels like how the game was meant to be played. Watching videos is great, sound is great, everything is great. Overall, I love this babey so much and I never want to go back. #techie #workspace

This new M1 iPad Pro sounds great, both in speakers and can (finally) record sound in stereo. However, the image processing on both the rear and front-facing cameras are crude and noisy, so the photographs look painterly. Video quality is quite decent, however, so maybe the imaging sensors are optimized for video but not for still photos. The older iPad Pro models take decent photos as well as videos, but they record sound in mono. If you want to take decent still photos, the M1 iPad Pro will disappoint. Also, contrary to documentation online, the front-facing camera cannot record 1080p, can only record 720p. The Mirror front camera feature makes it so your face is not reflected, which was annoying how selfies would look like someone looking at you instead of you ... Also, contrary to documentation online, the front-facing camera cannot record 1080p, can only record 720p. The Mirror front camera feature makes it so your face is not reflected, which was annoying how selfies would look like someone looking at you instead of you looking in the mirror. Portrait Mode is full of noise and excess smoothing, so taking selfies for printing or a photo contest may be a problem. The display is the same as the 11" model, does not get very bright, and has the same angular 'wavy' contrast, but clarity of text on web pages is outstanding. Maybe iPad OS 14 does not take advantage of the new M1 technologies, which iPad OS 15 should, and may correct some of the issues I have addressed. Four stars for being a very fast, great-sounding, and handsome-looking 5thGeneration iPad Pro, but the camera quality is a downgrade for still photography and selfies, say, compared to the 2018 release, which sadly, I broke by accident.
I ordered a couple things before this purchase. I know Walmart has it all so I started getting curious about electronics. Wow! The tablet is less than 1/3 of the price from the Apple Store. Of course after a week it starts glitching. It’s okay right? They let me return that lamp I broke; all useless, with no box. Nope. All the sudden cause it’s “electronics” my store won’t accept the return with no box. Even after I told the app I didn’t have a box. I don’t care if you are worried about a switch-a-roo. I am willing to wait patiently for 10-14 business days for the money back. That is enough time to verify it’s the same item. I’m not okay with you making me have to box up this $800 paper weight to drop it off at a FedEx. Amazon didn’t make me box up my last return! ... MoreI ordered a couple things before this purchase. I said it. Try to keep up guys or I can’t keep recommending the Walmart App to the guys in my group. I’m already done telling my mom to get it, save her this kind of headache. I love Wally World. Team Walmart all the way, but it’s hard to have faith in yall when I put myself out there with this kind of big purchase an all the sudden the easy-hassle free return is no longer an option. I know your app is more than a grocery getter. I really need you to be better than Amazon. Plz
Seems indifferent from the 2018 and 2020 releases, the M1 chip is overhyped, and does not offer any better performance over the previous generations. Many people give this 2021 iPad Pro great reviews, but in my experience, it does not seem a great value. Either the iPad OS cannot take advantage of the M1 chip (may have been manufactured by Motorola, I am not sure on this), or its performance is wired to the LIDAR sensor for augmented reality. The 'zoom' feature on the new front camera does not work with iPad OS, but emulated (quite well, actually) through third-party Apps that take advantage of it. Screen has blooming issues, but only on max brightness. The screen, otherwise, is as good as any previous model. That said, this upgrade is very minor, and gimmicky, and ... That said, this upgrade is very minor, and gimmicky, and so maybe I could give this four stars, but if you already have the 2018 or 2019 model, the value knocks it down a star, given my 3-star review. Be careful, and yeah, if you do a lot of 4K video, and the cameras on the iPad are quite good, it is awesome you can get the 2 TB model. Even many new computers do not come in this capacity, even far from the base model. Battery life is outstanding as usual.
I have used my iPad Pro for years now and I don’t have any complaints. I have the 256gb and it is plenty for work, movies, spreadsheets, anything you want to do. The display is so crisp and the speaker is loud. Using the keyboard cover makes this the same as using a laptop. It is responsive and my go-to device. I travelled the country with it and never had issues connecting, even in moving vehicles. So much easier to carry than a laptop (think airplane carry-on) and does the same work and then some if you add making phone calls! I will give up my iPad when they pry it from my cold dead hands.
To be honest I was a little nervous about purchasing a renewed tablet as you can never be sure what you're getting until the device arrives. I have to say that so far so good. The 5th gen iPad Pro 12.9 was packed in a non-descript box and was well protected. It came with a non-apple wall charger. After charging the tablet it started right up with defaulted to factory reset condition. Configuration was easy as I used my copied the apps and data from my existing iPad over to the new device.IMO, the tablet is in excellent condition. There are no obvious scuffs, scratches or other defects on its exterior. The screen is perfect. Everything appears to be functioning well. I haven't had it long enough to assess battery life but it seems okay. All in all, it's been a ... I absolutely love it BUT my fault for not doing the further research. I will be sending this iPad back. I absolutely love it but can’t see paying this price for an iPad that apple no longer supports as of this year. Being a 2021 model I didn’t think apple would stop the support just 3 years later doesn’t seem right actually. Also isn’t compatible with IOS18 which is what really made me decide to send it back. If i would have done a little further research I would have known this. And would have got 2022 not 2021. Ugh.
The ipad looks brand new with no noticeable scratches or markings. It did not come in a shrink-wrapped box, but it had the protective paper folded neatly around it and was in a heavy duty bubble wrap case. So far, my only issue is the charging cord and adapter—when it arrived, the ipad was at 40% charge, so I plugged it in with the charging cord and adapter it came with and fell asleep. When i woke up, the ipad was only at 63% after a couple hours. I noticed the connection kept slipping on and off (it beeped every time it would reconnect), and it wouldn’t go any higher than 64%. Now I am using an old charging cord that I already had and it’s not going any higher than 64%, but its also keeping the charge connected to my ipad, so it seems it’s working better than the ...
